the latest closings at 4:30 lorain police have made an arrest in the weekend murder of a 57-year-old woman. police officers took the victim's family -- victim's boyfriend into custody. >> the forces teamed up to make an arrest in this case. it had a neighborhood and family wondering what could have been done to save her life. >> we were talking to her before she got married. >> he can't believe his cousin, charleston, is gone. police have arrested her boyfriend, 57-year-old anthony wayne davis. police say davis allegedly shot charleston who at her west seventh court apartment. police believe it was motivated by a domestic argument. charleston's family member said

just hours after the shooting. >> when i was leaving to go to the hospital to see about mykonos, he stopped me -- about my cousin, he stopped me and said is charleston dead? i said yeah. he took off running. i didn't know that was him. >> davis was convicted of rape in 1989 and attempted murder in 1991 but released from jail in 2004. >> for somebody to attempt murders a couple time, i don't think he should have been on the street. >> family members said they would have warned her about him if they were aware of his violent past. >> she was always happy, loving person, mom to those that didn't have a mom. >> davis has been charged with murder in this case. a vigil has been set is up for charleston this coming friday in front of her apartment. report aring here in lorain, 5

>> lorain police say anthony wayne davis has an extensive record of drug arrests, assaults, drugging trafficking in 2008. arrested for heroin distribution in 2009. yes, i'm in danger. >> where you at? >> washington street. cops in danville are in danger too. >> that's the beginning of the chilling 911 call made by the ex girlfriend of the man now accused of ambushing and killing an ohio police officer. that call came in 20 minutes before the danville police officer's body was found behind the town's municipal building. his weapon and cruiser missing. >> my ex boyfriend is out in cam moe looking to kill a cop. he's got my house keys, truck keys. he's got guns on him. he's already beaten me and threatened to kill me. >> you want me to send a cop to your house?

>> officers attend several training sessions per year from street survival to firearm safety. sheriff's deputies started specialized training to prepare for ambush shootings. it's based on real life situations like a gunman opening fire, officers at a restaurant in a crowd or in their cruisers. a fourth scenario, an officer lured to a home for an identity theft case. >> for officers to see how they'll perform under that stress. >> instructors believe the training is much needed, and they're thinking about offering it to law enforcement agencies throughout ohio and in other states. police departments across ohio are reacting to the ambush on social media. one post is raising eyebrows. hunter with the wayne county sheriff department posted a picture of the electric chair today with the caption, time to bring back consequences.

today in a video on the department's youtube page, captain hunter says he makes no apologies for it. >> it's silly to get upset about a picture like that it was posted to draw attention to the fact i believe in the united states, we no consequences. care. i hope you understand. if you got offended, get a little thicker skin because that's the way i feel about it. >> captain hunter says the sheriff support this is post. he addressed comments about the day the picture was posted and says is it has nothing to do with martin luther king, jr. day. it is something you probably would not expect from anyone, let alone a teacher. how police say she was taking kids on a weekend adventure. plus a threat already looking outside. maybe worse than we first thought. definitely want to make sure you put on bug spray for your next hike this spring. racking dangerously cold

storm tracker 5. been here for a better part of the evening. i want to show you what we're look at now. a look out our front window, looks like we're traveling much faster than we are. just going over 30 miles per hour. see other cars in front of us. we're trying to stay several car lengths behind because visibility is bit of a problem. we have a clear view out our front window. that's not necessarily the case with everyone. check this out as far as our rear window. wipers hard at work because the snow is continuing to fall hard. the wind, you can hear it kicking up out here as well. we've counted multiple snowplows out here this evening for obvious reasons. at one point we saw a tandem of snow plows westbound on route 2 where we are now as well. these roads are pretty clear. again, freezing temperatures and all of this compacted snow makes for a big issue for drivers.

>> my family is living in fear. >> police arrested one person in connection with major's murder earlier this movement they're still looking for another suspect and absolutely unbelievable story out of tennessee tonight. a tutor now behind bars after what was supposed to be a fun weekend for a job well done in school. this woman regina rogers, her twins were two of nine kids on the adventure that was supposed to include skating and a movie. some kids wound up taking a ride in the tutor's trunk. >> they didn't have on shoes, coats. one little girl had on just a shirt with no bottoms. it was just freezing yesterday. >> at least four kids were in the trunk with back seat folded down. people at the gas station called police when they saw them

the teacher is charged with reckless endangerment. the ebola outbreak declared over in west africa. now another woman has died. 28 are under quarantine. health officials say the woman's body was not properly buried. they're worried about this new case. this health alert now. lime disease carrying ticks have been spotted here in ohio, vermont, wees i minnesota. symptoms include fear, make, fatigue and a rash. if left untreated, it can lead to chronic joint inflammation and other problems. martin luther king, jr. honored during the halftime of

you can't be out more than just a few minutes before you start to run the risk of getting frostbite. how about worcester feels 12 below. school administrators in ohio will typically look at canceling classes when we get 12 to 15 below 0 either currently happening or in the forecast. that's why we have so many school closings tonight. most of those are for wind chill. take a look at snow showers north and east of cleveland there through north eastern cuyahoga county. where 271 meets in lake county. kirkland hills toward painesville, con k north perry, madison, geneva on the lake, ashtabula county, hugging the coast where the lake-effect snow has tomorrowed. you're under the lake snow tomorrow until noon. could see editionle four to

looks like eastern cuyahoga county. wind chill advisory through tomorrow morning. going to be bitterly cold in overnight hours and to start the day 5:00 to 8:00 a.m. will be our cold hours. few snow showers around for your morning commute. much less snow west of cleveland, southwest of cleveland. notice most of the action will be north and east. there's the band of snow will there. this is tomorrow morning at can 8:00 a.m. take a look at blues there along the lake county, geauga county line. throughout the afternoon, we scour out the snow moving north and east. temperatures behind it still staying very cold. as far as accumulation, as i mentioned there, where obstetricals -- where squalls persist, could see up to a half a foot of snow between lunchtime and tomorrow evening. temperatures single digits.
