men tied to the paris terror attacks. first at 5:00, brand-new details from our continuing investigation into the cleveland water department. we've uncovered yet another elderly customer with many questions about her large bill. >> this involves apartments and businesses that the 81-year-old owns. that's where we september five on your side investigator jonathan walsh to get answers. >> i'm getting confused about this water bill thing now. >> reporter: 81-year-old mae owns this building on superior avenue on cleveland's east side. >> there's one right there. >> reporter: in her building there are two stores and two apartments above those stores. >> reporter: those. been occupied? >> they haven't been occupied in many 15, 20 years. >> reporter: so i am imagine her surprise when she got a water bill for thousands of dollars. she showed me this store doesn't even have water. she told me she tried several times to get answers from the cleveland division of water. >> there's no water being used.

you don't use no water. >> reporter: i want to show you one of the interesting things mae told me. this is a huge building. but the only working water is right here in this sink, and over here, this toilet. in fact, to help out mae, a business owner from next-door cut the water line going up to the apartments and capped it off. >> reporter: apartments upstairs are not getting any water? >> no water. >> reporter: how long ago? >> over 10, 12 years. >> reporter: then last month mae got another water billeter. this time nearly $2500 owed. >> they told me i had to pate all at one time. >> reporter: the water department told me there was a major leak a few years ago that mae hasn't paid for and they shut the water off in 2013. however, ace showed you, the was there. they also told me the new bill is for the water portion and charges separate from her sear bill.

that major leak through her tax bill and is still confused. >> they're sending me all these big bills when i'm trying my best to cooperate. >> reporter: i'm investigator jonathan walsh. >> the water department told us it started a leak notification system in 2014 and to this date more than 20,000 notices have gone out to customers. that was after mae had her problem, and now after our involvement, she's talking directly to water department reps to get some answers. new developments in another newschannel5 investigation now. an electrical wiring job that initially got the okay from cleveland city inspectors has been deemed not safe. our camera was there with the east 112th. city communications director dan williams says there is no way the wiring should have passed any inspections. the city is now working with the family and appreciates newschannel5 calling attention to that problem. >> in about an hour family and friends are gathering in act i

it's a pizza shop worker who was shot and killed during a robbery. today would have been zach's birthday. surveillance video capturing his final moments as a masked person enters the restaurant demanding cash, waving a gun. you can see zach emptying the register without a fight but he was shot and killed anyway. we just learned that police have made another arrest in the murder of five-month-old avielle wakefield. police say charles caldwell turned himself in. according to the warrant caldwell fired a gun at the car she was riding in, killing her back in october. two other arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. and a small community is on edge as police investigate the murder of a tuscarawas county woman. darlene renner was found stabbed to death. renner was found by her boyfriend's son what told deputies he woke to screams. the 17-year-old says grabbed a gun and headed to renner's room

here in willoughby struck a gas line. this area on the corner are kind v the main areas where crews are focusing. you can see gas crews are on scene right now. they've also got some traffic blocked off here on euclid avenue. i will zoom out to give you a look at police as they tend to the traffic issues. you can see police are on scene diverting traffic away from this area. i also want to point out, all traffic heading to the medical center on euclid is being asked to use state route 91 to u.s. 20. all other routes to the medical center are closed now. we do know there were no injuries involved with this incident. again, more gas crew utility workers are headed to the scene to help fix this problem. but again, no immediate danger to anybody in this area. we'll keep you updated. back to you. >> we just learned about another setback to the fight to get medical marijuana on the ballot. attorney general mike dewine has rejected a petition to

you see that stuff? that's snow. that's 12:30 in the afternoon. so for 12 hours there's a pretty good threat for at least some light snow. we're still waiting to see exactly where the surface logos along the east coast. if it comes farther west, then we get a couple of inches of snow for a lot of you. if the goes out to sea and it's flurries to perhaps half an inch, maybe a little more by the end of sunday. but still flakes flying on the first day of spring, that's a big deal. 38 degrees, a sun/cloud mix, breezy through the overnight. should be dry after the next couple of hours. here's 26 tonight for akron/canton. we will mention a sprinkle, tomorrow 38, should be dry with a cloud/sun mix. seven-day. cool weather weekend. right now, my hunch is for a trace to one inch of snow on sunday. mate go a little bit higher south and east toward columbiana, carroll county, maybe the dover/new philly area.

to get home to you tonight, that's going to cause a bit of a problem. an accident has closed one of the lanes along i-90 at fulton. you can see a fire truck there on the scene and traffic around the crash moving slowly. a warren county teen will to have spend at least one year abe rehabilitation program after raping a drunk class mated at a party last fall. both teens were 14 years old when it happened, and the girl was drunk. no adults were home and the prosecutors says the boy was encouraged by other boys at the party. if he fails to finish the rehab program, he will face a year in juvenile detention. a rape accusation is being investigated at one of washington, d.c.'s most prominent and prestigious schools. >> a 17-year-old told police she was raped by a 16-year-old girl at sidwell friends school standard. exclusive school costs $37,000 a year to attend. and both of president obama's daughters are students at that

the police report says the two had consensual sex in the past but what she says happened at the school was not consensual. no charges have been filed at this point. and bail revoked for a graduate from an exclusive new england prep school. owen labrie was arrested today after a judge said he violated the conditions of his bail several times. that student was free on bail while appealing his one-year jail sentence and the requirement that he register as a sex offender. he had just graduated from the school when he was convicted of sexually assaulting a younger student. a poignant moment in our nation's capital where a baby bald eagle was born this morning, nestled high in a poplar tree at the u.s. national arboretum. it's the first time a bald eagle pair has nested here since 1947. the parents have been named mr. president and the first lady after choosing the spot. a second egg is expected to hatch this weekend. isn't that sweet. a little ball of fluff there,

it started as a routine transaction at a gas station in colorado but what happened next has this story trending on social media today. you can see in this video a mother holding her baby at a cash register. the cashier notices that something is off and reaches across the counter, first grabbing the baby's arm, then taking her from her mother's arm, moments later the mother starts covering seizure and ends up on the floor. today she is speaking out, explaining she suffers from epilepsy. >> that's kind of what scarce you the most is the fact that you can't do anything about it. >> very scary. the mother says she usually

tgif. the weekend is finally here. spring is around the correspond. >> mark johnson, you have some news folks may not want to hear about on the first day of spring. >> just as the clock strikes spring, 12:30 a.m. sunday morning, the snow is likely going to begin to fall for many of you across northern ohio all because of this guy here. this is a strong low pressure coming out of the south. the low is just going to graze us. it is going to head toward the east coast. but enough of this moisture here will move in at least to the eastern half of the state to make you notice the snow is falling, could be some accumulation on the grassy surfaces by church time on sunday morning into early afternoon, too. here is the front coming in. that's going to bring in some much cooler air. highs in the 30s through the weekend, lows in the 20s. the cold air is here. so any moisture that does arrive in the form of precipitation, it will be snow. so right now we've got a couple
