two can natives flew in to find out that the tickets they bought on a third-party website were not real. these brothers lost nearly $1000. joe pagonakis has the story. >> i am beyond excited. this has been a lot of -- lifelong dream. >> reporter: jeff and his brother cannot contain themselves after series last week. they started searching for discount tickets to the game one in cleveland on craigslist and spend thousands to fly in. >> i'm coming from boston and my brother is coming from dallas. we found a hotel room and we were sure that with we were in. they found what they thought were two bleacher seat for $900. >> we were skeptical about it. she said she would set up a

union to her and wants the money got to this third-party site she would send the tickets. >> reporter: when i got here to cleveland they determined that the seats never existed. there $900 is nonrefundable and untraceable through western union. the brothers had to empty their bank accounts for these two additional tickets costing more than $1000. an expensive lesson they seemed to take in stride with a little self-depreca >> we set up a gofundme account to try to recoup some of our money. it is tribe fans got scammed. >> reporter: never send money via a wire service unless you know who you are dealing with. also make sure you do your homework when betting -- and

tonight. 38 in akron, 39 canton, near the lakeshore and under the cloud we have 50 degrees in cleveland. quite a contrast in our temperatures. here is the rub about game two for tomorrow. a leading edge of overrunning precipitation. there is a warm front nec showers toward columbus that are very light stretching toward athens. this is the big area of rain from chicago back to minneapolis and that will come riding our way and as i mentioned earlier in the show several of our computer forecasts hold back the rain until after the ball game tomorrow night. a couple of them bring it in earlier. that is why the gametime was moved up. rain showers after midnight tomorrow rain is likely and on and off through the day on thursday. tonight will go 40 partly cloudy frosty cold away from the lake.

national glow. it has been a good year all around. the nba championship in american league pennant come on the heels of a national political party convention in cleveland which was hailed for how smoothly cleveland laid the groundwork and made a comfortable. now cleveland rings true with even more. with basketball and baseball accomplishments and in reality all of northeast ohio share in the rings. they symbolize the positives and cleveland's strength. championships sent signals across the nation of who we are. as well they send signals to ourselves and increase our feelings of self-esteem and community pride. and so it is in cleveland for it all rings true. for news 5 i am leon bibb. >> like only leon could sell it. it is such an exciting night
