8:15 am
we have wind out there. kelly ann: we do. that's the big thing really for today. yesterday we were talking about the clouds and the fog. today it's the wind. that's the only thing we have to be worried about. we have the sun and really not too bad temperaturewise, although those winds are making it feel cooler than expected. here's what's going on with the winds. we have a wind speed of 14 miles per hour in worcester. boston at 13 miles per hour. so this is right about where we'll see those winds through much of today, occasionall enough that it's bringing in that wind-chill factor which already we're seeing this morning. right now our temperatures are well into the 30's, but it's feeling like the 20's. this is the wind chill. 29 degrees in boston. plymouth at 29 degrees as well. and if you're heading out in worcester, it is feeling like 23 degrees. so for much of the region, we're feeling like it's below freezing and even in the height of the afternoon, it's not going to feel much warmer. here's the wind chills as we
8:16 am
temperatures at that point on the thermometer read well into the 40's. but it's going to feel like 39 in boston, 34 degrees in worcester. so it's that wind-chill factor that's going to make things feel chilly throughout today and even into tomorrow. tomorrow morning, get those kids with those heavy jackets, because temperatures are going to feel like they're down into the 20's, especially for the inland locations. worcester feeling like 21 degrees tomorrow morning. 27-degree wind chill as we head into boston and really for much of the coast as ll doppler looking clear and cry with a few showers to the east. that system brought showers to the coastline yesterday which is moving to the east, bringing some snow to areas of maine. we're staying dry as we fast-forward to futurecast, even into the 2:00 hour. check out those sunny skies in place. of course, this is the kind of sunny skies that wants us to get
8:17 am
things feel rather chilly. moving into the forecast tonight, we're dry and clear. our next chance of rain holding off until tuesday. it's a system that's moving in from the west, bringing those showers eastward into the area, also bringing a warm front through. that's going to warm us up. we have waves of low pressure riding along the system. that's going to bring continuous shower chances even as we head into wednesday and again for thursday. so midweek rainfall is what temperatures are going to get significantly warmer. we're crossing from the 40's into the 50's for much of the workweek ahead. 54-degree high on wednesday is going to feel quite a bit war warmer, and then we're kicking off december on thursday with temperatures well into the 50's as well. so we're keeping an eye on those shower chances and how that may possibly impact the holiday tree lighting ceremony as well. doug: thank you very much. it's 8:17. checking more stories happening
