>> they are going to play on recent discussions about concussions in football. >> a jury of 12 and six alternates will hear testimony of close to 200 different witnesses. this trial is expected to go well into december. >> it's a story that's been breaking all day. he's in police custody. scott that's scott michael green, shot one officer while he sat in his car and killed the other as he responded to the scene. police arrested hip after he flagged down a state worker,0ed himself and then asked to call 911. authorities say the slain officers were blind sided by the attacks. >> it doesn't look like there was an exchange of conversation. it doesn't look like there was an opportunity, there definitely wasn't an opportunity for these officers to defend themselves or to respond to the attack.

officer justin martin, who joined the police force in 2015 and sergeant anthony -- who joined the department in 2005. green has a history of confrontations with police including an incident just three weeks ago at a high school football game. >> also breaking, more protests in boston as disabled residents demand better treatment. demonstrators headed to the statehouse, they want more funding to help people with disabilities and more options for the disabled to live in thei institutions. yesterday protestors from the same group blocked entrances, just across from the statehouse, about 60 of them were cited for trespassing. late word coming today about a woman whose body was found outside an apartment complex in lawrence. authorities have identified the woman as 62-year-old justine in a rosa, at first authorities label her death as suspicious but they now say she's not a victim of foul play.

tonight. you can see the temperatures overnight. only dropping into the 50s here in boston. the winds will be light. however, clouds to the west. some showers to the west. want to give you a little idea of the timeline. as far as tomorrow morning's commute is concerned there could be a few showers around mainly north of the pike toward southern new hampshire and maine. get to lunch time showers start approaching from the west and move in during the course of the afternoon. so not quite the day that we had today. temperature changes to talk >> thank you. >> right now the manhunt continues after a terrifying home invasion in sterling. it happened yesterday at this home on stephani and lane. a 70-year-old woman was bound with duct tape and threatened with a knife by three men wearing masks who broke in. >> they did hold a knife to her throat. demanding money and the location of the safe. >> the men left in the victim's car which was found seven miles

fingerprints on the car and they are asking anyone who was in the area who saw anything to contact police. >> a gloucester man is in custody at this hour charged with the murder. it happened in lynn. police say sean shot donald yancey in an apartment saturday night. he was arrested last night in lynn. he was ordered held without bail at his arraignment today. state police investigating a deadly crash happening. investigators say a car crashed through a fence and the barrier at the end of sheridan street continuing the driver and passenger were killed. there are early indications excessive speed may have been a factor. there is no evidence that the crash was terror related at all. >> two people still in critical condition tonight, after being hit by a septic truck. it happened last night on common street. 67-year-old woman, 71-year-old man, were in a crosswalk at city hall when they were hit. the driver stayed at the scene. police are reviewing surveillance video to figure out

>> destruction of toll booths along the mass pike continues. this shows the overnight demolition of the tolls at the ted williams tunnel. crews continue to work around the clock to take down tolls now that the state is using all electronic tolling. they are ahead of schedule. >> some booths coming down. let's take a live look at traffic. you can see the traffic in the foreground heading toward the split. it's moving slowly. the h.o.v. lane is moving and traffic in the background moving okay. let's check the drive time right down there. 33 minutes. fairly normal. not too bad. let's go north. 17 minutes. man, you're flying.

so you can enjoy being outside. winds are light. actually kicked up a little sea breeze. logan airport it's dropped off to 62. otherwise, it still pretty mild. this will be a mild night overall. winds won't be real strong. temperatures will drop to the 50s in most places. there could be a few upper 40s to the north. tomorrow will be another mild day. however, there is going to be a dividing line, cool air to the north, mild air to the and the mass pike could sit either way, on the cool side or warm side. it will be in the 60s across southernmost southern new england and in the 50s across the northern portions of southern new england. i think you can see that the air is a little bit cooler to the north. then it gets chillier around the great lakes that will come in as we get overnight tomorrow night and into friday. you'll notice the difference. patchy clouds there. has been a fair amount of sun today. pretty nice stuff. we widen it out to the west and

some showers along the cold front and this will be moving eastward with time. i want to give you an idea of how this breaks down. we'll notice some increase in clouds as we go through tonight, but if you're going to be out this evening and into tonight, still fairly mild. i don't see any wet weather. tomorrow morning as we start the commute, there may be some partially clear skies to the south. a couple of showers could be around the north shore especially in southern new hampshire and southern maine. as we get to lunch watch a band of downpours moving into the berkshires and follow it eastward so it could be around the boston area as we get the evening commute under way tomorrow, during tomorrow night, that will start to slide offshore. and as it does along with the front, then the chillier air will start to move in with somewhat gusty winds. we'll be clearing during friday. right along the coast especially the cape there, could be some clouds for a while in the morning. >> saturday is day that starts out clear, and another front

increasing clouds. those are snow showers across northern new hampshire and the mountains of maine. if we get a spritz or a shower, it probably would be a rain shower overnight on saturday night. that's how that looks like it's going to be. >> as we check out the next seven days, fairly mild tomorrow but more clouds and a period of wet weather in the afternoon. on friday, a brighter day, breezy and a chillier day. saturday starts chilly and moves into the 50s could. be a shower at change clocks back, and then on sunday it looks breezy and chilly with a pretty early sunset. about 50 degrees. monday is a little milder. so far, locally for election day, it looks pretty reasonable. it may start out in the 30s at dawn but should move up to around 60 in the afternoon. there is a weak front that may approach later in the day, a spot shower but i don't see any significant weather headaches locally for election day as

been breaking much of this day a suspect in custody accused of killing two iowa police officers in an ambush style attack. the attacks happening a few miles apart. investigators revealing the suspect had a history of racial outbursts and confrontations with police. >> loretta lynch promising to give officers the tools they need to do their jobs safely. >> the man police believe ambushed two police officers in iowa now in custody. police identifying 46-year-old scott michael green as a suspect. surrendering to state officials this morning in a rural area west of des moines. >> it's a great sense of relief, not just for us, obviously, he was targeting police officers. >> just hours before turning himself in. >> there is an officer down. >> two police officers shot and killed separately, in the suburbs of des moines while in their patrol cars.
