his late 20s or early 30s dead inside this house. but detectives quickly learned the two men involved in the shooting were no strangers. >> we have one dead. we have the other person in homicide at this time being interrogated. >> why they argued is still a mystery, but police say the shooting was not random. the public is not in danger. investigators did collect a gun as possible evidence d interviewing others who were home in the building at the time. none of this sits well with the none of this sits well with the commissione >> always talking about the violence and how many guns are out there. this is why you got to continue to get the guns the street. mary. they are not saying if the shooter will face charges.

ed: cape cod police have arrested a man for allegedly attacking a teenaged girl at a bus stop. police say 18-year-old john allen of buzzards bay grabbed a 14-year-old girl from behind and threw her to the ground as she walked to her bus stop a week ago. witnesses say allen then grabbed the girl by the neck, nearly strangling her, before driving off. allen faces charges including attempted aggravated kidnapping and strangulation. he'll be arraigned tomorrow. maria: they say here in new england, you don't like the weather wait a minute well in colorado, they were in the 80's yesterday and dealing with snow today! and that the storm impacting colorado is on the move meaning a blizzard warning tomorrow for north and south dakota, and parts of minnesota. nebraska is also bracing for the storm. gusts of up to 60 miles an hour are expected to cause whiteout conditions. harv? meteorologist: that is dramatic. maria: that is dramatic. meteorologist: take a look.

"the associated press" reports retired lieutenant general michael flynn is being offered the job of national security adviser. flynn is the rhode island native who served as the director of the defense intelligence agency. no official word tonight from trump's team or whether flynn has accepted. ed: and will mitt romney be the next hire? the former governor will meet face-to-face with president-elect trump. th it comes months after romney unleashed some of the harshest criticism against trump by any republican. newscenter 5's john atwater is live in boston with details on that meeting. john, good evening. john: an adviser says donald trump is open to working with former rivals. but for our former governor, it would be a total turnaround. mitt romney unloaded on donald trump during the bitter campaign fighting fiercely to keep him out of the white house.

an arizona police officer under investigation for punching a woman in the face! the officer claims the woman was resisting arrest, but the force of the punch is raising some questions. this all happened in flagstaff. the officer was called to an emotional scene where a couple was being evicted from an apartment. he says the woman kicked him, and kneed him in the groin. >> i was punched in the f i was attacked. >> we init ited the internal investigation. we placed the officer on administrative leib. ed: the officer has no history of excessive force. you can hear and see her say i didn't do anything. a wild scene caught on camera outside a tampa, florida, bar. a brawl on the sidewalk comes to a crashing end when a car crashes into the bar. the driver took off, and is still on the loose.

no one was inside the bar at the time of the crash. maria: five investigates now going to the front lines of the war on opioids. it's faded from the headlines, but it's worse than ever before. investigative reporter karen anderson was with the chelsea fire department. their engine two is one of the busiest fire trucks in the country and the problem isn't fires. it's overdoses, sometimes several a day. firefighters think they got to this man just in time. but it's not all good news. the state estimates more people are on track this year to die from opioids than last year. chelsea is trying to do more than just save people with the opiate-reversing drug narcan. they're bringing together police, fire, addiction specialists, going door to door to try and get people into rehab. these outreach workers and the state tell karen that they're seeing more with fentanyl on the street. that causes its own problems because fentanyl is more powerful and less responsive to narcan than heroin. these workers and the state telling karen they are seeing

the ocean storm far out. those clouds will go back in and tend to move eastward. by tomorrow morning, we will be down to eastern mass the eastern tip of cape cod. that is where it could be overcast and rather windy tomorrow. the rest of the region should have gorgeous weather tomorrow then the low clouds may start working in saturday and from the cape and toward the cast and eventually somewhat inland so the further west you are on saturday, the longer you will have sunshine and pleasant weather as clouds will be moving in from the ocean. maria, ed? maria: thanksgiving, as we have been saying, he is rating around the corner. ed: cooking the meal will be a little lighter on the wallet this year.
