meteorologist janessa webb. first it is muggy and then we will be affected why some rain. >> tomorrow i can promise you better weather but we are tracking severe storms. we have already seen round one. we started to see a line form out toward toledo. it has tracked toward the east affecting most of our viewing area with widespread rain. some of these goalie washer cells this morning you are probably noticing some minor flooding on our roadways continuing to slide to the east. right now affected is medicine and mentor with some -- madison and mentor with northern geauga county with a few isolated raindrops. the brunt of the moisture

>> thanks, janessa. >> the heroin epidemic sweeping through the nation. whenever on community continue to feel the devastating affect. 24 overdoses happening in akron in just one day. meg shaw live in akron for us this morning. meg, what is the latest on the latest search? >> me know overdose calls have come in since 11 p.m. friday night but that is not to say it is not happening here in the city. in just nine hours 24 cases of heroin overdoses were reported. they say it is because of a bad batch of heroin. a 3-year-old wandered off while three adults were in the house being treated for overdose.

effects spreading to other areas as well. on the heels of a crackdown with 15 arrested. in this undercover operation, many admitted to shoplifting to help pay for the heroin habit. the latest arrest came after they tried to steal 22 pairs of jeans from a local target. >> stealing from family members and then the basically found it is easier to go to stores to commit >> the investigation has been able to recover more than $8500 of stolen goods. some cleveland firefighters are upset with the chief's refusal to let them wear commemorative 9/11 polo shirts. the chief had a response to the request and it was denied. a department spokesperson said it is out of a desire to honor

good morning, everyone. i power of 5 meteorologist janessa webb. we saw the rain moves across our viewing area early. right now as we are putting on the latest, gang affected from jefferson to geneva on the lake. we are not seeing any hail, folks. but these are heavy downpours moving across ashtabula county. it is moving in and out here very quickly. we do have another round behind this moisture you are currently seeing. the big set up here is this is going to be an equal

our major concern throughout the afternoon starting around 3 pm is heavy downpours and winds up to 35 miles-per-hour. with this rain that will move through here, we could see some heavy downpours. we are going to track that minor flooding. the good news is this is a cold front making its way in. the heat and humidity we have been experiencing really cools us off a lot of activity on those radar maps. they do, janessa. one old high school student may be the busiest student around. marion place two boys varsity sports. not only is she the only female on the soccer team, but she is also the placekicker on the football team. >> i tried freshman year and they didn't believe me.

police tell us the driver crashed into a pool in the parking lot of the chapel hill mall hitting a guardrail. minutes later, his truck was on fire. he was passed out when police arrived. likely, he made it out alive but is now left with serious burns. it did not stop there on friday. on canton road police found a suspected overdose victim and another brittain road. maybe the most disturbing of them all, police found a 3-year- old wandering through a neighborhood while the adults were being treated for overdoses. we did speak with police. they haven't had any overdose calls since 11:00 friday night. however, they are keeping a close eye on this terrifying situation. we will keep you updated if anything happens.

we are going to see kind of a dry spot that will form here across northeast ohio. this will be the next batch of tropical moisture that will move in as we head into the 2:00 or 3:00 our -- hour. we already have flash flood concerns for st. louis and portions of the central plains. this will look to the north with concerns for northeast ohio throughout concern and also straight-line winds picking up here as the moisture makes its way through. i want to show you hour by hour. at 10:30 we are okay. that is good news around 10:00 we could see a peak of sunshine from route 30 corridor into wayne county. the cloud deftly intact closer to the lake.
