21 people. let' s bring that photo of the suspected terrorists back up. investigators say this was taken just a few minutes before the explosions hit the airport. 2 of the men, believed to be isis fighters, were killed. a third, the man with the hat, escaped. here is from inside of the airport. this video was taken in the moments after the explosion. the man who shot this footage actually lives in raleigh. he was standing just a few feet away from the blast. he was unharmed, but 11-others were killed and dozens more were injured among them, 3-mormon missionaries from utah. all are expected to survive. these attacks come just days after the arrest of one of the men involved in the paris terror attacks, salah abdeslam was picked up in brussels. he too claims to be a member of isis. s no word if his s attacks are related. several raids have taken place

we will of course continue to monitor the results from international investigators and bring you the very latest, right here on wesh 2 news. jim? meredith: a flight bound for orlando sanford international airport left brussels just moments before the attack. only chopper 2 was there as the passengers left the plane, and were subjected to increased security screenings. wesh 2' s dave mcdaniel spent the day at the airport. he joins us live with more. dave? dave: there was significant extra security waiting for it. of course, that security continues. delays here have been almost an hour through customs. people who landed at 1:00 are still inside the terminal building. people go through every single item. a good number of people are still inside.

brussels almost simultaneously with this horrific terrorist attack. >> the heavy police president -- presence. once the plane landed from brussels, it was kept a good distance away. passengers were eventually bust to the terminal. the people on board never knew what had happened. >> nobody knew. my family told me what happened. >> a lot of happened since you guys were up in the air. worried sick, she called once the plane landed. >> i can' t wait till they' re here.

the plane for the return trip to belgium. everyone i talk to belgium, people feel lost. people don' t know what to do or what to think. reporter: the passengers on board did not know what happened in brussels. only when they landed in orlando was going to occur. this plane will eventually go on to miami. now, sick about her mom dad and grandmother. she saw them just moments ago. jim: the violence in brussels triggered an immediate reaction around the world.

anything suspicious, and the airport encourages passengers themselves, to report anything that appears unusual not just today, but at all times. live in orlando, greg fox, wesh 2 news. jim: wesh 2 will stay on top of the latest information coming out of brussels. you can also see updates on wesh. com and on the wesh 2 mobile app. and then tonight, immediately out an hour long nbc nightly news with lester holt. right now a stretch of the 4-08 has re-opened, after a semi-overturned this morning. it shutdown one of the major arteries that connect i-4 to the state road 4-08 toll road. the crash happened at the tail end of the morning rush hour. orlando police say when the truck was going up the ramp, the weight of the furniture it was carrying shifted, causing it to overturn. the driver was not seriously hurt. meredith: tonight we' re learning new information about a late-afternoon shooting this week, that left 1-person dead in apopka. it happened yesterday, near a playground on 15th street. today we learned the name of the victim. he' s contondre bryant, just 18-years-old.

in the apopka area in just a matter of days. wesh 2' s michelle meredith joins us live from apopka, with reaction. michelle? reporter: people are outraged. the neighbors tell us the shooting happened right down this bike path. >> people have to understand that this is family member that we are going to be missing, a part of us that is gone. end nats oudn >> my mom called me and said people were telling her that he got shot. you had to be upset i was very upset i kept crying. contondre is apopka' s latest shooting victim. investigators say while at a gathering with a group of people near 13th street contondre was gunned down by a passing car.

>> it is not all about being a snitch it is about giving the family closure so we can feel better and get justice served this marks the third shooting death in apopka in less than two weeks. in two cases the victims were teenagers. contondre bryant was 8een. investigators say this past saturday 15-year-old destiny bargman was shot and killed by a 16-year-old handling a firearm. and on march 11, 34-year-old sean ware was shot and killed allegedly by his girlfriend. the orange county sheriff' s office says they continue to work with the community/ work with churches have stepped up patrol of marked units. but tell us law enforcement needs help. guns are getting the hands of the young. >> what' s going wrong? >> firearms, the availability of individuals not securing their firearms. we support the community in having the rights to firearms but you have to do it responsibly

when neighbor told me that at some of them go up someone is turning them down. jim: some big news from north of the border. notorious toronto mayor rob ford has died. he was elected in 20-10, and was the subject of several controversies. the most notable was the release of a video in 20-13, showing ford smoking crack cocaine. ford wound up admitting to it. he passed away after a battle with cancer. rob ford was 46-years-old. some locals are on a tonight. after four armed robberies. police say they think -- a composite sketch of one of the men has been released. all of the holdups happened as the victims were leaving their cars. none of them were hurt. wesh 2 spoke with one of them today.

>> he said it' s i didn' t turn around i would shoot you. i just gave him my wallet. meredith: fire sparked at the festival of the lion king show at disney' s animal kingdom yesterday. the trouble started in a float. the theater was cleaned and the show resumed at 10 this morning.' no one was hurt in the fire. so far, no word what started the fire. a boat, abandoned in the intracoastal in daytona beach, led to an emergency response. someone saw the boat, and thought it was sinking. they called 911, believing the people on board were in jeopardy. as it turns out, the boat was one of many, left behind by owners. >> we get frequent calls overtaxing the public safety system responding to these supposed boat emergencies hundreds of abandoned boats litter florida waterways,

if owners can' t be found, often taxpayers wind up footing the costs of removal. jim: we' ve learned new information about a massive fish kill in brevard county. it' s a story that has a lot of you talking. thousands of fish dead, and filling up the banana river lagoon. some in the area say the smell of it will bring you to your the opinion from state it' s an algae that turns the water brown, and can kill fish. biologists confirm this is one of the most widespread fish-kills in recent history. they say the fish cover about 80% of the banana river coming up, wesh 2 talks to some local police recruits, who are crediting with saving a man' s life. plus, 80-thousand bees removed from a local community. and an update on this dramatic boat fire yesterday in orange county, which unfolded on dry land. and wesh 2 returns to the scene of a nasty brush fire, which burned a bit too close for comfort for some local homeowners. eric: we are tracking some

>> you are looking at a scene out of brussels. at least 30 people dead, more than 200 wounded. we are going to see a lot more of these coming up in the next 24-48 hours. 80,000 honey bees are finally removed from a gated community called the grasslands. a man mowing a yard came across the huge hive. a beekeeper says the bees had been there up to two years. they' ll be relocated to a bee farm. meredith: tonight we are still waiting to hear from investigators, looking into this boat fire yesterday. it happened on dry land, just north of the bithlo area. the boat was spotted by chopper along county road 13, just a few yard from the water. this is in the little big econ state forest. firefighters had to bring their own water. so far, no word on any injuries. the fire did spread to the

investigators are still trying to determine what sparked yesterday' s 20 acre brush fire in avalon park. crews remained on scene overnight making sure the fire didn' t flare back up. today, residents surveyed the damage seeing how close the fire came to engulfing their homes. resident a flier saying they' re looking for an arsonist. however fire officials are not confirming if they believe this they' re only saying this is an ongoing investigation. the cause has yet to be determined. jim: the trios quick thinking. >> all of a sudden we heard this crash. we see a car in the canal.

as we come closer and closer, the car is starting to submerge itself. to look up the steep sides of the ditch, it' s amazing the car did not overturn. william hicks was one of three police recruits attending the event. to get him out of the vehicle before the continue to slide in. all three had already been identified by the police department as promising members of the economy class. the biggest thing for me it to save someone. it is been 11 weeks before hicks can put on a badge and a gun. the chief says he already knows.

>> metro stations in washington d.c. are also seeing an increase in security. officials say there is no known threat to the d.c. metro right now. but they say extra sweeps and patrols are being conducted out of caution. automated messages are posted throughout walkways saying if you see something, say something. metro officials say they' re monitoring developments in brussels. 3-people narrowly escaped a house fire in maryland last night. fire investigators say the blaze started in a mulch pile, piled near the home. it happened in damascus. investigators say someone threw out a cigarette in the mulch.

damage was done to the house. no one was hurt. fire sparked at the navy yard in south philadelphia last night. it happened around 9. the fire spread to a nearby carrier, but the ship was out of service and no longer in use. marine units helped fight the fire, which was quickly brought under control. no one was hurt. 2-people were shot last night on the campus of georgia state university. police say it happened in a parking lot outside a dorm. it allegedly was a drug deal. the two people involved got into an argument, and both pulled out guns. 1 guy was shot 3-times, the other once. both were taken to the hospital for treatment and both are expected to survive. right now police in delaware are investigating the deaths of 5-bald eagles. the birds were found in the southern part of the state, but so far police don' t know what killed them. wildlife officials have been called in. they are the same group looking into the killing of 13-bald eagles in maryland last month but they say a link is unlikely. in my opinion, and what we' re looking at so far is that due to the time frame 30 days the distance apart, that these are two separate incidents. officers are looking into the

morning. at the shores resort and spa on the accuser told police she and pajaro were sharing a suite, but slept separately. she says she woke up and he was performing a sex act on her. swing across central florida right now. lots of families are visiting theme parks, but the young crowd is in daytona beach for the third week. hundreds of people have already been arrested or cited, mostly wesh 2' s claire metz reports. college students continue to arrive in droves along daytona beach. but there' s a new crowd added to the mix, local high school students are on spring break and all of those numbers combined create quite a challenge. the beat of spring break goes on louder than it' s been in years. along with the smell of salt and suntan lotion there is that distinctive smell of suds in the air and over the last few weeks copious amounts have wound up in the sand.

be shot. stewart: a body was found lying in an ocala street, now police are trying to figure out what happened. the man was found on northwest second street, near silver springs boulevard. no cause of death has been determined, but investigators are calling it suspicious. the man' s name has not been released. anyone with information is asked to contact police. stewart: 3-young men were killed in a car crash last night in sarasota. police say the car crashed into a tree, and split in half. the driver and his two passengers were all 21-years-old. a 4th person, who survived, just turned 21 himself yesterday. he is expected to survive. right now speed is considered a major factor, so far no word if drugs or alcohol played a part. right now the state attorney is continuing the investigation of 3-kissimmee police officers, who are accused of providing false testimony during a court hearing. officers felix echeveria , taylor mcfee and tiffany hall have all been suspended pending

investigation. this is surveillance video of an arrest at a kissimmee hotel back in november. it appears one of the officers has a key to open this door, but a charging affidavit signed by detective hall says a drug dealing suspect opened the door for her, then gave her a plastic bag filled with marijuana. right now a west orange county lake is closed, following a sewage leak nearby. there are concerns that sewage may have spilled into lake rose. that' s near apopka vineland road. it happened on sunday. the water is being tested for its bacteria levels. so far, no word when those results will be available. report tonight, which is shedding new light on a deadly plane crash. stewart: a home built plane went s brett connolly explains, transportation investigators think engine troubles may have killed the pilot and their passenger. the national transportation safety board says multiple flights reported hearing mayday calls over the radio near the crash site. and heard the pilot saying he lost his engine right before the

the mess of debris is all that is left from what officials call an amateur built single engine plane. 10 days ago the aircraft went down in an empty field behind the skytop view rehab center at south lake hospital in clermont. the pilot dane sheahan and his passenger james kos both died. a report released this morning from the ntsb says radar shows the aircraft reached a height of 26 hundred feet before rapidly losing speed. one witness telling us he was outside his home at the time. >> saw there really wasnt a fire going on so went ahead and approached and saw the guy was gone reporter: another witness telling investigators the engine was not making any noise as the plane made a 180 degree turn and continued to descend out in the distance. transportation officials say their were clear skies that day and visibility up to 10 miles. according to the faa the pilot had a private pilot certificate
