spinal cord fractures. she's said to be conscious and okay. those are some of our top stories on this monday, august 8th. from abc news, this is "world news now." good morning to you all. we begin this half hour with the death of a ten-year-old boy during a family outing at a water park. he was riding on the water slide in kansas city kansas, the tallest in the world. 17 stories high insane or crazy in german. riders have to follow some strict rules. there's no word on how this accident took place. >> we honestly don't know what's happened. that's why an investigation, a full investigation is necessary. all our rides are inspected every day, and our rides are inspected by an outside party before the season starts. >> the water park will be closed
