motivated that attack. we begin with a shooting at a rest stop that led to a situation along i71. the victim a student at wooster. the shooter is dead, he shot himself before police got to him. >> we learned he had a warrant out for his arrest. christine, the warrant was issued the day before that shooting? >>reporter: yes, that's right, frank. that warrant was issued in court documents we're learning -- that shooter punched his mom, threatened to kill someone and left in her car. that's what we found in the documents and 48 hours after that incident, police say that shooter walked up to alex melcher a freshman at the college of wooster, confronted him and shot him and in disbelief along with childhood friends.

>>reporter: these court documents reveal that police issued a warrant for johnson's arrest one day prior to the shooting. charged with domestic violence and assault and digging deeper, we found out that his mom called police friday night saying he punched her, threatened to kill someone and left in her car. the same car involved in the alleged shooting and the chase. aleck's friends are making plans to come to ohio to be survive. >> he's an amazing person and how hundred believably selfless he is as well. he put his needs before others. >>reporter: students and faculty just wrapped up a vigil of support for alex at the student union at the college of wooster. state highway patrol says alex was shot six times while traveling with a friend from

incident. the man accused in a deadly crash on i480 pleaded not guilty. clark justin of bruns wick charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and assault in saturday's crash that killed tanesha matthew ands injured asia matthews. the women were changing a tire on the side of the road at the time they were hit. justin left the scene of the crash but arrested a short time later. state troopers found hero his car. the scary clown controversy has come to our area and someone making social media threats to three schools and police say they know who's been making those threats. three six grade girls. police are talking to prosecutors about what to do now. akron businesses are fed up after a series of break ins. >> police believe the same
