session during voting. >> it's a potential for harm that's there. we teach our kids to avoid strangers before they even enter kindergarten, and then you enter a large scale number of strangers into the school all day long. it just doesn't make any sense. >> now, ohio law lists public schools as suitable polling spots. the board of elections tells me they've heard complaints before about voting while school is in session but so far they've been able to work out concerns with administrators. >> thank you megan. being able to vote is almost a rite of passage, especially if you happen to turn 18 during an election year. but controversy is starting to grow over the legality of letting 17-year-olds vote. typically if you would turn 18 by the time the general election rolled around, you would be allowed to vote in the primaries at 17.
6:11 pm
those what voted at 17 had been thrown out. now secretary of state is facing numerous lawsuits over allowing 17-year-old votes to count, including one from bernie sanders. by law, 17-year-olds are not allowed toll electric anyone into office, which is what husted claims would be happening in this primary. >> what we're fighting about is, what the presidential primary is. is it an election that counts? are you electing somebody to make choices for you at the convention, or are you voting for the candidate that will be on the ballot in november? >> however, 17-year-olds can vote in nominating contests like for the state senate race. still ahead, all new at 6:00, it was the blurting of a seek clint high school that got one woman kicked out weeks before graduation. >> yeah, because of it, she never received her high school diploma. that is until now, after nearly seven decades, she can officially call herself a high school graduate.

6:20 pm
55 tonight, rain arrives, should be steady. looks like a good soccer tomorrow. 60, scattered showers, temperatures will fall a bit through the afternoon. i think by this time tomorrow we're in the 40s. here is your seven-day forecast. upper 40s for friday. saturday, sunday, we do bring rain chances in, especially sunday. don't forget to spring forward, highs near 60. near 70 as we head through monday with temperatures back into the 60s for next week. >> sounds good. andy is in. we all had our eyes on the clock, 4:00 for the free agency. you're bringing big news. >> we told you last night don't expect johnny manziel to be released yet. he's still on the roster. we will see what happens. he's not playing for the browns any more, i can guarantee thawrks but he's still on the roster because of financial things. also today we were the first to tell you that mitchell schwartz was going to kansas city. the latest on that story and the rest of the browns in free
6:23 pm
. well, the browns had a couple of free agents out there. they got three pitches and struck out. 0 for 3. mitchell schwartz is going to kansas city, the browns lost two offensive linemen today. alex, mack, and schwartz. i was told schwartz was planning on accepting the $7.5 million offer but the browns pulled the offer before he had a chance to sign. it sounds like the browns and chiefs offers were in the same ball pack.

the atlanta falcons. reports are that he left money on the table to leave the browns. half a million dollars to go five-year deal. first news of the day was wideout travis benjamin going to san diego. four years, $24 million. weapon. he says he will now retire in san diego. the other news coming, gibson is still looking for an offer. browns. here's more from nathan. >> they are being consistent with what they said. they were not going to be major players in the early wave of free agency. now that that money has been spent some of the bargains will start to pop up. that's where i think you will see the browns jump in. if you thought they were linked to marvin jones, they were. if they're not going to break the bank, that says something about their valuation. it's a guy would got paid $8 million coming off an 800-yard season.
6:25 pm
i don't think the browns are in the business of overpaying. i know people say, they've got all this money under the salary cap. what they need to do is spend it wiselily. they need to get right april 28th at the draft. then you will have the opportunity to start reuping your players. the reason denver signs a guy like demarcus ware was because they thought that would bowl. it certainly helped. the browns aren't there yet. unfortunate but they've got to undo some of the bad things that happened in the past that thread browns last year to being the oldest and most expensive defense in the nfl while finishing 3-13. what they want to do is get younger, get cheaper, get faster and better with guys that have an opportunity to grow here and turn this franchise around. >> sought does feel like we're back with square one with the browns butt feels like the front office may have a plan
6:26 pm
we'll see what they do moving forward. i never thought the browns were going to hop in the first day and good out and sign some big free agents. i didn't think john thee manziel was going to get cut. we're going to see what they do in the draft. >> and they've got money. >> they've got money. but it's the draft. >> you still to have spend money, though. >> you're right. >> stay tuned. the drama continues.
