diane: state police identified him. he was a football player at bridgewater state university. >> he was always having fun. x keating hit eight suv -- kitty suv. it happened around 2 a.m. thursday morning after they received reports of a wrong weight driver on 495 between exits 13 and 14. the 21-year-old was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. >> at first it was total this belief. -- disbelief. i grew up with the kid. it is weird knowing that he is gone. diane: he last saw keating at a friends house. it have been more than a year since he saw his childhood friend. it was as though time had not passed. >> i feel horrible for his family at a time like this.

remain under investigation. j.c.: a roxbury man is accused of driving twice the legal alcohol limit when he slammed into a state police cruiser. this was the scene on 93 south on the boston-milton line overnight. the state trooper inside the cruiser was taken to the hospital with neck and back injuries, but he is expected to be ok. the driver is identified as reginald pyarm. he's being held on five-thousand dollars bail. ben the boston man accused of : hitting and dragging several boston police offi e today. newscenter 5's todd kazakiewich explains. the suspect says it's a big mix-up. todd: 34-year-old vincent weaks of dorchester, showing little reaction during his arraignment for injuring four boston police officers with a car. >> he ran over for cops. talk the incident happened early : wednesday morning on stoughton

car matching the description of the suspect's vehicle. officers approach, order him out. he allegedly refuses and reaches for the shifter to put the car in drive. officers reach for the shifter too, and the keys. >> as both of the officers were reaching in the car, the defendant drove off. the officers were then thrown from the car. todd weaks then allegedly drives : into two other officers while escaping. all 4 officers are recovering from minor injuries. weaks' attorney argues police have the wrong man. his girlfriend is present. >>his girlfriend is present. she indicates that he occurred, so it could not be him. taltodd: despite the claim by weaks' girlfriend and defense attorney that this is a mistaken identity case, some of the strongest evidence comes from weaks' own sister who went to police after hearing about what happened here on stoughton street in dorchester telling detectives she rented the car involved, and she rented it for him.

$75,000 cash bail for this case, and held without bail pending a hearing regarding alleged probation violations for prior convictions last year on drug and assault charges. j.c.: a fiery scene on north street in medfield this morning. a landscaping truck caught on fire. no one was hurt, but traffic was shut down in that area until the flames were put out. ben: did you hear that? it was a sigh of relief from patriots nation earlier today when tom brady returned to joins us. is he ready for the jets on sunday? josh looks like he's as ready as : he's going to be, ben. but he wouldn't say too much about his knee injury or exactly how he was feeling. we didn't get to see him throw today, just stretch, but expect brady to be out there on sunday against the jets. he missed practice the last two days following that win in san francisco, the 199th of his career. so, while he was back out there today, he is listed as questionable for his potential 200th win.
