6:43 am
it is not as breezy. yes, we have a little bit of a wind chill but it's not as significant as yesterday. it feels like temperatures, 42 daytona beach. 40 is the wind chill in palm coast. 44 in melbourne. we've got a lot of sun today. there will be a couple clouds here and there but mostly sunny. temperatures will climb with all the sun but we're going to keep cool air coming in so we'll only top out in the low to mid 60's this afternoon. and that is pretty close to where we were yesterday. a couple of spots will be a degree or two cooler today than we were yesterday. we'll talk more about the cold air continuing to filter in overnight tonight and how much colder we'll be even tomorrow morning, when i come back inside in a few minutes. right now we want to get a traffic update. ted: good friday morning. the chopper is up flying east along i-4. they have flown west from lake mary down to the beach line and now they're heading through the area, they passed the turnpike in kirkman. eastbound looking pretty good.

6:47 am
why is the republican establishment so reduck tant -- reluctant to embrace him. >> two questions. the establishment doesn't believe he can help the ticket in november. they think they can lose the senate and even the house if he's on top of that ticket. but he also doesn't replace republican orthodoxy. last night he talked about how planned parenthood helps millions of women with health issues. he said the world would be better with saddam hussein still in power. those aren't conservative talking points and they are concerned that going forward, there is not anyone that can deliver insults as well as donald trump that the republican party will be branded as the anti-immigrant party of fear and anger. they don't want that. michelle: did rubio do anything to help his case last night? >> he was clearly had his best performance. the same way his terrible performance thee weeks ago didn't destroy his candidacy, this doesn't propel him into the
6:48 am
he needs to win a primary. jason: thanks for your insight. michelle: this morning health officials have new concerns about the zika virus. for the first time the virus is linked to damage outside of the central nervous system. doctors in brazil say they found a case of zika in a severely malformed still born baby. they say the fetus had signs of severe tissue swelling. here at home the latest case was confirmed yesterday in orange county. this makes more than 30 cases identified across the state. >> we're running down the day's top stories next on sunrise. jason: here's a preview from new york. >> coming up on "today" what we're learning about the suspected gunman in that tragic workplace shooting in kansas. we'll hear from victims who were inside that factory. also ahead, marco rubio and ted cruz teaming up on donald trump in the final debate before super tuesday. will it be enough to slow
