ohio governor john kasich is spending today in michigan where he met with reporters to discuss his campaign. newschannel5's john kosich joins us. john, did he even have any reaction to romney's speech? >> frank, he said he didn't watch it but he did hear what romney said about how he would vote for kasich in ohio. he said he is troubled about the direction of the country and the possibility of a trump nomination. kasich said he told romney what he has been telling crowds all week. criticizing trump is not the way to go after him because that only serves to enrage his base of subpoena bheerts are well aware of trump's past and unlikely to change their vote. the key, he said, is to make your case to the 65% who aren't voting for trump. >> i believe that over time people will have a chance to hear things, and if i win ohio, he's not going to be the nominee. we're going to go to the con of earnings i'm going to be the nominee, because i don't know whether you noticed, it's being

looking around ohio police say a man found asleep this morning in his car, with guns and ammunition, was arrested near a butler county middle school. the 23-year-old was apparently drunk. cops say there was no threat to schools. meanwhile one of the students is back in school after a 14-year-old classmate is accused of opening fire inside the cafeteria. tonight one of those victims is speaking out about the horrific ordeal. >> i saw the gun so i duck under the table and i grab my friend so we're laying under

avenue shot the two kids next to me. >> the family of that boy charged has now issued a statement saying, quote, they are devastated by his actions and are praying for the recovery of the injured students. that 14-year-old suspect remains behind bars in juvenile detention center after denying the charges in court on tuesday. an update to this story. daniel schooler, a man charged in the death of his brother, pleaded not guilty. daniel schooler has been charged with aggravated murder. police say after that shooting he waited for officers to arrest hit. reports indicate he previously sued his brother over an inheritance dispute. he also has a history of violence. bail has been set at a million dollars. an ohio inmate serving life in prison is fighting to have his case revisited. he is arguing he was wrongfully convicted in 1996 for the death

a federal judge denied a motion to appeal alfred cleveland's case to a lower court. his lawyer says the ruling, quote, troubling because the same court has previously concluded there is evidence supporting his claim. the only trial witness against cleveland has since recanted his testimony. cleveland is eligible for parole. a cincinnati mother is facing criminal charges tonight after falsely reporting her child missing. police say the mother's three- week-old child was in the backseat of her car at the time which had been stolen earlier that day. the card been found an hour after it was stolen crashed into a tree. police have not said where the child had been found and why the child wasn't with the mom in the first place. the mother has been charged with obstructing justice. still, though, police arrested four juveniles in connection with the car theft. recently we heard about the health risks associated with drinking lead-tainted water.

she moved to the city in 2014 just as they changed the water supply. shortly after she became pregnant with twins and was still using the tap water like everyone oles. but at just five weeks pregnant she lost one of the twins to a miscarriage. the other she lost at 13 weeks. after coming home from the hospital from the second miscarriage, she found a letter from the in the her mailbox laying out the dangers of pregnant women drinking the water. >> i'm like, are you serious? and i'm just coming home to losing my babies. and now it could have been the water that did this? >> state officials are now investigating whether the water crisis caused an increase in miscarriages in flint. a school in avon lake is on baby watch. baby bird watch, that. is this eagle is keeping close eye on her newly laid eggs. this bird cam at redwood elementary recorded a raccoon
