plea deals in ohio courtrooms has been shot down by the state supreme court. the proposal would have put a stop to defendants who plead guilty to lesser crimes that don't match the original crime. one cuyahoga county judge says that's the case with deals that reduce a rape or sexual assault case down to a kidnapping. 19 students hospitalized after three buses crashed are expected to be okay. today some say seat belts could have kept them from getting hurt. derick waller is live in streetsboro. derick, it seems the police chief wants some changes. >> reporter: the chief says has to wear a seatbelt so why don't these kids? but not everybody agrees. dash cam video shows police rushing to the scene wednesday. klain-reaction crash sends one bus driver and 19 high school students to the hospital

lawmakers announced the creation of the medicinal marijuana task force. the task force will sort out questions like where would pot come from and what conditions are eligible for a marijuana prescription. and today police in streetsboro say seat belts could have protected 19 students injured when three school buses crashed yesterday. we asked the ohio school board association about why buses are not equipped with belts. it says studies show that high seat backs and limited windows are enough to protect the students. no one in ohio had one of the three winning tickets for the powerball jackpot but our millionaire. we spoke with the owner of the newsstand where the million dollar ticket was sold. he says his store gets $1,000 for the sale.

earlier in our newscast we told you about a canine police who received full honors at his funeral. we want to take a look at what it takes to train the loyal canine. in this case we are focusing on the most rigorous canine training program in the world. navy seals. the special operations forces overwhelmingly chosen from one breed, the belgian. it's vital that dogs are comfortable with the sound of gunfire so they two through conditioning.
