milwaukee police responded to a possible snow-related death early this morning. morning.a 55-year-old man collapsed while shoveling snow...and later died at the ho. hospital.cbs 58's lindsey branwall joins us live from froedtert with details...lindsey. the man died here at the hospital this morning. block of west keefe.... police got there just before 6 a-m shoveling is a regular part of life in wisconsin... but sadly we report on a handful of snow shoveling deaths every year.we spoke with doctor amar ambardecker from aurora health care... who says these deaths are often caused by heart attacklifting heavy snow in the cold can be hard on the elderly or people with preexisting conditions... but

she's since been released to the jail. she's facing owi and recklessly endangering safety charges. 3 a milwaukee county sherifff deputy's car was hit during the peak of the weekend snow storm. here's a look at the dam. damage.it happened on i-41 near the hampton road exit around 7-45 yesterday morning. the deputy was taken to the hospital for back pains. but is expected to be alright. the driver who hit the deputy was ticketed. in order to keep the roads safe...d-p-w says they've been working around the clock to drop salt on the streets. and today a new shipment arrived. salt arrived arrived in the port of milwaukee. it was shipped in from canada to help replenish the city's stockpile after the weekend storm. "it's always good to have enough salt we did run out a few years ago. you don't see any trucks here today but tomorrow you can expect abot 500 trucks down here shipping o" out." most of the salt will be used for treating roads. some of it will be packaged and sold. the port of milwaukee gets in about a million tons of salt each year. 3

sunday morning as the snow piled up. that meant a trip to the tow lot for some who didn't move their cars. here's cbs 58's julie parise here at bardo towing off w lincoln ave they did upwards of 350 tow jobs this weekend...and counting. counting.workers here tell me when the forecast calls for snow, they get excited.they work 24/7 with almost no sleep, but it means big profits for them. one tow driver here told me that business started picking up came, because of a lot calls for dead car batteries. then once the snow started falling, calls picked up because of accidents along the interstate. while a lot of us in wisconsin could do without the winter weather, for tow truck drivers, this is a great time of year. year.as soon as it starts snowing, we see money signs. you know, there's always going to be a vehicle on the road. people forget how to drive for the first snowf all, for some reason. we get snow every year, we're always cleaning up

defendants would be tried separately.as part of this morning's hearing, we heard from former waukesha county sheriff deputy paul rinkas.he arrested geyser after finding her and wier at the edge of a forestline back in 2014.rinkas said he read geyser her miranda rights...and she agreed to it. that geyser told him that she was forced to kill her best friend and made references to slenderman. rinkas said he had never heard of slenderman before that.we also heard testimony from an officer from the waukesha police department who arrest.and it was the first time he as well heard of slenderman. both geyser and weier have pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect and will be tried as adults. geyser will be back in court on feb 13th for an oral hearing. anissa weier is expected to be in court december 22nd. reporting in waukesha ka cbs 58 news. 3 a father accused of drowning his 3-month-old son pled guilty today. today.in late july sean

out into a pond and held the baby under water. despite witnesses trying to intervene, the child died. flowers will be sentenced january 25th. he's facing life in prison. in the past year he emerged from homelessness..with his dignity and a giving nature his dignity and a giving nature intact..only to be murdered over the weekend. his name was anthony sanders and we first him at a christmas party last year wher adopted a homeless person for a hotel stay over the holiday. anthony was the life of the party.he didn't wallow in self pity but made sure everybody was having a good time.we were there when he was evicted from his makeshift living quarters under a bridge.and over the past several months had secured housing.he battled his demons, he didn't shy away from that.but the 44 year old also never gave up hope.police have a woman in custody for fatally stabbing him at a home at 35th and villard. no motive has been released. those who

revealed they will never be satisfied with why sanders has been denied a christmas in a place of his own. the man who fell into lake como on friday...launching a massive search effort by local police agencies has been identi. identified.44-year-old michael montemayor walked a few hundred yards onto the thin ice before falling in. dive teams searched for about four hours before his body was spotted and eventually recovered. more than two-dozen police and fire agencies helped with the searff milwaukee police are searching for three suspects who committed a string of robberies all within a few mintues of each other. here's a look at where this all took p. place.the first robbery happened at a walgreens last wednesday. the suspects stole an item and took off. a few mintues later at a family dollar store they stole several things before running from the store. then the suspects stole from a pick 'n save and when a store employee tried to stop them...one of the suspects punched the

the presidential recount in wisconsin is finished. the election commision certififed the ballots this afternoon and gave an update to cbs 58's david ade... ade...he joins us now live from madison...david. after the 10 day recount it turns out donald trump woe that we first thought.the recount added 131 votes to his more than 22-thousand vote margin of victory. today officials wrapped up the recount with a press conferencethey thanked the clerks and volunteers for pulling it off ahead of schedule.in all less than two-thousand votes that weren't counted on election night were added to the total.

"the vast majority of the changes were due to either writing in the wrong number or some sort of human error. there were virtually no changes that were due to tabulators. there was one situation where there's an outdated machine. that's another thing that i think we want to think about as we go forward trying to update some of the voting equipment in the " state." in that case officals say a machine in marinette county had trouble reading some types of ink.also officals say hacks here in wisconsinmore on that coming up on the cbs 58 news at five. former green bay packers player santana dotson is being sued...a local woman says he bought hundreds of thousands of dollars of stuff on her credit card..cbs 58's christine flores joins us live in studio with the that story that's new at four... christine. 3 this complaint, filed friday, names dotson--the former

claims he owes a mukwonago woman nearly 300-thousand dollars. the complaint, while very vauge, says he refused to pay the loan when asked.. it alleges dotson borrowed at least 290-thousand dollars from a woman named kristin c. magolan back in 2014. it also accuses him of making unauthorized purchases on her credit cards of quote merchandise and services. the nature of the relationship between the two is not clear. while the case is still in its early st explains the next potential steps. 3 there's a possibility that there might be counter claims filed. he may allege that if this was a business relationship that she in fact owes him. or that any debts were satisfied. or the allege about the unauthorized use of the credit card, maybe there was authorization for that. 3 3 as the case unfolds simon says there could be more things that could be filed and more information that becomes public.stay with cbs 58 as we

studio, christine flores, cbs 58 news. 3 a jury has convicted the man charged with killing former pro-football player "will smith". the jury found cardell hayes guilty of manslaughter. this stemmed from an incident back in april. surveillance video shows smith rear-end hayes' hummer and drive away. hayes then followed smith and bumped into his mercedes. a confrontation followed...in which hayes shot smith eight times and also injured his wife. hayes now faces up to 40 years in prison. president-elect donald trump is challenging the c-i-a's findings that the russian government interfered with the u-s election. cbs' kenneth craig has more details from new york. the c-i-a has concluded russia leaked hacked emails from the democratic party's computers to help president-elect donald trump win the presidential election. but mr. trump believes the report is an attempt to discredit his victory. victory."i think it's ridiculous. i think it's just another excuse. i don't believe it."former gop rival, carly fiorina was at trump

new c-d-c data shows ?most? americans still haven't gotten a flu shot. some people have misconceptions about the vaccine which may be preventing them for getting it done. but doctors say ?now? is the time to do it. cbs' brook silva-braga has more.

updated tracking policy also lets uber track riders even when the app is running in the background. uber says the reason is it helps " improve pick ups, drop offs, customer service and enhance(s) safety." the company explained to us it was facing challenges including connecting drivers and riders. "it's totally unnecessary to this service."claire gartland is with the electronic pry information center. the group filed a complaint in 2015 with the federal trade commission charging uber with "unfair and deceptive trade practices," the ftc has taken no action on the complaint as of yet. "a step like what uber has taken here really represents an incremental erosion of the privacy that users have." the federal communications commission limits how cell phone carriers can share consumer's personal information, but gartland says

the dousman fire district saved an injured goose trapped on an icy pond over the weekend. someone had tried to walk out and get the goose themselves...but broke through the ice. the fire department responded and found that person was able to get off the
