they were bored. 22-year-old christopher lane played baseball in duncan, oklahoma. he was shot in the back from a car while he was out jogging. >> i am appalled. this is not supposed to happen in this community. >> reporter: prosecutor jason hicks said one of the accused, 15-year-old jason edwards actually danced as he was taken to jail. >> this whole thing was one great big joke. he thought it was funny. >> reporter: listen to the just released 911 call from a passerby. >> there's a young man, he's just in the ditch. and he's got blood on him. he's got blood on his back. >> did he say what's wrong with him? >> he said he's shot. >> he says he's been shot? >> he said he heard the shot and he knows what the car looks like. >> reporter: james edward and chancy luna were charged with first degree murder. 17-year-old michael jones was charged as an accessory. this video posted online shows edwards laughing and aiming a

rifle. there was raw emotion among the families outside court. >> i don't want the say no more. please just get the camera out. >> yes, he is a good kid. >> reporter: the victim is australian and the mindless brutality of the murder is causing outrage in his native country. a reporter is covering the case for australian tv. >> there have been calls for australians to boycott america as tourists because of, you know, the perceived lax gun laws in this country which a lot of people are blaming for the murder. >> reporter: chris lane's american girlfriend sarah harper made a pilgrimage to the makeshift memorial marking the spot where a young man was gunned down just for kicks. >> this is where he was last alive. so i like being here. >> diane: the three teenagers were tracked down after the car they were riding in was caught on a street camera.

a doctor's here. i said what should i do? and he said you're doing it. >> reporter: the foot was placed into an ice cooler provided by this hot dog vendor. the doctor says a crucial step was missed, that the foot should have been brand in a moist towel and a plastic bag before going into the ice. >> avoiding direct contact with the ice so we don't frostbite and freeze the tissue. >> reporter: the foot probabl could not have been saved anyway. and those good samaritans did save the life of a young woman who dreamed of coming to new york but never dreamed her trip would take such a tragic turn. >> diane: the taxi driver was not charged criminally. and he has three prior blemishing on his taxi record. meanwhile, the young tourist's parents and her boyfriend are on their way to new york city from london. she is one proud papa,

bachelor and suffered a string of other heart breaks. it's just too much to bear. she went to the condo she shared with anderson in new orleans and emailed friends to say farewell and then tied a vacuum cleaner cord to the staircase and brand it around her neck. gia actually called her mom and in the middle of the conversation hung herself. her mom told police that the phone simply went silent. the suicide is on the cover of the new "us weekly." when ryan anderson discovered her 30 minutes later, he screamed, why gia, why? and attemped to give her cpr. >> 30 times? >> don't stop until someone takes over. >> go until the paramedics come. >> reporter: sadly, gia could not be saved. she documented the last weeks of her life on instagram. a night out on august 5th. snuggling with her puppy. goofing around with her

boyfriend. we know behind the cheerful smile, gia was desperately unhappy. she was just 29 years old. >> diane: gia's fun value taking place on thursday in new york. a film maker who organized a frightening hoax involving a grenade launcher insists he's not a terrorists but police were not thrilled by the video that went viral and a jury didn't see it as a joke either. >> reporter: this arizona man says he is no terrorists. >> i am the furtherrest thing if a terrorist. >> reporter: a jury convicted michael turley of carrying out a terrorist hoax after he filmed his teenage nephew walking around with a fake grenade launcher. turley posted this video on youtube following the horrific movie theater shooting in colorado. he said he was trying to test the response time of local police in phoenix, arizona. and he also filmed himself. >> a few days ago, a lone gunman walked into a movie
