right now, heavy rain hammering parts of northeast ohio. flooding is rising tonight with region. thousands of people are still without power from severe weather earlier this week. let's get to our meteorologist. >> what does it look like right now? >> it's getting better. the storm did pack a strong punch with strong winds. you can see a lot lighter and

thunderstorms currently for us, northern richland county. we have some lightning flashes with this. it's going to be moving into loadi. about an inch per hour. but most totals will be coming to about a half inch to an inch. no extreme flooding. the thunderstorms and heavier showers and thunder activity. stone creek, new philadelphia. southern section of stark county. you are going to see these increases to the north and the east. to the north you have a pocket or two from heavier shower from summit county.

reports. there is a prompt in ashtabula county. i did not see any actual reports of wind damage. we'll make sure to keep you updated and later around the area to watch out for downed powerlines. we have the flash flood watch in the 8:00 tonight. we might drop early. still a rain chance as as well. the conditions will get to wind down as we get to the sunset. that's at the 8:00 hour. let's look at the roadways from sara. have you seen some big ponds and puddling there?

several communities on the west side are still cleaning up from the first round. we spoke with them who have struggled with several power outages. >> residents there dealing with power outages from thursday's storm. there are downed branches on the power line this neighborhood. they took some time to fix the problem. the communities had crews working 16-hour days to fix the problem cleaning up powerlines and in this case, replacing a

21-year-old sarah rodriguez is smacked across the face. it happened thursday in cleveland. but cleveland police are not telling us if their officers were involved because multiple agencies were at the scene making the arrest. she is now charged with assault of an officer. a man's body was found by east 14th4thth4 street. a man backed into a building. this is the second time this has happened.

storms. we all know we need to find a different route. let's look at the timeline. the storm made it's way into the area with the storm dumping about a half inch in total. there are dark clouds throughout all the afternoon. even with some breakthrough of sunshine and we are not done with the wet weather. ny stay-at-home which is a good idea. most of it is done. for rain and clouds as well. watch out for the pounding and puddling. remember that hydroplaning is easy and can happen easy for you. keep that in mind and slowdown.

thunderstorm chances as it continues to diminish. that front will move in here. it will not clear the area until tomorrow. some possibilities for the rain in the forecast tomorrow. a flash flood watch is continuing until 8:00. we believe it is going to end earlier than that. estimate about 12 hours. as much as an inch there north of young's town. >> coming up, you can see a few popping up. waking up sunday morning with morning light rainfall and many of us also finding the chance to dry out. also good news not to expect
