introduced to this sport for the first time or they make those steps to independence. the event was free for the wounded warriors and their families. residents at the resort hosted the families for the weekend. the "tons of fun" event brought many families to tanglewood mall in roanoke today. roanoke county parks recreation and tourism teamed up with tanglewood mall to set up the event. it was complete with activities like a bounce house, laser tag, crafts, and rides. those who organized the event say it's a great way for people to have some indoor fun. wendi schultz/tourism and event coordinator: "roanoke county parks recreation and tourism, is very concerned with the quality of life for citizens and this just adds another dimision. it gives folks an opportunity to get involved in activities and events that they otherwise ordinarily wouldn't be exposed to." the "tons of fun" event was free and open to everyone. this is the 17-th year for the event. the taubman museum celebrated

guests enjoyed perfomances by the shaolin dragon martial arts academy along with authentic chinese art. there were also groups on hand showcasing traditional dance and music from the local colors museum to put on organizers say today's event really helps to expose the community to a culture they may not know a lot about. beth lutjen/organizer "the people that would be coming here today to at the taubman because we have a new exhibit opening today also get to experience chinese culture that they may not have come to." this is the 6-th year for the event. roanoke anime con kicked off its second day at the holiday inn valley view. people from all over the area come together to celebrate anime and video games. the convention features panels, workshops, special guests and even dances. there's also a "cosplay" contest for fans who dress up like their favorite characters. organizers say the event is all about bringing together
