[captioning made possible by constellation energy group] captioned by the national captioning institute --www.ncicap.org-- >> good afternoon. i am sarah caldwell. a carroll county team remains in article division of being struck with a hit-and-run crash. as families begging the driver to comport jerod 18-year-old michael hatfield was hit just before midnight saturday as he was trying to cross the street at liberty road in taylorsville. the driver slowed down slightly after the crash and then took off. maryland state police say the lack of as and as -- evidence make the investigation debacle. -- difficult. >> anyone could have had this accident, hit someone in the dark, wearing a dark jacket, but when you pulled away and left him, that was something -- you did intentional. you had the opportunity to do the right thing. now that the accident is over, and you have not come and we are begging you to do the right thing. >> at this hour, hatfield is in a medically-induced coma, being

treated for a brain injury. right now, a man is behind bars after a nine-year-old boy was gunned down. in city police say this man, 37- year-old kenneth graham, broke into the home late tuesday night. according to police, the boy's mother tried to stop graham, but he forced his way in, and after a struggle, the nine-year-old boy was shot in the stomach. policemeras helped identify and arrest graham, who now faces attempted murder charges. in west baltimore, a firefighter is nursing some minor injuries after an early morning house fire. fire officials tell 11 news the fire started just before 1:00 a.m. inside a two-story home in the 700 block of north greatly street. firefighters under virtual in an hour, and everyone made it out safely. the injured firefighter was taken to mercy medical center where he was treated and released. police are looking for the woman who robbed a carroll county bank in new windsor. here is a picture of the suspect. take a close look. --ing the teller a note in

demanding cash. she is a white female, approximately 35 years old, five foot eight to 5'10". a gray last seen wearing hooded sweatshirt. if you think you recognize her, call the carroll county sheriff's office. in howard county today, a judge will sentence the man convicted of shooting and killing a bail bonds woman. 23-year-old dominic mcdonald was found guilty back in may of killing 42-year-old megan -- nicole mcnair. mcdonnell shot and killed mcnair in columbia when she was supposed to be making a bill payment. mcdonald faces up to 65 years in prison. a heated debate on cnn i between" went than governor martin o'malley and texas governor rick perry. they gave a chance or o'malley to respond to perry's attack ads. great companies, lockheed martin, marriott, others in maryland, and they are great companies went and we are

more than 5000 gallons of oil have now spilled into the flooded rivers in northern colorado. a report released wednesday showed the damaged tanks spilled oil to the south platte river near the town of milliken. the company that owns the tank has put absorbent booms into the water to soak up the oil. old girlia, a 14-year- is back safely at home after being abducted earlier this week. police say intruders demanded jewelry and money from the family and then kidnapped 14- year-old perez when they were told there was nothing of value. she was found later. >> it is good to see that she is safe. >> right now, clayton county police have too been in custody, but they are looking for two other suspects in this case. still to come on 11 news at noon , dr. kim hammond is here to answer your pets questions, and there are only 96 shopping days left until quite -- until christmas. >> we have been enjoying

53.5 million dollars. finally, as part of child passenger safety week, the nationals highway safety and administration is issuing reminders about the importance of child restraints. according to an agency report, more than one third of children under the age of 13 killed in car crashes in 2011 were not in a car seat or wearing seatbelts. more than 600 events are being held across the country where certified technicians will inspect car seats and show parents how to correctly install and use them. motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children. the thick ofin fall per mere season, and one new thriller on nbc is being hailed falls best new drama. we are talking about "blacklist ," and we are joined right now stars, diego shows and ryan eggold. oh, only brian, i apologize for that. >> i will speak for diego. he is very tired, he has been

we will have our rain chance coming up this weekend. for today, stoke up based on what you can. temperatures between 74 and 79 degrees. sunset at 7:08 p.m. for tonight, we will see temperatures between 50 and 59 degrees, mostly clear out there with calm winds as well. here is what is happening in the atmosphere as far as the tropics. we have a disturbance or the gayest mpp -- we have a disturbance around the bay of campy key. it will turn into a tropical system appeared we are watching just outside of the miami area in the atlantic, another disturbance, 20% chance of turning into a tropical cyclone. things to keep an eye on in the tropics. it has been quite, but we could see more activity. meanwhile, here is the big story for us in the coming days. another cold front will come through, and this may put a damper literally on your weekend plans. that front should push through between saturday and sunday. the head of efron on saturda this is at 1:00 in the morning, we can already see the clouds
