police are only confirming this was a deadly shooting at this time. it happened just after 2:00 this afternoon here on ferry street, not far from chelsea street. >> it said because it's nonsense that this violence is still going on, you know? it's tough, you know? i pray for the family. i pray that this doesn't happen again. this violence has to stop. diane: the district attorney's office has not released more information on what happened. in ord t integrity of the investigation, it cannot release additional information at this time. reid: breaking news out of tewksbury, a 70-year-old pedestrian dead after being hit by a truck on a local road. no charges filed against the driver, who stayed at the scene. the accident is still under investigation. it does not appear that the victim was in a crosswalk. nichole: boston police say a pair of fatal shootings this weekend appear to be gang-related. but investigators say the two do not seem to be linked to each other. the first was just after

mount ida. police say a man in his 20's walked into a hospital with gunshot wounds and later died. the second victim was shot hours later, around 10:00 a.m., while sitting in his car on nazing street in roxbury. a deadly rollover crash in westport is under investigation. state police say the car hit a median barrier on route 195 early this morning. it rolled over on the other side of the highway, and the driver was thrown out. the 5 passengers were rushed to the hospital, but they are expected to be ok. reid: a pleasant surprise for drivers in needham. traffic on 128 is back to normal earlier than expected. work to demolish the old highland avenue overpass finished hours ahead of schedule. weekend detours were lifted around noon today. restrictions had been in place since friday night. nichole: a three-year-old boy hit by a bullet meant for somebody else. the mother's message to the people who did it.
