they found a 4 month old child apparently had been scalded. there were severe burns to both face, chest, and arms of this child. >> tonight an extreme case of a child assaulted at the hands of her parents. >> that baby in the hospital tonight. her parents under arrest. >> she was scalded in a shower. today. the baby's injuries as horrific. the mother in this case is 20 years old. the father is still a teenager. tonight we are naming both of the suspects because of the serious charges -- they are facing. >> stunned reaction from residents of this apartment building after learning what 6th floor.

was scalded so badly in a shower she suffered the most serious type of burns, third-degree to her face, chest and arms. he heard the baby screaming from next door. >> it was traumatizing. the baby was just like -- yelling a --at the top of her lungs. it was loud. >> ems was called around 11:00 thursday night and found the baby crying on a towel, her father 17-year-old demetrius ford said he left her in the shower. they said ford and the baby's mother 20-year-old chavelle grier gave conflicting stories. she said the child was burned with a lighter. >> [ indiscernible ] >> police say it is not clear if the burns were caused intentionally.

>> both parents were charged. the baby girl taking on the akron children's hospital. children services will file focus for -- of her. >> her bond set at $50,000. tonight police say they are not sure if the baby's injuries are life-threatening but again said they are very serious. back to you. also in act roon man is accused oh throwing a crowbar that hit a child. he was reportedly having a fight with his girlfriend when he threw the crowbar as she was leaving. the tool hit a 2-year-old boy in the face. he was taken to akron children's hospital with severe injury to his face. he has been charged felony child endangering and felony child assault. investigators have released

involving a lake county chef's deputy. that gun was later determined to be an air soft gun. law enforcement first responded after a woman called saying he had stabbed her in the back and in the chest. she is in the hospital recovering from those injuries. many are stunned tonight after a double homicide claims the life of a man and woman. jonathan joins us now live outside of the medina county jail. police have one man in custody. >> here he is. 42-year-old dean simpleis. police tell me this all happened in the home where he lived. >> bill watkins lives right across the street.

2:30 this morning to his barking dogs and police officers outside. >> come to the door and they were arresting a guy in the road out here. they put him in the backseat of the car. >> i found public records reveal the man who police arrested has several brushes with the law. the victims are 52-year-old woman and 54-year-old man. they all lived in the home at the time. police say they were both shot to death. for bill it was somewhat hard to talking about the crime. >> yeah it is sad. it's really sad. >> [ indiscernible ] things happen. families have fall outs and -- people do bad things, you know?

police have not yet released the motive for this terrible set of crimes. back to you. two men facing serious drug charges tonight after police say they were caught with chemicals to make meth. both men to have lengthy criminal histories. police say they were caught shoplifting from a store. when they caught up to them police say they found materials that are use to make the drug. well the drama that seems to have surrounded johnny manziel tonight. speaking to the dallas morning news said that he has tried multiple times to get his son into rehab. those words coming as manziel's today. with police. his ex-girlfriend accusing him of hitting her multiple times. we will have more on the latest developments in a few minutes in sports
