overnight in iraq at least 47 people including 39 civilians are pronounced dead. militants drove trucks into a crowded security check point south of baghdad. many are in critical condition. a witness shared this picture on twitter to show the extent of the damage. the coast guard searching for a texas man who fell from a royal caribbean cruise ship. they are focusing on an area near the coast of key largo and florida. he fell from the 10th deck of the ship a total of about 100 feet. he has not been seen since. in california a 48-year-old woman is dead after the car she was traveling in got stuck in floodwaters. it became submerged in six feet of water after the driver went around a road block. he was able to escape but his female passenger did not make it. >> water was six to eight feet deep before we were able to get into the vehicle. took the dive team a while to

>> officials remind you if you see road locks or flooded roads do not drive into it. it does not take much to create a dangerous situation. a small plane made a force landing in an industrial park in new york. the pilot and his daughter escape with minor injuries. the parachute can help in crash landings. he deployed that shoot after the plane's engine died. the f.a.a. and ntsb are investigating. and for the first time a scuba diver in florida is talking about being sucked into a massive pipe. he was diving with a friend last summer. the pipe suddenly pulled them in and he kept tumbling through it for five minutes. it's 16-inches in diameter and a quarter mile long. it sucks half a million gallons of water a minute to cool nuclear reactors. he didn't think he would make it.

right now we are off to a fantastic start. good morning. you are currently at the freezing mark wayne county into the killbuck area, holmes county currently at 34 degrees. taking a look at our five live radars yesterday so busy tracking all of that moisture. this morning a completely different story as high pressure continues to build in. you are going to notice the winds picking up out of the south today. they are still on the light side about 5 to 10 miles per hour but really start to kick up a notch as we head into your monday. but when they come out of the south that's what's allowing for the gradual warm up. like to show this wind cast, that bubble of wind that's going to start to make it's way in here and it has a lot warmer air moving out towards st. louis, chicago and crossing over into northeast ohio. so hour by hour get outside. i think from this model it shows you a little bit more cloud coverage but we are going to be sitting under mostly to

those clouds do thicken up as we head into the 7:00 hour. where is this warmer air coming from. we have a large area of low pressure that is effecting the west coast from los angeles and it's changing our jet stream. it's going to produce windy weather out towards denver but wet weather out towards the south. advisories already put in place. i do think we'll be tracking potential for severe weather out towards the south as we head into your midweek. closer to home future cast you can see the bump up in the temperatures here. a few clouds moving through throughout your overnight but i really want to show you monday afternoon. this is 3: 00. i want you to take a late lunch maybe and sit in the 60s out towards wayne county. a little bit cooler if you could say that for the greater cleveland area 57 degrees. unbelievable here. 43 for today getting a little

mostly sunny skies, warmer air continues to track in. i promise you you didn't need the heater anymore. you can see the bump up in our temperatures for overnight lows tonight, 38 degrees. now we are on that upward trend and tuesday is going to be that talker. look at all of this sunshine we are seeing for the next three days. wednesday, thursday that wet weather starts to track in here. you know i'm an almanac fiend. love climate here. tracks in 41 this time last year on march 9. 66 expected about a 25-degree temperature difference. >> i'll be hitting golf balls that day for sure. thank you. now an alert what could be a major breakthrough in cancer research. scientists believe they have discovered a way to steer the body's immune system to kill cancers. researchers have developed a way to find a tumor's achilles

hello everyone we start this 8:30 half hour with a look outside. good morning cleveland for you. overcast skies, chilly start but it's going to get better as you begin your day for sure. welcome back. we've got several developing stories this half hour including a vigil plan for a three-year-old murder victim. more on that story in just a bit but we begin with a check on the weather. >> we are starting off the morning with overcast conditions. temperatures at 31 degrees but give the weather a little bit of time. look at this. we can see a brownish greenish grass and hopefully that gets nice and green into the rest of the week with temperatures warming back up to the 60s. good morning you are at 29 into summit county. north akrin into canton

people are going to be in flip- flops, short shirts. 66. we are forecasting and you know what, some of our mottos are call--models are calling for possibly a 70-degree day so keep you updated. >> i save my flip-flops until the 70s but i'll take the warm up for sure. two cleveland teenagers are still on the run wanted in a crime spree targeting case western reserve university students but two other armed suspects are off the streets wanted for a violent car jacking as well. derek waller was the only reporter with surveillance video of the car jacking and continues to bring us information about the arrest. >> the video is grainy but you see a dark ford escape suv that's the stolen vehicle these teens have been riding around in. one of them hops out and forces mercury. the car pulls away. nearby star. this happened around 10 last night on east 116th street.

stolen ford escape on coal fax road. a chase ensued and two of four suspects were arrested. that suv towed. >> we are assuming that the other two suspects are traveling in the mercury. >> that white mercury looks like this. the license plate number is glt4055. that group of teens is responsible for several robberies in cleveland heights and at least one more tuesday afternoon on euchlid avenue. they are trying to connect to others. the two victims were veteran case professors. >> right now in the process of putting together line ups to have the victims take a look at photographs of suspects that have been arrested. >> your case campus tonight students are keeping their guard up. >> my mom gave me pepper spray. sometimes it's sketchy having

in columbus that left a 7-year- old boy dead. another child was injured in that incident. a 4-year-old girl was with her family at the hospital after friday's shooting when they realized she too was injured. a five-year-old boy and 19-year- old man were hospitalized. an 18-year-old faces murder charges. we are 133 days from the republican national convention as it draws near you will probably start seeing ads for homes up for rent in our area. if you are thinking of listing your residence we'll share secrets to make making money during that event. stay away from listing your apartment or home for an outrageous price. the second tip, location. the closer you are to downtown the more desirable it will be. rentals in rocky river going for 9500 for the week or a condo in a savvy downtown building going for $33,000.
