region. and tonight, many people are still without power. wdbj7's joe dashiell has been covering that part of the story here in the roanoke valley. and he's reporting live tonight along williamson road jean, we spent the day in three different parts of the roanoke valley that lost power early this morning. all three outages were localized, each covering an area equivalent to a few city blocks, but getting the power back on was not a quick fix. we didn't have to travel far to find significant storm damage: two lanes closed on williamson road after limbs fell onto the pavement there. a tree blocking belleville road in raleigh court. a power line and caution tape on york road, where residents like aleta delaplane were making the best of a day without electricity. aleta delaplane/roanoke resident: we're fine. i managed to light the gas fire. and fortunately we have gas, so we had soup and my neighbor came over and we've been sitting by the

sisters' investigation in bedford county was in court this morning to answer for his charges. wdbj7's tim saunders has more from our lynchburg bedford newsroom. jean, leslie engleking is charged with perjury. prosecutors say he gave false testimony to a grand jury that was trying to figure out what happened to katherine and sheila lyon, two sisters who were kidnapped from a maryland shopping mall and may have been killed in bedford county. engleking is related to a family that's being scrutinized as part of the investigation. prosecutors say engleking admitted that he gave false statements in an effort to protect one of those family members. we'll tell you who that is and explain their relationship to the case tonight at six.
