learned 17-year-old michael anderson will be charged with integrate murder , charged in the shooting death of 15-year-old antwan davis. he was found shot in the head this weekend on a sidewalk near the ocoee area. the girlfriend will be charged with accessory after the fact and tampering with evidence. the girlfriend eventually told hiding. as to motive, investigators say anderson was in the process of selling marijuana to antw he shot him with a stolen gun. with this murder, very sobering news. >> michael anderson will be charged with second-degree murder. we know this won' t bring antwan back, but we hope this news will

>> it is obviously incredibly unfortunate, and our hearts go out to the families of these kids and many others in that in this situation. we hope it is a wake-up call for some young men and women that are involved in that sort of thing. michelle: the sheriff said the committee was your helpful in cracking the case. antwan will be buried tomorrow morning. angela: the search is on tonight for the man who took off from a traffic stop, injuring a seminole county deputy in the process. wesh 2' s dave mcdaniel was first on scene as has exclusive information as to how exactly the deputy was hurt. dave: a heavily bandaged left arm after deputy dean cresswell says the driver of the van he pulled over for speeding, got out of hand. a white van, clocked at 71 in a 50, was heading west on lake mary boulevard. cresswell pulled the van over, but was suspicious of the information provided by the driver. he called for back-up and tried to get him to get out of the van.

on the ground there here at east lake mary boulevard and skyway, according to the authorities, the deputy was trying to get the suspect out of the van, but the window was rolled up on his arm, so he pulled the glass out so he wouldn' t be trapped in that window. dan purcell: started to roll up the window at which time the , deputy felt quite threatened obviously, and started to pull back on the window because it was pinching his arm. dave: so it was break the window, or be dragged. dan purcell: he pulled back on the window which broke the window at that time. the driver punched the gas and drove out of the area. dave: did he drag the deputy? >> he started to drag the deputy, but he was able to break free. dave: after a u-turn the van took off. a chopper in the air and crews on the ground are searching for a white chevy van, florida license tag gdi w69 . deputies stress none of this was necessary. dan purcell: we can resolve these things very peacefully, this was a simple traffic case , and engagement with the deputy sheriff, it could' ve ended peacefully. it didn' t have to result to this action. dave: what started with suspected speeding is now

mcdaniel, wesh 2 news. angela: the search for the van is centered on the area near the intersection of state roads 46 and 415. jim: we are following breaking news on i-4 in front of the wesh 2 studios. there is an accident blocking the center lane of traffic. you can see the road ranger truck to tell people to weave their way around it. you could this and see it is in the eastbound lanes. traffic is going to back up, and because of the barriers on either side of the highway, there is no shoulder, so there is no place to move the vehicles off onto. it is a mess in traffic. this is eastbound i-4 right in front of the wesh 2 studios. deputies with guns drawn fanned out in the back of a forest city road condo complex. this after they say man fired a shot during an argument with his girlfriend early this afternoon. the girlfriend was not shot but , the stray round struck a man on a nearby work crew. wesh 2' s bob kealing reports,

very grave condition. bob: deputies with their guns drawn look for the suspect man critically injured this afternoon. an innocent bystander, deputies say, who was a member of a work crew taking down a fence separating the magnolia court condos from a small private school playground. this resident, who asked us not to show his face, says he' s at the time. tony: i don' t like it. that could have been me, you, a over there. dan: brandy moore and her family had to wait to get back to their home inside the crime scene. she says this neighborhood is marred by this kind of violence. brandy moore: it' s sad to say but i' it' s a bad neighborhood. he' s so concerned about the level of violence, he installed this network of security cameras eight in all. none of which he says captured this shooting incident. alex: the guys were doing their

i came out, i said hello to them, and then an hour after that i left and they said one of the guys got shot. bob: a sheriff' s spokeswoman says the suspect is in custody and there is not threat to the community and within the hour she said the unidentified victim remains in surgery. bob kealing, wesh 2 news. jim: we have learned there has been an arrest in this case. he is accused of attempted murder. we have a crew following details. we' ll bring you more later. angela: two brevard county deputies involved in an almost deadly shootout last year are receiving their department' s highest awards. you can see the copper-jacketed bullet that hit brevard county sheriff' s agent casey smith. here the bullet is being removed from his bullet-proof vest. this week, agent peter steed received awards for valor. he' s been credited for helping save the life of his wounded comrade. undercover agent jason roberts received similar awards last week. >>'

aerobic. it is of the net humbles you and our deputies are. angela: the awards came in the wake of a shootout that broke out when agents were trying to arrest a prostitute in port st. john last august. the sheriff says smith is due back on full duty in about six months. jim: a local woman will spend the rest of her life in prison, after pleading guilty to the shooting death of her own daughter. 46-year-old sujatha guduru shot and killed her teenaged daughter chetana in their oviedo home more than two years ago. guduru had plotted her own suicide and didn' t want to leave her daughter behind. several times, guduru had asked to be put to death, but the state said it would not pursue the death penalty. this morning, she pleaded guilty to murder and was given a madatory sentence of life in prison. brian bieber: i personally do not believe it' s a rational decision, but i understand what' s going on in her mind psychologically, and that is she

sent to a facility where she could get mental health counseling. angela: a local man will spend five years in prison and then five years probation after running down a horse. the sentence is part of a plea deal christopher todd entered last month, on an aggravated battery charge. last year, todd got into an argument with four horseback riders in orange city after they accused him of driving recklessly. deputies say todd then drove his truck at the group. one horse was killed and its rider broke her collar bone. the maintenance man at a local apartment complex is facing a murder charge tonight. 27-year-old jesse williams was gunned down wednesday night. it happened at the chowder bay apartments on holden avenue in orlando. witnesses say williams was shot three or four times for no apparent reason by 29-year-old daniel carlos ramos. witnesses also tell detectives an hour before the shooting and the two appeared to be getting along.

jim: an intense scene plays out this morning at an ormond beach intersection after a swat team moves in. police say the 21-year-old man they surrounded was a suspect in an armed robbery at a1a and oakridge boulevard in daytona beach. four other people with him in the car surrendered, but he didn' t come out for four hours. >> it is scary. there is a school right down the street from where the car was sitting, so down this was a , total shock when i came in this morning. jim: one man was questioned and released the other four were , arrested and turned over to daytona beach police. one of the suspects is charged with second-degree murder in marion county and was out on bond. angela: the woman who caused a deadly crash at a busy intersection learned her punishment today . 75-year-old cynthia guthrie was cited but not criminally charged, after she slammed into the back of a car at state roads 434 and 436 in october. jose vargas rosario and his one-year-old son brayden died,

jim: officials say the larger than expected crowds locally are in part due to troubles in panama city beach last year that led their leaders to outlaw alcohol on the beach but the young people don' t realize booze is banned here too. angela: a new con is targeting central florida drivers and it could cost you hundreds of dollars. they' ve received a red light camera ticket. the email instructs people to download a file to view the view the supposed violation, but experts say doing that will download a virus onto your computer. that allows hackers access to your private files. orlando code enforcement says legitimate tickets will never be sent through e-mail. >> no, we would never send what you are going to get is a notice from us, we will provide you from a link, a secure password, to go in and do that information safely. angela: city officials say you can always verify a ticket with them. and when it doubt, don' t click on something unless you know what it is. jim: a child falls into a canal

angela: new 911 calls tonight from the afternoon when an eight-year-old boy fell into a canal near riverside elementary school. jim: shamore franklin was rushed to the hospital in critical condition on march first. since then, wesh 2 news has asked questions about the safety of local canals. angela: today our crew was shocked at what they found upon returning to the canal that almost claimed one child' s life. wesh 2' s michelle meredith has the story. michelle: the afternoon eight-year-old shamore franklin

riverside elementary school, a school employee called 911 to get help. >> 911, what is the location of your emergency? >> yes, the location is one of the children fell into a pond over here. michelle: it happened march 1. according to deputies, the 8-year-old was walking home from school with his brother, and for the first time, they took a shortcut, a shortcut by a canal that was fenced in and marked with no trespassing signs. investigators say while walking across the pipe, the boy fell into the water. >> boy is crying. saying his brother is going to die because he can' t swim. michelle: how did shamore get in the fence? witnesses said through a hole under the fence. in the days following, orange county inspected the area, patched holes, secured the fence. despite the county' s effort to make this area safer, look what we found: this is a gate that should be locked. here is the lock and here is the chain. it' s clearly unlocked, unsecured

, right next to the blue pipe that authorities tell us that the 8-year-old was trying to cross when he fell into the water. look at this gate. this is how we found it. we called orange county most importantly to get an employee to lock the gate. so i have to ask you sir how did it get this way? >> i don' t know. michelle: i hate to say it, but this is pretty disturbing to see. the employee put on a new lock, a combination lock. and while young shamore franklin still struggles to survive -- >> and you' re in the office though right? >> yes. i hate stuff like this. michelle: the staff and his friends at riverside elementary are haunted by what happened. in orange county, michelle meredith, wesh 2 news. angela: wesh 2 news reached out to the county to find out why the gate was unlocked. they told us "the public works department had staff out there this morning with a fence contractor, but our staff secured the gate when they left. several departments need access to the area." as a precaution, the county will

combination locks in that area. jim: a man is suing disney cruise lines claiming that a cabin door slams off his thumb. acosta' s thumb was cut off and it wasn' t able to be re-attached. the lawsuit alleges disney cruise line was negligent in maintaining safe cabin doors, not warning people about dangers of the doors, or installing safety devices on the hinges along with failing to provide adequate medical care. a disney cruise line spokesperson told wesh 2 news today that they' re not commenting on the lawsuit. angela: scores of threatened gopher tortoises are on their way to new homes tonight. if they weren' t moved, they would have died from a long and slow suffocating death. a 13-acre tract on eau gallie boulevard in melbourne has one of the richest populations of tortoises around. it' s believed there may be close to 200 here. if they weren' t moved, they would have been buried forever when planned houses are built. carissa kent: it takes about six

you can see the moisture currently increasing over the next goal of mexico. from time to time, a couple showers are going to pop up. i have your one on the west side of the lake just to the west of pierson. it will be near flagler county later on. we will see rain up north from time to time. the models are hinting at that here through the early hours, and then they tried to get showers forming on the east keys -- east coast seabreeze. but the bulk of the heavy rain is across northern marion county and points on north. he will be a warm and humid night i could has been all week. temperatures primarily in the 80' s. downtown orlando calling for about 73 by 11:00. a daytona beach, 11:00 about 68 degrees.

not a big drop off, temperatures 73 degrees. a few showers from time to time, mainly up north, nothing heavy. overnight lows are fairly heavy. late in the day we are going to take some of that gulf of mexico moisture and begin to forsett east by sunset. -- force it eased by sunset. there may be a more significant round of rainfall coming through tomorrow. that is what the latest indications are right now . we are dry across the northern sections by sunday. late day showers and thunderstorms, low and mid 80' s orlando on south. if you go to viera tomorrow, you' ll be in good shape. we said the day off with mostly cloudy skies and a temperature of 81. a late day shower on bay hill saturday.
