randy: obviously. we're having a little bit of a problem with that microphone. it's monday. let's, first of all, get an update on the traffic. emily: olessa, how are we doing? olessa: live look outside. let's go to the maps and check the rest of your ride. no issues on 95. 24 looks good. route 3. pike eastbound right now is a 15-minute ride, 495 to 128. breaking overnight, a fire has been breaking overnight in belmont, new video just in from the scene on mclean hospital property. this is not an active hospital building. again, it is abandoned. our doug meehan is there this morning. doug will be updating us from the scene on the effort to control that fire.

deadly hit-and-run in taunton. a bicyclist was killed. emily: the eyeopener's sera congi is there right now where the suspect will face a judge in just hours. sera? sera: emily and randy, a man and woman will face a judge later today here in taunton district court in connection with this hit-and-run. the bristol county d.a.'s office says it was the woman behind the wheel when the bicyclist was struck. take a look at video from the scene. it all happened on thursda intersection of broadway and washington streets in taunton. investigators say 19-year-old cecily kilsby-munfano struck 36-year-old michael alfano and then left the scene. alfano died over the weekend. the subject was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and misleading police. a second person, 26-year-old ryan o'day, faces a charge of

arraigned today here in taunton district court. live in taunton, sera congi, wcvb newscenter 5. randy: sera, thank you. right now, a florida man is expected in court today charged in connection with the murder of a man found in easton and the eye's nicole estaphan is there this morning with a new break in this case. nicole: the suspect facing a slew of charges. police do not believe he i person who pulled the trigger. michael noguera was arrested on saturday. he's charged with accessory to murder after the fact, armed robbery and larceny all connected to the shooting death of daniel smith. smith died friday after two boys found him shot in the woods in easton last week near langwater pond. investigators are looking for a cause they believe is connected to the case, a red 2016 mazda 3 sedan with a florida license

after arraignment today, officials will try to extra date the suspect here to massachusetts. we're live in easton, nicole estaphan, wcvb newscenter 5. emily: thank you. right now, brockton police are investigating an armed robbery. they say a clerk was held at knifepoint friday night at a gas station on oak street. she says two armed men ordered her to the floor before making off with $300 and her purse. she wasn't seriously hurt. police say that recently targeted. >> don't be afraid. we are going to bring our country back. randy: president-elect donald trump reassuring protestors they have nothing to fear from his administration. mr. trump was talking proposed policy and more in his first television interview since winning the white house, and the eye's erika tarantal is here with where he stands this morning. erika: trump's transition team holds its first formal meeting

at the helm, . last night the president-elect questioned about several policy issues including immigration, same-sex marriage and abortion. >> i'm pro life. the judges will be pro life. having to do with abortion, if it ever were overturned, it would go back to the states. erika: when it comes rhetoric used in his campaign, the president-elect had a direct message. >> they're harassing latinos, muslims. >> i am so saddened to hear that, and i say stop it. if it -- if it helps. i will say this, and i'll say it right to the cameras. stop it. erika: trump continued to label those demonstrating as professional protestors.

illegal immigrants who committed crimes will be deported. randy: president obama taking questions today. he'll hold an afternoon news conference at the white house before heading out on a six-day trip to greece, germany and peru. the white house says the president is expected to face world leaders about trump's election. trump is promising to renegotiate several global agreements. emily: a spike in hate crimes linked to the electi. tracking more than 300 incidents like this one since last wednesday. the center says more than 90% of the victims are immigrants, black or gay. there are also reports of 20 hate incidents against trump supporters. new this morning -- city leaders in boston are introducing a new proposal in response to president-elect trump's position on illegal immigrants.

randy: rare sight in the sky this morning. this is live looking at the super moon. looks bigger and brighter than the full moon we usually get to see around here. this is the closest a full moon has been to the earth sin emily: it looks like you need sunglasses, it's so bright. cindy: it's bright now. when it was rising, it was so large. it was distracting. i was looking at it. it's going to be setting this morning at about 6:15. a little more time to enjoy it out there. got a lot of great pictures from viewers as well. i'll share a couple with you. you can see right here we had a bunch, and we are looking at,

trying to get to because i can't show it to you until i get to the wall. this is the way the moon looked in natick last night. so big and bright. we have another shot with a gorgeous backdrop. this one from scituate harbor. just fantastic. just love seeing all your pictures. the skies are clear this morning, obviously, because we can see that moon, and the temperatures are quite chilly once you get away from the coastline. orange, keene, springfield all in the low 20's. but worcester is 44. boston is 42. there are some mid 30's on the cape. so it is a chilly start. skies are clear now. we're going to enjoy a lot of sunshine again today, but down the coast, there is a storm, and this is going to throw some rain at us during the day tomorrow. today is a dry day loaded with sunshine and a lighter wind than yesterday. that breeze this morning out of the southwest, it stays out of the west-southwest close to 10 miles per hour today with wall-to-wall sunshine.

respond this afternoon. we're going to be running a good 10 degrees above average. typical highs only about 53. we're going to be running about 63 this afternoon. boston to lawrence to marshfield as well. we're in great shape. you can see all the sunshine until 5:00 this afternoon. one or two clouds beginning to spill in. overnight, the clouds are going to be increasing. tomorrow morning, though, first thing for the morning commute, it's cloudy but dry. tomorrow. we'll hold mostly in the 40's. not as chilly as spots this morning. we'll watch the storm come off the coast tomorrow. as it does so, we'll have an onshore wind. because of the super moon, the tides are astronomically the very highest of the entire year. so that means you add a little bit of wave action with the storm, you add an onshore wind, and there is going to be at least moderate flooding at the time of high tide on tuesday

it looks like big impacts from that, pockets of coastal flooding. rainfall will be a good 1/2 inch to inch of rainfall as we go through tuesday. let me time it out, mentioned the morning commute is mostly dry. by 8:00, showers approaching from the south. and then the rain coming down pretty good at lunchtime tomorrow. heavy downpours possible as we get toward the early to middle part of the afternoon. as we get to the evening commute, the rain starts we don't really dry things out completely until wednesday as the skies clear out. look at those temperatures, though. no 40's like we saw last week. 60's today. holding in the 50's most of the week, back to around 60 degrees by the start of the weekend. so a mild november week. olessa: thank you, cindy. the ride is quiet. a live look outside by the pike. you can see no problems here. let's get over to the maps and check the rest of your ride.

93 southbound by the leverett connector, south of there, 24 looks good, route 3, 95 as well and road work wrapping up on 93 north by route 24. the pike is quiet. north of town also nice and light on 93 south out of methuen down to the leverett connector. we're expecting trains and buses to start the morning on schedule. emily: a warning for folkses have distemper. police in hudson warn animals with the virus can seem tame but it can prove fatal. >> distemper is highly contagious, especially to dogs and cats. so we are asking that people, you know, if they have one of these animals in their yard, don't let their pets out. >> keep an eye on whether i see certain animals shouldn't be out during the day.

rachel hicks was welcomed home yesterday. she surprised her 6-year-old. hicks returned home after her deployment to kuwait. emily: a group of bikers stopped to help a stranded rider in new jersey. to their surprise, it turned out to be bruce springsteen. the group tried to fix the boss' bike. when that didn't work, they gave him a lift to a restaurant. he stayed for a few and he bought those bikers going up for auction. experts believe the so-called sky blue diamond could fetch $25 million or so. the stone is more than 8 carats. the largest of its kind. very hard to find. the diamond will be auctioned by sotheby's in switzerland. another win on the road for the bruins. emily: impressive stats tuukka

randy: breaking news. emily: flames tearing through a building in belmont. firefighters trying to get the flames under control. this is unfolding on the mclean hospital property. that building was abandoned but it's unclear if anyone was inside at the time. no word on any injuries at this point. our doug meehan is at that scene and he'll have a live update ahead. randy: also breaking -- two people are expected in court today charged in a deadly hit-and-run in taunton. the crash happened last thursday

and washington streets. a bicyclist was hit and died over the weekend, and police arrested a 19-year-old who they say hit michael alfano and then just kept going. 26-year-old ryan o'day is facing a charge of accessory after the fact. emily: the man accused in a stabbing and two carjackings is preparing to face a judge. christopher harding is facing charges that started with a carjacking in connecticut. harding and another woman stabbed a woman and her daughter inside. the stolen s.u.v. hit a cruiser and parked car. harding will be arraigned in dudley. randy: a massachusetts man is dead after hiking in new hampshire's white mountains. he suffered an unknown medical emergency. 59-year-old james norton of acton was hiking near bean's purchase as part of a boy scout trip yesterday. norton collapsed on the trail as the troopers made their way

and make a quick hit during the day tomorrow. as it does so, it's going to be bringing in some rainfall. out ahead of that today, we have a mild westerly wind. it's going to be a beautiful monday. and look at these temperatures this afternoon. lower 60's here all the way down to philadelphia. a really nice day. mild in the northeast. and there's a lot of mild air across the country. no big cooldowns this week for sure. we're watching one storm as it comes up the coastline. rain is going to spread up from the south during the morning hours tomorrow, so most of the morning commute looks okay. into the afternoon. the concern we have, though, is that big super moon out there is making for high astronomical tides. couple that with an onshore flow and there will likely be flooding at the time of high tide. the most vulnerable one is tomorrow just after 11:00 a.m. at that time right along the coastline, there may be minor to even some pockets of moderate coastal flooding. it stays mild this week. we're going to break it down for you right now as the eyeopener
