too. you have new information from police? >> reporter: frank, this month alone akron has seen six cases of cars smashing into stores to steal various things. in the other cases those stores of the gas stations, this one was different. police photographer shows the trail of damage shattering windows and doors in south arlington street. glass spread way into the parking lot. around 5:30 on sunday morning police say that someone behind the wheel of the great clothing store and stole expensive jeans and shirts. the store employees estimate at least $10,000 to $12,000 worth of clothing was snatched. today the business was open, but the windows were boarded up. officers don't have suspects and it is not clear if the crime is connected to several other akron smash and grabs at -- at gas stations. >> the whole front doors of the front of the building were damaged. obviously the brick wall was

sounded like the bank robber had a southern accent. police searched macedonia neighborhoods, but they have not located the suspect. anyone with information is asked to call police. lorain police are investigating a suspicious death after a man was found dead in his home. officers say that the man's apartment on west ninth and lexington was in disarray. if investigators rule the death a homicide that it would be lorain's 7th murder this year that there were no murders in lorain >> officers responded 910 lexington avenue to the upstairs apartment. apparently a friend of the deceased came over and found the body upstairs. we also discovered the body and the house looks to be in disarray. right now we are investigating this as a suspicious death. the coroner is upstairs right now processing the scene. >> anyone with information about the man's death is asked to call lorain police.

with the series of bb gun shootings in cleveland heights. paul gist is facing charges for shooting out a number of car windows along noble road. operations are finally getting back to normal at this hour in lax after false reports of an active shooter this morning. terrified passengers were running through safety of emergency exits and on the tarmac. some taking cover under planes. it all started with about this man dressed in a zorro costume believed to be armed with a sword, which police later determined to be plastic. the scare turned out to be loud noises. all of this comes just weeks after chaos erupted at new york's jfk airport. that scare was prompted by loud noises from olympic celebrations. so one lawmaker is calling for a federal investigation into airport emergency responses.

all right, here we go. our storm threats for the afternoon. notice that it will be a little small area of the light green and middle green if you will up around minneapolis and green bay. that's really the only shot of an isolated shower or thunderstorm during the evening hours today. nowhere near northern ohio, in fact that you can see there will be no color over us. we're not green, we're not yellow, we're not orange. that means that we should be staying dry through the evening and the overnight.

no main storms on out there. we have gaston that will be a category two hurricane who will sit and spin on out to sea and that will not impact us. maybe some waves along the coast. but this mess is going to be most likely tropical storm hermine by later on this evening and overnight tonight. the actual center will be right about here and it will travel up, gather some moisture, then head on in. and right in here tomorrow and into wednesday. it will bring a lot of heavy rain, but it will not be a hurricane when they reach land out to sea. so yeah, it is almost peak tropical season. that you'll be hearing a lot, seeing a lot of these maps here as well and a lot of the tropical storms over the next 30 days or so. we'll be right back with more
