store or google or announcer: local, live, late-breaking. this is wesh 2 news sunrise in high definition. jason: right now at 6:00, and orange county condo complex is evacuated. six people poisoned by carbon monoxide. >> another rainy day across central florida but sunshine returns in time for the weekend. michelle: caught on camera. the video and the former marion county deputy now indicted. the rain is once again our big story of the day. thanks for joining us.

that green on the radar but it is moving south of us. it is coming our way very soon. at lake eola, we have got some cloud cover and a little haze. how much rain are we going to see? amy: as much as we had yesterday. 2.5 inches of rain. we broke records all over the place with the rain amounts and there is still a lot of moisture in the at the sphere. it is not raining this morning into many prices -- places. you may still need your windshield wipers but we do not have that moderate rain we were dealing with yesterday morning for the commute. we are going to see that rain redeveloped, continuing through the morning. we will get a break around lunchtime and more rain will build act in this afternoon and evening. temperatures at this point, lower 60' s for the most part.

bit of a visibility issue because of those low clouds, blocking out the buildings. not any fog on the ground. that is going to be rolling in here closer. rain close to tampa moving into the west side of the state. that is headed our way in the next couple of hours. we are seeing some showers to the south in brevard and osceola county. let' s get over to ted. a good drive on i-4 thus far. in downtown orlando, passing through the colonial drive areas with low -- no delays, i will second. i-4 on-ramp right there, no delays on the ramps or on the 408 westbound. 408 looking pretty good. eastbound is coming at the camera from the turnpike to eight short minutes.

conway toll plaza, that is only four minutes. jason: a carbon monoxide scare has forced families out of their home. michelle: one of the buildings at the walden ponds combos is now evacuated. alex villareal has been at the scene all morning. do firefighters know the source of the gas? alex: they say it was a generator that was producing the gas and that generator was left on inside one of the units here in this building. fire crews are back on the scene and they do say that that generator was left on by construction workers helping renovate the building. that is what the fire department determined. police say no one' s injuries appear to be life-threatening. six people are in the hospital. it started with a family of four in the building felt sick. at the hospital, doctor

half of this building has been in evacuated. people will not be let back in until tomorrow so that they can make sure carbon monoxide is gone from the air before people do go back. that lieutenant says when crews got here they found another two people that have been exposed and took them to the hospital. they were able to be locked out. he said it was fortunate that they got the call when they did. carbon monoxide poisoning mimics the flu so a lot times they do not realize that what a are experiencing could kill them. the lesson here is never have a generator on indoors. we are going to continue to follow this and we will bring updates straight to you. michelle: an x-men marion county -- and ask marion county

ex-marion county officer was indicted on civil rights violations. >> this is derrick price on the county sheriff' jumping on top of him. price appearing to surrender. i want to show you body cameras price. brett: take another look at this surveillance video. price was arrested on a drug warrant. the deputy start to hit him on the head, neck, and body while he is down. at no time do you see him put up a fight. chris blair says the video should -- shook him to the core. >> all five individuals were suspended without pay. i felt their actions were egregious.

michelle: new information overnight. authorities announced three more arrests in that militia standoff in oregon. the men turned themselves in. >> those remaining at the refuge, i love you. let us take this fight from here. please stand down. please stand down. michelle: one supporter was killed in a clash on tuesday night. the protesters calling for the release of two other ranchers convicted of lighting fires on government land. jason: there is cleaning up to do in south florida. check out the scene after the storms yesterday sent a ef1 tornado to broward county. cars like this one were tossed. roofs were damaged and large trees were knocked down. one injury reported.

we are starting out today warm like yesterday but there is a difference. jason: things are going to change. let' s get to amy sweezey. amy: rain redeveloped here in the next couple of hours especially once we get through sunrise. the morning commute at this point is not like yesterday where we were dealing with a lot of rain all over the place. our temperatures today will be similar to yesterday. upper 60' s-lower 70' s for most of us. rain to our north, range where south and these rain showers here just off the coast of tampa and back in the gulf, that is the rain rolling through here in the next couple of hours. we will see rain redeveloped after we get heating going on. osceola has seen rain for the last few hours. the rest of us have seen misting.

jason: six people recovering from carbon monoxide poisoning. hazmat crews were called to the walton ponds condominium. a generator left running inside one condo was to blame. michelle: someone tried to rob and orlando mcdonald' s last night. he ran behind a counter when a couple of employees called 911. the robber took off. jason: today marks 30 years since the space shuttle challenger tragedy. the entire crew of the challenger died when a solid rocket booster exploded after liftoff. this november it is round two for medical marijuana. michelle: the proposed amendment back on the ballot and one of

jazmin: john morgan it has spent -- has spent millions trying to legalize medical marijuana in florida. past attempts by his group, united for care, have fallen short of the 60% threshold needed to pass. in 2014 58% voted for it. there are several changes. the initiative has a new title. the group replaced the word certain with debilitating. they have added two new medical conditions, epilepsy and ptsd. in addition to cancer, hiv, glaucoma, parkinson, als, and the proposal allows anyone over 21 to be a licensed caregiver. it gives the health department the ability to determine the

jason: we have some new information. but 26-year-old man accused of shooting a trooper in georgia has died. israel rodriguez again a shootout when he was pulled over yesterday afternoon. the trooper was shot in the leg and the abdomen. michelle: a gunman is in oklahoma after the man he tried to rob sent him running for his life. the whole thing was caught on tape. the gunman asked for cigarettes but the clerk fought back with a crowbar. after moments of running back and forth the suspect gave up and left. >> why did you grab the crowbar? >> i was scared. michelle: the suspect walked away empty-handed.

not be raising rates. the economy has lost momentum since the end of december and a change to the interest rates is not needed. last month the fed raise the rates for the first time in nearly a decade. >> some lucky customers in texas only paying $.39 per gallon. the station and the panhandle offered that discount for a couple of hours. the cheapest price in orlando is $1.65. a little higher at $1.85 in daytona beach. those prices down $.15. michelle: we only have to make it through another day .5 or so. amy: when you step outside, most of us are getting rain. we are going to have another day like we had yesterday.

it was steady rain all day long and only let up for a little while in some spots. more than two inches of rain in sandberg, leesburg, daytona beach, more than an inch in cocoa beach. a lot of rain wednesday. that brought those numbers way up, even close to the record for the month of january. with today' s rain, we have been talking about a record in january because of the rainfall. el nio is getting the thanks for all this extra rain. instead, we have all that tropical moisture coming in. we are surrounded by rain. rain to our north, and across central florida we are not getting the rain we had yesterday. clouds, sprinkles, light rain to the south, but this one here is the rain. it just now started to move into

that is the rain that is going to keep growing and building over the next two hours. southern brevard seeing some rain, southern osceola, not a lot of central florida especially compared to yesterday. that will be changing especially when things start to clear up. look at futurecast. rain starting to spread over central florida and had over towards the east coast. by noon, we get a little bit of a lull, a break for a short time . into the afternoon the rain fills back in again. thunderstorms and showers will be with us as we had through the evening commute. late night tonight the rain will start to die down, the clouds will stick around, and overnight the clouds will break apart. upper 60' s and lower 70' s for high temperatures today. we' ll final little bit from where we are now.

jason: amy sweezey is timing the downpours on the way. the woman that made national headlines for suing casey anthony bonding out of jail overnight. how investigators say she took advantage of a cancer patient. michelle: thanks for joining us. first we want to talk about traffic and weather because of what happened yesterday. jason: ted noah is monitoring the roads and amy sweezey is in with the forecast. we are seeing rain on the radar but it is not in central florida. ted: we have a crash right now that just popped up in osceola county on poinciana boulevard. amy: we don' t have the rain we were dealing with yesterday. we are going to see the rain we develop -- redevelop in the next couple of hours. we will get a lull and into the afternoon the rain will

that are during the day. starting off for the next hour, we are fairly quiet. you are in pretty good shape weather-wise. lower 60' s is where we are with our temperatures. hayes -- haze and fog, rain to our north, and in the gulf of mexico that area of low pressure is going to roll across central florida. the rain will start to build back in here especially once we start hitting some sun. we are starting to see rain rolling into the west side of the state. we are going to see this rain roll up into sumter and like and over -- lake and we have lingering rain in southern brevard and osceola but it is all fairly light. as far as temperatures, upper 60'

drier air rolling into central florida coming up in just a few minutes. it is 6:31. ted: a crash in osceola county causing delays. poinciana boulevard northbound approaching reeves road. use pleasant hill road . silver road at hastings could be blocking. the drive at i-4 westbound crossing over the st. johns river bridge, it is getting busier but we are not seeing any massive delays. seminole into our age is looking good. -- into orange is looking good. traffic both directions looking good in and out of downtown orlando. jason: people who live in an orange county condo complex woke up to a dangerous situation. michelle: six people treated for

one building evacuated because of this week. -- the sweep. alex: it was a generator that was left on inside one of the units that was producing this gas. the building here is being renovated and it was construction workers who left that generator on. we just talked to a couple of residents who were evacuated and they say they are very concerned about this situation and they are certain the complex has handled the situation. they are left with no place to go and told by the fire department the red cross will not help them to have another place to stay in the event of a carbon monoxide leak. the good news is police say no one' s injuries appear to be life-threatening. six people are in the hospital right now. a family of four in the building felt sick and went to the hospital.

michelle: a woman who became known during the casey anthony trial bonded out of jail on her own charges. she was accused of stealing from a cancer patient. brett connolly is here with the story. brett: many remember her for firing -- filing a defamation lawsuit. gonzalez is accused of ripping off that cancer patient. jonathan acevedo worked as a cleaning crew at star hotel and stole credit card information from a cancer patient who was also staying at that motel. the pair made 5000 -- $350 with the purchases in kissimmee. here is how deputies were able to track those suspects. stores. they were able to obtain surveillance video. they show that video to the friend of the victim who was

investigators say the two cooperated and admitted to the crime. police say it was a friend of the cancer patients that notified authorities after seeing suspicious credit card activity. gonzales and azevedo are both using credit card and grand theft charges. jason: prosecutors have released new video. it shows the murder victim with a man accused of killing her. this is surveillance from the uptown law center in orlando. stephen duxbury raped and killed density in -- her inside her apartment. michelle: a 21-year-old begins a 45-year-old jail sentence after taking a plea deal >>. christopher rodriguez admitted his role in the shooting outside the altamonte springs best buy in 2015.

jason: u.s. spy satellites are keeping a sharp eye on a satellite launching facility in north korea. intelligence officials have been observing increased activity. these officials are concerned north korea may be planning to launch a rocket. they do have the capability to launch missiles. north korea sparked outrage with a hydrogen bomb test they claim happened earlier in the month. michelle: there is new hope in the growing homeless problem in daytona beach. city leaders say they have a plan. they announced a homeless facility will be built. the volusia safe harbor. it will provide medical services and job training. the county has pledged $400 -- $400 million to build it. up next, breaking news.

mexico is getting closer so you see the rain from that is already starting to roll in. southern lake, southern sumter, within the next 10-15 minutes we are seeing a few light showers in southern osceola and southern brevard county. that rain is going to keep filling in across central florida. we will get a lull around midday and the rain will fill right back in this afternoon and evening. thunderstorms as well. we are definitely getting another day filled with the steady showers, if you downpours. -- a few downpours. temperature wise, we will climb. slow climb but we will top out in the upper 60' s and lower 70' s. i will show you numbers in just a few minutes. let' s send it back inside.

more rain on the way soon. we are going to see some really good coverage of rain today, an inch or two. even more possible on top of the inch and two inches of rain we received yesterday. through today, we get a break from the rain for several days as dry air works in in time for the weekend. some thunderstorms. rain off to our north and all of this right here, this is an area of low pressure that is going to slide across central florida in the next couple of hours. we are starting to get that rain spilling into the western part of the state and that includes polk county and even now we are starting to see some of the leading average -- edges of these rains rolling in. the rain will be growing and building over the next few hours. we have not had much rain so far but it is going to be developed -- developing between 7:00 and

osceola along the turnpike, it is pretty isolated as far as the location. visibility is down in several spots. three miles in palm coast, quarter of a mile in orlando. should not slow you down on the roads as far as visibility goes but it is definitely gray, gloomy, lower 60' s is where temperatures are. 65 and melbourne. we will climb from here today but not a lot because the clouds and rain will be filling in. hearest futurecast and watch how that rain continues to filter in and move across for the last of the -- rest of the late morning . at lunchtime we are seeing showers, thunderstorms, it all pushes slowly off the coast and once we get into the evening hours we will still see some rain for the evening commute. into the overnight hours the rain will come to an end and dry

upper 60' s-lower 70' s, 68 in daytona beach. we will be drier tomorrow, more sunshine and cooler. by sunday we are in the 70' s with a couple of clouds. michelle: 6:53. trouble on poinciana boulevard by revis road, blocking lanes in kissimmee and it is causing a big backup approaching the crash scene. pleasant hill road is are best backup plan, slow in the area. if you are driving through kissimmee, be prepared for -- to be slow. we have a crash on silverstar road, lanes blocked around the area of golf club parkway between the areas of hastings and pine hills. this is westbound i-4 coming up the camera.

peek at a crash off to the side by the st. johns river bridge. jason: these are the big stories this thursday morning beginning with the evacuation of an orange county combo -- condo complex. a generator was left running inside of a condo. this happened at the walden ponds condominium off the road early this morning. michelle: a robber is on the run after trying to knock off the mcdonald' s on south obt. he walked behind the tower but to employees ran out and called 911. the robber did not take anything. jason: a sheriff' s deputy faces jail time after a violent arrest was caught on camera. five former deputies kicking and punching a deputy back -- subject back in 2014.
