his trip to the lone star state will get special attention after texas governor rick perry released a series of attack ads in maryland criticizing martin o'malley's tax policies. half $1 million was spent to lure businesses from maryland to texas. governor o'malley has dispensed the ads as a pr gimmick. the streets around downtown baltimore's mitchell courthouse are open again after an explosion shut down the area for several hours. we have confirmed that an m-80 went off outside in a trashcan thursday and witnesses say it sounded like a gunshot. a four block radius was sealed off and a robot was used to check for other possible devices but none were found. hundreds of people were inside the courthouse when the explosion went off and several others watched from outside. >> the lid had been blown off and there was some scraps of

aluminum but shards of metal. it was smoking. people were just covering their ears. hurtolice say no one was and there was no real threat to the public. the power is back on and flights at bwiared for takeoff after lightning struck a control tower thursday afternoon. an air traffic controller was shocked by the lightning bolt and had to be rushed to shock trauma. the lightning struck the tower around 2:20 p.m. yesterday and traveled throughout a panel to an underground piece of equipment. thearked over to strike airport employee. the jolt of electricity knocked the victim to the ground and he has since and released from the hospital. >> the chances of it happening while he was reaching over to turn on a piece of equipment at the exact same time the lightning hit the tower, he could play the lottery. >> no flights took off for more than two hours.
