now to a developing story... police are trying to figure ouwho shot and killed a 15- year-old girl last nig on milwaukee's north side. it happened at a home near 35th an cbs 58's julie parise is live in the newsroom.... with the latest on the investigation. family members tell us melanie johnson was inside her kitchen yesterday just before six o clock. police say that's when bullets flew threw the kitchen window, hitting and killing her. johnson.her family says she lives at home with her mother and siblings.she went to john marshall school in milwaukee. milwaukee police do not believe this was a drive by attack or that melanie was the target -- but they arent sure. at this point, police don't have a motive or information on a suspect in this shooting. we spoke last night with melanie's sister.she says her sister is just the latest victim to a violence problem here in milwaukee. put the guns down. theres too many kids losing their life with nonsense violence. put the guns down, pleasegive

st. mary's sacred heart hospital was on lockdown as officers serached for the suspect... who has since been caught. the suspect is in custody, but has not been identified, firefighters in springfield, tennessee are calling it the worst tragedy they've seen. investigators are trying to figure out what caused a house fire that killed four children . yesterday.all of the children who died were under the age of ten.an adult man was able to escape, but he is now hospitalized in critical condition.fire officials say the man may have tried to go back in the burning house to save the kids.an eight year old girl is in stable condition.the mother, brittany crayton, and two her chdren escaped without injuries.crayton was arrested two months ago on six counts of child abuse and neglect. 3 a bomb threat forces a lufthansa airliner to make an emergency landing in new york. officials say the flight was en route from houston, texas to germany.. when the bomb threat was made to the corporate office.after learning of the threat... the pilot opted to land the plane
