young boy is hit by a car getting off the school bus in roslindale. newscenter 5's john atwater is live on the scene with the details, john? >> you see this hill, right as a boy was getting off the bus -- >> my grandson got off the bus as the other kids did, and started to come completely across the street and the guy came down metropolitan ave, and hit him smack on -- on. and came back down. reporter: thankfully, the boy was talking, he was conscious. his grandmother tells us he is in a lot of pain. >> he was talking to me and he just kept saying that his leg hurt, he had a big gash over his eye and a bump on his head.

had already gotten himself up. reporter: police to tell us that driver pulled over to the side of the road, the driver stops and thankfully that boy is expected to recover. john atwater, wcvb newscenter 5. >> breaking news from the patriots as feared, rob gronkowski will not play sunday. >> the team just left for san francisco without him. let's get to sportscenter 5's bob halloran at the breaking news desk. this is after that hit last week. bob: gronk his third straight practice today and was not on the patriots flight out to san francisco this afternoon. he will miss his third game of the season. gronk was ind sunday night when he took this huge hit from seattle's earl thomas. there were reports that gronk may have suffered a collapsed lung but the patriots have simply called it a chest injury. the patriots will also be without wide receiver chris hogan but running back dion lewis will make his season debut . we'll have more coming up at 6:00.

donald trump, he has settled a lawsuit over his now-defunct trump university for $$25 -- former trump university $25 million. customers claimed the courses were a scam. trump has strongly denied the claims. under the terms of this settlement, he does not admit wrong-doing. >> also, breaking, an arrest warrant will be issued monday for a woman who suffered an apparent drug overdose in a lawrence dollar store. heartbreaking video showed the woman's young daughter trying to wake her mother. mandy mcgowen did not show up for a court hearing today. she's facing child endangerment mcgowen's daughter is now in state custody. it was all a hoax, a frightening call sparking a full emergency response at boston university this morning. >> this was no ordinary threat. there were some unusual signs for police trying to figure it out. newscenter 5's jorge quiroga is live in boston to explain. >> and we have learned the joint terrorism task force tonight is trying to trace the origing of that call.

entire corner of the campus. people on edge, and a lot of publicity -- boston university police telling me, the guy got exactly what he wanted. police rushing to the boston university campus around this morning, into the library and student union. >> right as i go to the door, i was yelled at and told not to go inside, what's going on? reporter: a caller telling police he was holed up in a booby trapped room on the 4th floor. alexandra fonseca at the library when the swat team rushed in, still unnerved. voice made me kind of scramble. it was a blur. >> he mention the room was booby-trapped. a short time later another call that he had just taught a -- shot a hostage in that room. >> the whole area on lockdown. >> just coming to the bu police station, it was not a robo call, it was another person on the other end of the late answering questions.

i'm lying in the driveway. >> the 63-year-old suffered a broken arm and bite wounds to the head and torso, but she is expected to be ok. police say she was walking in the driveway of her daughter's home in frederick when the attack happen. they believe the woman may have gotten between the bear and her cubs. she played dead until the bear left. that bear was later euthanized under a policy mandating death for bears that attack people. federal investigators say the barrier for the gorilla exhibit at the cincinnati zoo failed to meet safety standards. report suggests that the zoo's dangerous-animal response team acted properly when a three-year-old boy fell into the enclosure last may. the incident prompted the team to shoot and kill a western lowland gorilla named harambe. the zoo could still face fines or other disciplinary actions. >> right now parts of the country are dealing with this heavy snowfall. more than a foot of snow has already fallen in minnesota. stormteam 5's mike wankum takes

the skies are clear and off to the no and west, temperatures fall very quickly in conditions like this. those areas still could get a little bit frosty overnight tonight. the real question for late tonight and tomorrow is one of clouds. high temperatures tomorrow along the shoreline will be in the 50's, could approach 60ver th interior. there is a storm way offshore. that is staying offshore. you see the edge of these clouds, even though moving away from us now, they may start to come back at us later tonight and tomorrow. notice the clouds to just about boston by 7:00 tomorrow morning. north and west still sunny. if anything, this may make a little more penetration during the day tomorrow. the idea would be well inland is going to be bright and near the coast, especially southeastern mass and the cape, a cloudier day tomorrow.

toward sunday morning. this is the system that will a sure in the cold air. initially it's going to bring a stripper brain into western connecticut, western mass. there it will flip over to snow. we will be getting showers early sunday morning, if you are an early riser. after that the wind will start to pick up and the temperatures will start to fall. while that's happening, the snow will continue to fall in parts of the berkshires and green mountains of vermont. e in the berkshires right on up to vermont. could even be flakes in the air around the worcester hills. right now winds very light. a little bit stronger down in the cape. here you go over the next seven days. tomorrow will be your mild day, sunday is a day of change. starting with showers early in the morning, then the wind picks up, temperatures don't rise much.
