kansas now. just a short time ago he was meeting and shaking hands with voters at a popular barbecue joint. he is scheduled to hold a rally outside of kansas city. florida senator marco rubio holding a rally an hour angst michigan. rubio fighting for every vote he can get, has a fighting chance against trump with only 90 delegates separating them. danita. >> now that the dust is settling the candidates still have a lot more primaries to make it through, and voters to win over. stephanie ramos joining us live from washington. stephanie, we've got two debates coming up over the next few days. and we're hearing word that ben carson is skipping out of one of them? >> reporter: that's right. ben carson, he is telling his supporters he seas no path forward in his campaign. he hasn't officially suspended his campaign but he is planning to make an announcement this friday.

on the republican side of the 118,000 ballots requested, just over 32,000 have already been turned in. for the democrats, 35,000 ballots have been returned for more than 111,000 requested. with a large number of voters making last-minute decisions, that gives them more time to learn about the candidate. so tonight we are truth testing the candidate's claims. our partners at poo lit politifact have been reviewing the results. >> reporter: according to truth meter this is the candidate who has told the most outright whoppers. according to politifact's truth meter, donald trump has made the most false statements of any candidate this election season, more than 40% of the

like when trump talked taxes at this rally. >> we're going to reduce taxes tremendously, because we have the highest tax rate anywhere in the world. >> reporter: u.s. income taxes are lower than other advanced nations. it reserves its "pants on fire" rating for the most egregious. so far 20% of trump's received that rating. including this. those unemployment numbers. the number is probably 28, 29, as high as 35. in fact, i even heard recently 42%. >> reporter: politifact found most economists believe in the 10%. trump's rating, a sharp contrast to the democratic front runner. the company has reviewed 150 of hillary clinton's statements.

if trump fails to have enough delegates to win the nomination on the first ballot there would be a contested convention. while trump has a commanding lead on the delegates in the 16 states that have voted already when you look at the popular vote roughly 65% have voted for other candidates. that's something leaders would point to. experts say the effort to save the party would likely cost the gop the presidency but maybe save them the senate. >> this is really the big thing because of the third of the senate that's up for reelection or open seats, 24 of those are held by republicans including rob portman in ohio. many are showing they are not clear winners. >> reporter: it was two years ago tomorrow that cleveland first bid to hold the convention here. on your side, john kosich, newschannel5.

a college professor who has been posting bizarre 9/11 conspiracy theories on social media is keeping her job. the college released a letter defending the professor's freedom of speech. last week the college released a statement saying that her views do not represent those of the college.

he backed an appointment on- line, and the state allows people in neighboring counties to come here, too. new numbers from the attorney general show 6700 people obtained or renewed their concealed carry permits last year. that puts them second only to franklin county and way ahead of neighboring cuyahoga. >> the truth is, about 64% of the people who apply in lake county are from out of the county. >> reporter: the sheriff said that's no coincidence. >> we run a very professional, polite business. >> reporter: his office clarns standard fees but tells me they make no money off the program. >> it's been fantastic. >> reporter: but dave who owns the gunshop and range is make money. he did his research before expanding to lake county 18 months ago. >> when i was writing the business plan for the store, that was part of the research that i had access to and used.

inch at hopkins. that puts our snow, get this, 22.2 inches for the season at hopkins. that is 31 inches below average. we've only had 42% of normal snowfall here in greater cleveland. the good news here, let's think ahead. by march 1st the average high is 41. by the end of the month, the average high is 53. that's more spring-like, with the cold flow out of the north and west over the next couple of days you can imagine we're going to stay cold. we'll have a couple of weak systems bringing us light amounts of snow. first one arrives tomorrow. it should be light snow, less than an inch in most spots. we will show you the hour by hour. notice tomorrow into friday morning, tomorrow late afternoon through friday morning, the bulk of the snow, an inch, maybe a little more wooster to canton to dover new philly. tonight 21, early flakes, drying out, mainly cloudy, and staying very cold. tomorrow, 32 degrees.
