shut down the streets here to spread their message. [chanting] a flood of protesters flowed from the common to the state house. [chanting] taking over beacon street, as police guided the march. >> as long as it is peaceful protest, we're good with that. john: the massive crowd of several thousands gathered on the common before shutting down the street. anger and frustration over the president-elect grew them together. >> he is preparing to put forward a right-winged anti-immigrant agenda, and we want to challenge that. >> it hurts my heart that people that i love are now fearful of their lives and livelihood. reporter: these protester hope it's the beginning of a movement to make sure their voice is heard even though the candidate didn't win. >> more than half of the country,

the maine center for disease control has been notified. right now, maine medical center is postponing elective surgeries today and tomorrow at their main campus in portland. the hospital says it is sterilizing equipment and surgical processing areas. however, there is no ongoing risk to patients or staff. prion diseases affect the brain and nervous system like mad cow disease. they are always fatal. shaun chaiyabhat, wcvb newscenter 5. ed: right now, police are looking for a car in connection with a shooting in easton. the victim 35-year-old daniel it life in a boston hospital. police say two teens found the him in the woods off of pond street yesterday. now, investigators are looking for a car, believed to be connected to the case. anyone who has seen a red, 2016 mazda 3 sedan, with florida plates, should call police. a salem police officer faces charges of raping a prisoner in custody. investigators say brian butler fondled the inmate and performed a sex act on him in a police headquarters broom closet last

butler is a father of three and is married to salem police chief mary butler. butler is out on bail and is on paid leave from his job. maria: it's probation and fines for the couple connected to the framingham pharmacy involved in a deadly, tainted steroid outbreak. douglas and carla conigliaro pleaded guilty to illegally hiding bank account withdrawals of over $100,000. together, they were sentenced to three years probation and about $60,000 in fines. carla conigliaro was majority owner of the new england compounding center, which investigators say killed 76 people and sickened almost 800 others with contaminated steroids. >> new advice tonight for people who take vitamin d supplements. the miss teaks many doctors are making. starting to chill down.

the bodies have found on the property a man linked to five other deaths were those of a couple. a coroner says the bodies of a 25-year-old woman and her 29-year-old husband had been buried there for about a year. both were shot to death. the property owner, todd kohlhepp is suspected in at least seven murders dating back to 2003. he was arrested last week after police found a woman chained inside a storage building on his property. california police say the man shot dead after opening fire on a neighborhood was binging on drugs. the shooting happened near two polling places east of los angeles. police say the gunman began taking drugs at least a day earlier causing his wife and two kids to leave their home monday night. the suspect began shooting randomly yesterday killing a neighbor, then holding police at bay for hours before they shot him. two other women were wounded by gunshots. maria: a new take on vitamin d from doctors. experts say too many people are getting tested for vitamin d deficiencies. when most of us are

some communities. we have comfortable comeback tomorrow afternoon with the sunshine tilted at times with high clouds and about 50-55 degrees. stronger cold front on the way. now this one is going to pass through here. i would say around noon on friday. prior to that, temperatures could get well to the 50's by late friday morning. although, windy out of the west. once the front comes through the winds will shift to the northwest and be quite strong. friday is veterans day. we want you to be aware of that. now ups and downs in the temperature department because the jetstream will be alternating between having us on the cool side and having the warmer interludes come in. one will be sunday into monday for example when temperatures will moderate yet. temperatures well to the 50's
