and friends to watch the election results come in. in the meantime, we are waiting for supporters to fill the ballroom, and we expect donald trump will be here later today. there is a lot ahead of us and it is sure to get interesting. maria: thank you. the clinton campaign headquarters is about two miles away, and that is where ben simmoneau continues our live coverage. it's one of the largest indoor spaces and all of new york city. and take a look. hillary clinton talked a lot about breaking that last proverbial glass ceiling. she'll give her speech tonight underneath a glass ceiling, be that a concession or celebratory speech. her aides say she is trying to soak in the last moments of a long campaign.

plain. rhondella: boston is now saying they have a countable hundred 60,000 votes who have already done their civic duty. take a look at this long line. once you get in the door you still have to hook a left to get into the voting area. turnout is on the break of making history. this second mid day visit to jamaica plain's polling place better but not swift. >> someone walked out and said it's an hour and 15 min total. rhondella: the state record for voter turnout in the last presidential election hit nearly 3.2 million we could break that. >> if we get 2 million people to vote in person today in addition to the 1.2 million that have a new record. rhondella: voters ready to wait show real determination to make their voices heard.

a tight u.s. senate race between republican incumbent kelly ayotte and democratic governor maggie hassan is certainly part of the draw. newscenter 5's david bienick is live in manchester with the ayotte campaign. david: the big question is to what degree will donald trump supporters turn out today and support kelly ayotte, even though during the campaign she refused to support him? she was accompanied by her daughter as she went to the polls this morning. vote for trump, then said she would not. trump said he was getting "zero support" from her, and she claims that she wrote mike pence's name in, although she declined to say why. >> i have already said that. obviously i have addressed that in the past, and today is about the senate race into will be new hampshire's voice to represent

todd: in just a few hours, we'll know if that powerful, high-profile, bipartisan coalition has been influential enough change the minds of so many younger voters, who tend to favor legalization, according to multiple polls. many members of the no on 4 say they support legalization of recreational marijuana, but they oppose this ballot question because they feel it creates too many health and safety risks. there will be more drugged driving, edibles will be marketed to young people, and the projected $100 million tax revenue will be insufficient to compensate for the effects. at this hour, many votes have already been cast, but the the no side is still campaigning. >> right now we are working hard up until the polls close to try to convince voters that they

could decide not to let them open. maria: millions of voters at polling places today and there are some problems. ed: along the lines, confusion, malfunctioning equipment. let's get to nichole berlie. nichole: computer malfunctions causing delays in some states, creatinges forced five precincts to switch to paper roll books. th board of electione recommends they extend voting by 90 minutes to account for the weight. -- the wait . some in houston were forced to diverge voters. others waited up to two and a half hours, even bringing folding chairs.

trump campaign lawsuit concerning early voter ballots. the campaign wanted ballots from four las vegas voting sites separated because the locations were allegedly kept open two hours beyond closing time. a county spokesman says no polling places were kept open overtime. donald trump's son eric may have broken new york state law by tweeting a photo of his completed ballot. the younger trump sent out a photo of a ballot with the oval over his father's name filled in. law bans voters from showing marked ballots to others. no comment from trump or the local election board. there were also reports that some voting machines in western pennsylvania were recording trump votes as clinton votes. local elections officials recalibrated the machines and said the problem was corrected.

problem virtually anywhere. maria: especially here it was the best, day out there. harvey: i agree. however, if you voted at 7:00 a.m., you might not have felt that way. look how cold it was early this morning. and look at the temperature jump, wow. some spots jumped over 40 degrees from the low to the high. it was incredible out there the wind is calm and we have clear skies with temperatures falling off quickly now into the 40's and low 50's. a few spots will get into the 30's tonight but overall not as cold as last night. today another mild day because of the risk of shower.
