>> she was bound with restraints. she was able to summon help from a passing motorist. anchor: she is in the hospital and being reunited with families. police are searching for their captors looking for a dark suv with two hispanic women, armed with handguns. officials say an american servicemember has been killed by an ied in syria. explosion happened in the northern part of the country. about 300 elite u.s. troops are in syria as part of a multi-nation effort to fight isis. ben: a deadly wrong-way crash is under investigation right now. one person was killed in the collision on i-495 in plainville overnight. newscenter 5's diane cho is along the highway with the latest. >> troopers are still investigating the circumstances surrounding what happened including how that driver ended up going the wrong way here on 495. it happened around 2:00 this

wrong way driver between exits 13 and 14. authorities say he was in a toyota corolla going north in the southbound lanes of traffic. by the time they got to the scene they say they found that driver had already hit an suv head-on. authorities say a 21-year-old woman from barnstable was in that suv, she was taken to a hospital in rhode island with serious injuries. officials say the male driver died from his injuries they have not released his name at this time. but the investigation into how this all happened continues tonight. anchor: a woman is in the hospital tonight, after a 3-alarm fire in salem, new hampshire. dozens of firefighters from salem and neighboring departments were called in to help get the flames under control. it broke out this morning on haverhill road. a couple, who have been renting the home for a decade, were inside. >> these things happen. you don't think they are going to happen to you.

already starting to see signs of that. it is moving through in southern worcester county. frozen rain is trying to move through. as we move out that way, along 495 as well. mass pike could have freezing precipitation. future cast looking relatively quiet after 8:00. the clouds stay around and the chance for drizzle is not out of the question especially into the overnight hours. spotty showers start to pop-up. that is on we see a chance of frozen precipitation moving through. temperatures are going to be down into the 30's.

travel. as the sun rises temperatures will rapidly warm. although the rain is starting to fill in, at that point temperatures are well into the 40's. your black friday shopping forecast, slick in the morning. the showers will be in the seven-day forecast, temperatures looking rather cool. we start to dry out into sunday and see a change into the middle of the week. the jet stream is starting to go upward. so by late in the week temperatures are on a steady incline.
