the scene was a few hours ris. a city still under the state of emergency following the november terrorist attacks. the man shot and killed today. he wore a fake explosive vest and threatened ance to the police station is there in paris. this came on the anniversary of the deadly attack at the french per charlie hebdo. a man who smashed windows around downtown cleveland will spend two years on probation in a special mental health program. we were in court as the judge the man this morning. he smashed the windows of five buildings, including those of the new cuyahoga headquarters. he pleaded guilty last month. alls trying to learn more about a shooting in maple heights and this was last night outside of an apartment building on lee tell us they found a 31-year-old man pleading -- bleeding on the sidewalk and it's not clear if anyone was

and now at noon, let's check on the weather forecast. >> and a beautiful day today, leon. plenty of sunshine again and we're in early january. and when we're seeing sunshine like this and temperatures well into the upper 30s and lower 40s, we file this away as a good weather day. now, we're tracking rain, but as a buddy on the floor crew here mentioned, rain is not that bad. you don't have to shovel rain. i do agree with that as we head through the next few days. cleveland under mostly sunny skies. a few high clouds and that is the only issue. menner, 44 and same deal north royalton, chagrin falls and this is pleasant when you add in the enbenefit of sunshine. -- the benefit of sunshine and live radar is not finding anything and this is that next chance of rain to the south and west. we're going to watch this move in and there is your next batch

we want to give you a look at this citation issued to him by north homestead police on interstate 480 on saturday, january 2nd. the same day he was here at browns team meetings earlier in the day and also the same day he was reportedly seen in las vegas later that night. the citation is for expired tags issued around 8:30 saturday morning. again, filed yesterday by north homestead police. combine that with the latest list of issues manziel had this year, including partying at home during an offweek, a public dispute with the girlfriend and missing mandatory treatments about with team physicians this past sunday, it's a fair question to ask whether manziel played his last game in cleveland. it should be noted that manziel attended exit meetings here at the browns facility on monday. reporting in berea, nick foley for news channel 5. and many thanks for your report, nick. there are new details today on a fire at a cleveland junk yard.

there were loud pops and explosions that could be heard throughout the night. the junk yard is located on pearl road right by the cleveland metro park zoo. right now, it's unclear how the fires began in the junk yard. explosions were heard there. and criminal charges could be filed against a used car dealership in akron. the partnerships at the akron- beacon journal report the state attorney general's office received dozens of complaints about phoenix indoor auto sales. customers said they never received their titles, which prove ownership of vehicles. without the titles, they can't register their cars with the state of ohio. the beacon journal reports the phoenix indoor auto sales is out of business now. and still ahead here on newschannel 5 in the noon hour, vice president joe biden echoing president obama's new gun policies. his comments come as he expressed regret for not running for president. >> and netflix is about to get a whole ton of new customers. what big announcement the company made.

>> all we're talking about now is enabling the laws that are on the books with overwhelming support including nra-supported background checks. enable them to be able to work and personnel to enforce the law. >> the president will continue his push on gun control tonight. president obama will host the town hall meeting at george mason university in fairfax, virginia. it's scheduled for 8:00 tonight. and vice president joe biden is also talking about his decision to not run for president. in an interview with nbc connecticut, mr. biden said it was a decision he regretted every day but at the same time, the vice president said it was family. biden's oldest child bo died in may of brain cancer. the vice president joe biden has been very open about talking about the death of his an emotional toll. coming up today at the noon hour as we continue, stage pressure.

happening today in washington, d.c., a new bill is expected to be introduced which would strip comedienne bill cosby of his medal of freedom. it comes as cosby was indicted on sexual assault charges filed iacs woman in pennsylvania -- filed by a woman in pennsylvania. yesterday, he learned he will not face charges in two assault cases in los angeles. in one case, the prosecutors said there was not enough evidence and the other prosecutor said the statute of limitations had expired. and it's another day of work for most publics, for many millions of americans who played the big powerball lottery jackpot last night. they went to work because no one won in the lottery drawing so that ups the money for the next one. now, you have a one in 292

single digits, this air mass will move in. in fact, in a week or so, five or six days, we're potentially looking at a big time arctic air outbreak that can take our and into the teens. enjoy today. temperatures in the mid-40s as you head out and about this afternoon. they will eventually fall off into the lower 30s and maybe a few upper 20s. hour-by-hour, again, quiet tonight. anything outside tonight, the outdoor plans, you'll be okay. cold. this is where things get interesting. this is tomorrow morning at nine. notice the rain showers for the patches of pink. 10 times. that indicates where we may have a little bit of mixing. so, freezing rain potentially, i don't think we will see much in the way of sleet or snow, but we will have to watch for surface temperatures very close to freezing and then rain

temperatures at the ground. that could indicate a little freezing rain. by the latter part of the morning tomorrow and into tomorrow afternoon, we're talking about rain. it will be a cold rain. temperatures tomorrow in the low 40s and look at this. the temperatures for saturday, we're into the 40s, too. a few scattered showers. and the cold front for sunday. forty to 43 right now. we may add a degree or two through the afternoon and high clouds will be warmer and certainly pleasant this time of the year. thirty tonight. that is a pretty warm overnight low. a few clouds around. the seven-day forecast is interesting, of course. you have the rain chances for friday and saturday. sunday. look what it does to the lows. how about a high next wednesday of 18. cleveland star 102 and 98.5
