kristin volk joins us live. the driver hit the gas instead of the brake?>> reporter: that's right. we're learning that driver is 74 years old. police told me the woman drove her car onto the dance floor behind me, packed with people. she then backed up and drove right over here car ramming her car into this suv. happened. >> reporter: in the midst of 100 people : a dozen dancers, and the band playing here, a split second may use turned into tragedy.>> i drove by and said i think i will skip>> reporter: mcallister his wife are normally regulars. tonight they decided not to go. tonight at 7 pm is when parma heights police say a driver struck nine people on this dance floor. it happened right next to the

recovering well. kristin volk, newschannel five. now to an exclusive, the family of a cleveland man who was killed in a fire is speaking out. frank salamon was inside this platen avenue duplex when it went up in flames. his girlfriend, elizabeth scott, is accused of setting the fire. his brother-in-law tells us scott had been violent with them in the past.>> i actually picked them up from the hospital a couple of times for having concussions. they would go back and say please stop.. >> reporter: scott is facing aggravated murder charges. according to records, scott was found guilty of disorderly conduct three times in four years. we're learning more about a shooting that claimed the lives of a couple. the stark doug baldwin coroner has identified one as michael love it. the two were leaving home on

home on 17th st., northeast when the woman's ex-boyfriend approached the couple and opened fire. lovett died at the scene. the woman passed away during surgery. the police tracked down the gunman and took him to the hospital after he reportedly tried to kill himself. charges are now pending. cleveland police are investigating eight separate shootings in less than 24 hours, one deadly. a man in his 20s was shot and killed friday night near e. 90th st. in scene. no arrests have been made in a niche of the shootings. we now know the name of a woman whose body was found near an abandoned building in seaside. the me identified her as breanna fluid. police found her body off aden avenue yesterday morning. officers say she was shot several times. cleveland police are investigating the death of a

27-year-old nicole richards died yesterday. police were called to newark for an unresponsive female in a car. while in route, a call came through that she was dropped off by an unknown male at the hospital. he asked for help and then left. police are calling the death suspicious but the medical examiner will determine the cause of death. new details are emerging about a deadly standoff umbro park. a man barricaded himself inside a home after allegedly shooting another man in the head. please say the accused gunman took his own life. we spoke with neighbors today who are still in shock.>> reporter: a quiet street in book park was upside down saturday night. a shooting suspect being identified by neighbors as carl adkins now dead after a six hours standoff with police. nicole renshaw home at the time of the shooting tells me her 17-

firefighters are closing in on an arson fire that

devastated a northern california community. the blaze destroyed nearly 200 homes and businesses and lower lake is now 95% contained. investigators say the fire and more than a dozen others were set on purpose. police arrested and charged one person with 14 counts of arson. devastating flooding in louisiana is worse than first reported. officials are now saying that 60,000 homes are damage. that's comp announced last week. the red cross says the flooding is the nation's worst disaster since super storm sandy back in 2012. 13 people were killed. some flood victims were turned to what left -- what's left of their home and it became emotional for some.>> it happened fast. it's sad. you do what you got to do. we saved a lot, thanks to him

enjoy the really perfect weather today. >> it was hot and steamy. there were two weather stories this weekend. return to today, it was just beautiful. we ended on a bit of a wet note. talking rainfall out there, including in cleveland. further south of cleveland and cuyahoga county, in ashtabula, we did see some active activity. klaus hoehn hanging low almost everywhere throughout the in the rate -- in the way of rainfall until the evening. as far as conditions go, not a bad day. much cooler than what we had over the past couple of weeks and certainly dew points down and helpful as well. winds are now come, they were up in breezy. we will keep that humidity, the temperature, everything down for your monday forecast.
