city. 22-year-old manuel perez. 23-year-old levi montalvo. they were reported missing at 2 this afternoon. police say they are not classified as violent offenders but if you see them don't approach them call police right away. maria: also breaking, the fbi is now offering a reward for information in the disappearance of a man from weymouth. norman lee was snorkeling with his wife, off grand cayman island back in march of 2015. they got separated. his wife made it back safely and alerted police. the fbi is offering $10,000 to anyone who knows what happened to lee. ed: jurors deciding whether a convicted killer gets the death penalty heard part of his confession today. families of gary sampson's victims were in court today as his sentencing re-trial got started. so was our reid lamberty. reporter: >> his defense team offered a new theory on why the 41-year-old hitchhiker murdered

his brain was broken and had been for a long time. since he was 4-years-old in fact,when sampson's attorneys said the convicted killer fell down a flight of stairs,you will find that he has had a damaged brain that affected his behavior before the crimes, during the crimes and after the crimes. >> they are trying whatever they can to generate some sympathy for this guy. reporter: mike rizzo doesn't buy it,his 19-year-old son,jonathan,was the second of sampsons three murders in july of 2001,rizzo,and philip mcloskey were carjacked and of new hampshire was strangled, sampson was sentenced to death in 2003 but was granted a new sentencing trial after it was learned one of the jurors lied about her background. >> we've been thru this already its been 13 years since he's been convicted and we have to go thru this again? reporter: sampson's attorneys argued the now 57-year-old suffered multiple head injuries in his life,referring to him as brain damaged,prosecutors countered,claiming the most powerful tool this defendant used to kill is right here in

prosecutors went as far as to say sampson wore a murder outfit, dressing conservatively wearing slacks and a polo to convince his victims to give him a ride,steal their cars,and ultimately make them them believe he wouldn't kill them.he out smarted them all, prosecutors said. >> it is so much more raw last time. i'm a little more jaded by the process now. i'a hear. >> these jurors will hear a lot of testimony. 200 witnesses will take the stand. the trial expected to last into december. >> tributes of people leaving flowers on a police cruiser after hours were ambushed and

officers overnight is now in police custody. investigators say scott michael greene shot one officer while he sat in his car, then killed the other as he responded to the scene. police arrested him after he flagged down a state worker in des moines identified himself then asked to call 911. authorities say the officers were blind-sided by the attacks. >> it does look like there was an exchange of conversation. there definitely was not an opportunity attack. maria: the slain officers have been identified as officer justin martin and sgt. anthony berminio. greene has a history of confrontations with police. ed: right now a stoughton rabbi is under fire from more than one hundred leaders of various faiths for booking some controversial speakers tonight at his synagogue. frank gaffney, general william jerry boykin and activist tom trenton will talk national security. critics say they preach intolerance and anti muslim sentiments. the rabbi welcomes freedom of
