20s and into the teens tonight. again, snow will not accumulate to too much. we'll talk about a big time winter storm for ng weekend. >> all right, jason. new details about a deadly house fire at noon on good morning cleveland. two elderly women killed when their east cleveland home went rnight. nick foley has been at the scene all morning and has the latest now. >> reporter: cleveland fire officials confirm there were two fatalities here on the 3700 block of east 147th street in ing fire. they also tell us that the two were elderly sisters. firefighters responded around 2:30 this morning with four people in the home at the time o separate apartments. several people we spoke to on scene who i'ved -- who identified themselves as family members told us the people killed were 80 isd sisters. released on scene. another man who identified himself as a grandson of one of the victims was transported to injuries. >> we have our re.

and we have a state fire marshal here also. so, we have a better aspect of what we're dealing w what we're reporter: fire investigators have yet to release a cause for the fire as well. the names of the victim the are not being released at this on cleveland's east newschannel 5. and to a developing story out of penn state university. a professor is being looked at connections to terrorism. newschannel 5s sarah finney is talking with students on campus who are concerned and hope they will get answers know so. >> reporter: kent state students are waking up to the news that one of their history investigated by the fbi for allegedly having ties to isis and trying to recruit students. the man at the center of the case is campus -- you'll julio pino. the campus news editor broke the story on tuesday. she was among the 20 students and faculty members interviewed terrorism task force began looking at him 18 months ago.

at fullton road and clark avenue. officers say a woman was crossing fullton when the car hit her. the driver then pulled into a nearby going, hid from police and then drove away. new analysis of ohio's public school report cards are showing disparitys of kids between different economic backgrounds. the ohio policy institute released its report and said the state has a lot of work to do. they found a 23.5% gap between the graduation rate of districts with a high percentage of economically disadvantaged students. a.c.t. the income levels rise. several state education groups hope to use these results to prompt lawmakers to take action. and our first responders are expected to be at the ready at all times. we have learned that some are conditions. there are broken boilers at three cleveland fire houses right now. until they're fixed, firefighters are working and sleeping in 50 degrees temperatures. the fire union president said

all is quiet. notice the roadways there. and they're shocked. number one, how much snow we have on the ground and the visibility to the west. how far you can see. you can see the sky conditions and the traffic, so, this one shot, yeah, you look at it and go go what is the big deal. it shows you many different things. of course, it's live now and you see a few flakes laying out there now. 18 degrees in downtown cleveland. temperatures across the region running in the upper teens and lower 20s. so, certainly a chill in the air. when you head out today, the winds are not dead and you have gotten here the last few days and really takes your breath away and that feels warmer. we have a doughnut hole of snow free here in northern ohio. we have snow here, men in burton, ravena and kent. this is not lake affect and a regionwide like snow.

a few lake-affect clouds and lake-affect snow showers north and east tomorrow. otherwise, we're drying quiet as temperatures tomorrow approach 25 to 28 degrees. the light snow today, 28. a trace up to an inch cloudy and cold. we're in the teens, lingering flakes. otherwise, relatively uneventful and this is typical january weather. statistically, this is the coldest time of the year for northern ohio. and we're making it through okay and a big snowstorm for friday through the south and east. we're not affected by this. into the upcoming weekend, 20s and, hey, we're above freezing as you move through the day on sunday.
