contrast with sanders over guns, health care and criminal justice reform and won't hesitate to pounce. sanders winning today. his aides tell me he raked in more than $7 million since new hampshire. clinton officials say they are happy with their fundraising figures, as well but wouldn't release an exact dollar amount. >> thanks so much. >> turn now to mark halpern. what is in her mind right now in. >> we have seen the clintons and campaigns over decades and an old political expression things are bad for her now. big loss in new hampshire. there is question within the campaign about whether she has confidence in her team. some people on her team are worried she is not performing well enough as a candidate. the fundraising figures are horrible for hillary clinton.

she has to start turning things around and winning the news cycle. the debate is important. first in nevada in caucuses and here in south carolina she has to start beating bernie sanders to give herself confidence and her team confidence. >> from the very beginning it was thought that she would do well with women of all ages. looking at new hampshire she lost that demographic by about ten percentage points. the common belief is she will do well with minorities. can she count on that now in. >> i don't think she can take anything for granted. her campaign is making inevitability argument. bernie sanders again making an aggressive push. he is on offense. she needs to do more than just defend her support of minority voters. here in south carolina african-american voters matter. female african-american voters matter a lot. bernie sanders has a message

broader electorate. right now she has more challenges. >> and, mark, on the republican side of things, it's very interesting because we are seeing the dynamic play out where you have cruz and trump. why are they continuing with this circular firing squad strategy? why don't they take on the front runners? >> it's a great question. jeb bush has been taking on donald trump and he is hoping that makes him stand out. i think you are going to see three other candidates because we are basically down to five. trump and cruz. john kasich, jeb bush and marco rubio all want to be the one who is in a three person fight. they feel they need to win that division, the establishment division before they can turn full throttle. a lot of people are saying in this state they may not get in

this may be a trump/cruz battle. godzilla and king cong are fighting. the other guys need to show they can play at that level, as well. a tragic story. maryland's governor ordered flagged to fly at half staff to honor two deputies shot and killed by a gunman. one deputy was shot in the head in a crowded panerra bread restaurant. a second deputy found him nearby and that deputy was also fatally shot. the 67-year-old gunman was killed in an exchange of gun fire with other deputies. more problems for the city of ferguson, missouri. the justice department is suing the city for not making good on proposed reforms. the doj is seeking to force the

attorney general says the residents of ferguson cannot wait longer. the royal caribbean ship battered after steering into a dangerous storm arrived in new jersey last night. the passengers had plenty to say about brutal conditions they faced at sea. janet shamlian spoke to some of them. >> reporter: passengers started streaming off the ship about 9:30 last night describing what they call a forturous trip. they say at the height of the storm a period of about four hours they thought they were going down. one of the world's largest and newest cruise ships the anthem of the sea is finally back in port. ship and royal caribbean's reputation bruised and battered after sailing directly into a powerful atlantic storm. three days before their scheduled arrival passengers couldn't wait to get off the
