been missing the entire day. they believe the victim died between 5:00 and 7:00 a.m. yesterday morning. police are calling the death suspicious. randy: two people are fighting for their lives. they were caught in a street in woburn when it happened. let's go out to sera congi. she is there at the scene with sera: the two friends are from boston, and they were visiting woburn near city hall when they were hit. take a look. it happened at 7:00 on commons street. the two people, a 67-year-old woman and 70-year-old man hit by a septic tank truck. both are in the hospital now with critical injuries. police tell us what happened just before the crash. >> they were here for a social visit, to visit people and they

florida. randy. randy: a convicted murderer is back in court fighting for a new sentence after his initial death penalty punishment was thrown out. >> antoinette antonio is live at the courthouse in south boston with what to expect today. antoinette? >> emily and randy, it's been seven weeks since the jury selection began in this case, and today opening statements in the sentencing retrial of gary lee samson will get underway. sampson admitted to killing three people in 2001. it was a week long rampage. he was sentenced to death in 2004 after pleading guilty to killing jonathan rizzo and phillip mccloskey. the two men who picked him up while hitchhiking. but that sentence was tossed because of jury wrongdoing. the jury accused of lying about her background. sampson was sentenced separately in the murder of robert eli whitney.
