music legend, dated belly. brett connolly. imperato. here is a look at the coast. we have first alert meteorologist amy sweezey joining us now. we are going to need a coat this morning, and maybe this afternoon as well. amy: back to normal. it has been so warm the past couple of months, that we kind feels like. we have a bit of a breeze to, so that means windchill. there is some cloud cover that we are starting with. once it disperses, we will have sunshine and warmer temperatures. lower -- upper 50' s and lower 60' s. certainly 10 degrees colder than normal to start though. this is the change from yesterday morning. the cold front had not yet started. this morning, we are 15, even up to 30 degrees colder in some

investigators say he was with gray for every minute of the trip from the site of his arrest to the police station where he arrived in critical condition. a total of six officers are being tried for gray' s death. also today, tonya couch, the mother of the so called, affluenza teen will be asking a judge to reduce her bail. she says $1 million is too high. couch is accused of helping her son ethan escape to mexico while he was son probation. he killed four people while driving drunk back in 2013. michelle: right now, a massive cleanup ahead for southwest florida. authorities say a tornado caused millions of dollars in damage. the twister hit saturday night in cape coral. the national weather service says it stayed on the ground for seven minutes, with winds up to 132 miles an hour. more than 180 homes were damaged, more than a dozen of them seriously. governor rick scott was out to survey the damage. >> ecb' s things, and held in the

michelle: breaking news on sunrise, british rock legend david bowie has died after a long better with cancer. as managers as he passed away in his sleep just after midnight. he was 69 years old. brett: in just a few hours, will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new florida women' s hospital. the more than 300 bed hospital will include a neonatal cancer care unit and prenatal -- other prenatal services. michelle: anthony dawson was arrested over the weekend and charged with murder. run. this after drug kingpin el chapo agreed to a secret meeting while on the run. brett: jazmin walker is here with this new twist. jazmin, good morning. jazmin: good morning brett. this morning, rollingstone.com posted a story featured interview between sean penn and el chapo. >> how did you get involved in the drug business? el chapo: well, from the age of 15 and on, where i' m from, which is the municipality of badiraguato, i was raised on a ranch called la tuna. in that area, and up until today, there are no job opportunities. jazmin: early friday, mexican forces raided a home in the coastal city of low smokies. five of l chapo' s people were killed in a shootout. he was later after at a nearby hotel. he broke out of a high-security

similar software is on 11 million cars worldwide. michelle: gas prices are continuing to fall. and experts believe some areas of the country could see prices drop to a dollar a gallon in some areas. they say tumbling oil prices combined with strong refinery capacity are contributing to the drop. the state average for florida is $1.97. the average in orlando is $1.90. and you' ll pay $1.97 to fill up in daytona beach. uber is hoping a lower price will make you want to head out and take a ride. over the weekend they announced they' re cutting ride prices in 100 u.s. cities, including it' s something uber has done in the past after discovering demand for rides drops in january as people hunker down at home. pricing differs from city to city. with the forecast.

finally, some florida winter after being so warm the past couple of months. getting the kids to school this morning, yes, layers not a bad idea. they can did some of the layers later today when we get into the upper 50' s and lower 60' s. we do have some clouds though. it is kind of dark at this point. look at these numbers though, anywhere between 15 up to 30 degrees colder now than it was 24 hours ago. of course, sedate morning, at this time, the cold front had not come through yet. the cold air has now started pouring in, it has settled in thomas announced have dropped to 45 agrees in orlando. 50 degrees in melbourne. much closer to our average low temperatures. even a little colder than average in some spots. this is where we are supposed to be in january. tomorrow morning, we have a free swatch in effect for marion

so we' ll be even colder at sunrise and some parts in marion county. 39 degrees at palm coast. kissimmee at 46. cocoa beach at 50 degrees. we will have lots of sunshine later today. the air coming in will be dry. it should not a part the clouds. it will keep our high temperatures quite a bit below average. 71 is our normal high. we have been so warm, broke records over christmas. now, we are starting off, getting back to a normal pattern. conference actually come through and cool us down. 60 degrees in ocala and the villages. 63 longwood and oviedo. 63 orlando. 64 kissimmee. along the coast, some spots to the north when a breakout of the 50' s. 59 in new smyrna beach.

tomorrow morning, as i mentioned, will be even colder than this morning. we will drop to 32 degrees in ocala. 35 palm coast. tonight, we will not have the cloud cover as a blanket to keep us warmer. the wind should not be as breezy throw morning either, so that will allow temperatures to drop even more. we will stay in the 60' s through thursday. we will warm up a little bit on friday and saturday, but we will also see some rain return. here is ted with traffic. ted: we have the chopper flying up through seminole county. eastbound on the right side of the screen. you cannot see really any cars dark. it is not so bad getting into orange. moving over to our map, we are seeing things are looking pretty good on i-4 eastbound into downtown orlando.

>> local, live, late-breaking. this is wesh 2 news sunrise in high definition. michelle: right now sunrise, a man suspected in a deadly nightclub shooting is waking up in jail. the charges he will answer to in court. brett: a florida woman killed in italy, and the case unfolding this morning. michelle: a new florida women' s will have a live report in just thank you for joining us. i and michelle imperato. brett: i am brett connolly. amy sweezy is joining us now. if you are concentrating hot or iced got this morning, i would suggest the hot coffee. amy: yes, maybe even the seat warmer today. this is the coldest morning of the winter season so far for us.

it is keeping our temperatures from dropping more than they otherwise would. tomorrow, we will not have the clouds, so that means we will be even colder to start off your tuesday. today, we will get rid of those clouds out there now, and we will then have plenty of sunshine in our temperatures recovering. they will only be up into the upper 50' s and lower 60' s though. look at where we are now, we ocala. 41 in the villages. 43 daytona beach. melbourne and cocoa beach are at 50 degrees. there are the clouds that we still have. they are trying -- starting to break apart already. as we go through the morning, we will lose the clouds and end up with lots of sunshine as the dry air comes in. we have enough of a breeze that we are dealing with a wind chill. daytona beach feels like 39. orlando feels like 42.

62 in sanford. 63 in ocoee. along the coast, we will not even make it out of the 50' s at flagler beach and daytona beach. let us see was happening out on the roads, and get over to ted. ted: we are seeing quite conditions, but it is starting to get busy. choppers flying westbound could you can see some congestion on the westbound side, passing into maitland. if you leave now, lake mary to leak should be a nice 12 minute drive. this is before a weight getting into downtown orlando. for the most part, it is looking pretty good. by the i-4 onramp' s though, that is starting to see some backup. on 408, westbound in downtown orlando, conway toll plaza is only four minutes. brett: new this morning, deputies in osceola county are looking for some robbers.

two mins with guns went in the manning tashard a detective tells us that there is good surveillance footage that will be released later today. meanwhile, a state-of-the-art of the art medical facility is opening in orlando. it is designed just for women. michelle: florida hospital for women will host a grand opening at eight unique facility today at 10:00. alex villareal is live for us with more. alex: you are right. it is a big day. we are getting a look at the new florida hospital. it is set to open its doors to patients later this month. the facility is 12 stories. it is designed and entirely centered around caring for women. pregnancy care, mental health services, and a three level nick you are just some of the services that they will offer in addition to cancer and cardiac screening.

comprehensive screening for new mothers suffering from depression and other mood disorders. you can hear the sunrail train right outside the building here. the hospitals chief medical officer says their goal is to help women make their own health care h priority. -- eight chief priority. -- a chief priority. the hospital expect to care for 20,000 patients in its first year. it will hold a grand opening event at 5:30 p.m. that you can be part of. it will be free and open to the public. today, we will be hearing from hospital officials and getting a sneak peek inside. the hospital will not open to patients until later this month. back to you. brett: new information this warning about a deadly crash in pine hills. troopers say the man who died was walking in the turn lane on pine hills road at the time. he was run over near white heron drive just after $10 last night. -- just after 10:00 last night.

troopers are still investigating so no charges have been filed. today one of the suspected killers in a nightclub shooting faces a judge. michelle: anthony dawson was arrested last night. two people died and a third was hurt in the new year' s eve shooting. jazmin walker is here with the charges the suspect faces, jasmine. jazmin: dawson is facing charges. entrees mayo is still wanted. police say that a group of people from daytona and winter park pulled up in a opa-loka and confronted them and. a crowd of 50 or more gather. among that crowd was a gunman. two men in their 20' s were killed, and a beacon that' s the beacon man was shot twice in the lake but survived. police say some of the uncooperative witnesses helped dawson and mail hide evidence and get away. dawson is preferred for code today.

a $5,000 reward is offered for his arrest and conviction. brett: two people were burned around dinnertime last night at the night circle apartments. the fire was out before firefighters arrived. as a precaution, one building was temporarily evacuated. >> i' ve seen similar things but not to this scale so this is the biggest incident i' ve seen since living here. brett: the two treated for burns did not have to go to the hospital. michelle: we' ve spent nearly a year investigating florida' s prescription painkiller problem and today, a proposal based off our findings could move forward. a state senate committee will hold a hearing and vote on a bill that clears up the rules for electronic scripts. wesh 2 uncovered that it would help pain patients get their meds faster, but many doctors are confused about the rules. the new bill lays out which controlled substances qualify for e-scripts. it would also eliminate strict caps on wholesale orders for

happening today, the woman in charge of the affordable care act will be in orlando with a reminder. secretary sylvia burwell is here ahead of the january 31 open enrollment deadline. she' ll tour united way' s call center and speak with local leaders about sign-ups. before any of that, burwell will join us live on wesh 2 news on cw18 at 8:15. brett: philadelphia police are on high alert, worried that the suspect who ambushed an officer, may be part of a larger, radical group. the fbi is investigating a tip to police, that three other radical shooters are on the loose. they' re not sure how credible the information is. police say edward archer confessed to shooting officer jesse hartnett last thursday in the name of isis. he' s charged with attempted murder. happening today, a somber ceremony to mark 32 years since a deadly shooting at the orange county shootouts.

ted: 408 westbound is what we are looking at on the web -- looking at. heading into orlando, you may have to tap on the break a little bit. it is a little bit slow. here is westbound on the left now. we are zoomed into the area between the mainland and altamonte springs. it is starting to slow down a little bit. going into the fairbanks avenue area it will cost you 21 minutes. john young to colonial, that is about a five minute commute right now. 408 westbound, a bit of a slowdown. michelle: right now, italian police are investigating the murder of a florida woman. brett: 35-year-old ashley olsen from st. johns county was found dead saturday in her florence apartment. jazmin walker is here with the latest developments. jasmine, good morning. jazmin: good morning brett. an autopsy was scheduled today could she was found with bruises around her neck. it is believed she was strangled.

police say tadrous was driving with a suspended license, and on probation for a previous dui arrest and conviction in july. michelle: happening today, the accused jewel thief in an eight-month, five-state crime spree will have to answer to a judge. fbi agents arrested abigail kemp on friday in georgia. this is an old mug shot from 2011. the fbi says kemp and an accomplice held up six jewelry stores in five states, including one in florida. kemp is accused of threatening employees and zip-tying their hands in some of the heists. investigators say they tracked her down through social media. brett: this morning, we' re working to find out how a car nearly ended up in a backyard pool. take a look at these photos. these are from the volusia county firefighters. they say the car first hit a house on north wedgewood circle in ormond beach sunday. then it stopped short of falling into the pool. ormond beach firefighters were able to stabilize the car. we' re told the driver was not hurt. it' s unclear what caused the

>> good morning and welcome back. we are brightening up across central florida. amy: we are seeing a little bit of cloud cover. we will see the clouds worked out and end up with plenty of sunshine as we had through your monday. good morning, i am amy sweezey. temperatures will be colder this week. we will be in the 60' s, in fact. well below our average of 71. that will continue all the way to thursday. now that the cold front has come through, we' ll keep the cold air around until friday. when we do warm-up on friday, we will have some rain rolling in with the warmer air as well. comparing the temperatures to today to where we are supposed to be, we will be colder than average this afternoon. the 63 in orlando is well below the average high of 71 degrees. daytona beach will be about 10 degrees colder than average. i do not expect us to make it out of the 50' s at daytona beach. right now 41 in the villages. 43 daytona beach. it is 50 in melbourne.

we are seeing a little bit of cloud cover across central florida. including at lake eola. despite the clouds, look at the temperatures and how much colder it feels. that is because of the breeze we have at about five or 10 miles per hour. so, we are doing with windchill. amanda feels like 42. we will -- orlando feels like 42 degrees. off to the north, we are already seeing breaks in the cloud cover. we will continue to get rid of the clouds over the next hour or two. the sunshine will come through, the dry air will work in, and our temperatures will stay below average. we will climb to 60 today in ocala. we were hit 64 in kissimmee and st. cloud. 63 are high today in altamonte springs. and orlando. 64 palm bay.

local healthcare for women. michelle: in just a few hours, there' s a huge ceremony for central florida' s newest hospital. there will be a ribbon cutting for florida hospital for women at 10:00 a.m.. the more than 300-bed hospital will include a neonatal intensive care unit and cancer treatment services. brett: one of the suspects in a double murder outside a daytona beach nightclub is preparing for court. anthony dawson was arrested over the weekend and charged with murder. the other suspect remains on the run. michelle: troopers are deciding whether to file charges after a deadly crash in lake county. investigators say two cars collided at the intersection of county road 439 and county road 42 last night. a teen driver t-boned another car at the stop sign. brett: troopers say the man who died after a crash in pine hills was walking in the turn lane on pine hills road at the time. he was run over near white heron drive just after $10 last night. -- just after 10:00 last night. the driver did stop. so far, no charges have been filed. michelle: deputies in osceola county are looking for a robber. someone robbed the circle k on

osceola parkway just before 4:00. a detective says there is good surveillance video that will be released later today. brett: starting today, the irs office in maitland will allow taxpayers to schedule appointments. this is a big change from last year when dozens of people had to spend hours waiting outside that building. the irs says major budget cuts hurt their staffing at the facility. michelle: happening today, orlando mayor buddy dyer and other elected officials will take the oath of office at the dr. phillips center. it marks the beginning of buddy dyer' s fourth full term as mayor. the ceremony takes place at 3:00 this afternoon.
