one indian. it's about 20 miles from the batting cage at wrigley field to the sprawling campus of glenn brook north high school but will you find jason kipnis on both. his picture hangs on the back stop. this was his field, these are his people. >> i remember the kid that had a hot temper growing up, even in high school when we were playing in northbrook. he was passionate. >> we had a running joke with his dad. he would be throwing dad would give me a check to cover the cost. >> reporter: the passion of a football player, which jason was a good one. still holds a ton of receiving records. >> he was just a competitor. he didn't think he was helping the team unless we were giving him the ball. >> reporter: but it was baseball that called jason. coach rupert watched him become a man full of prayed and determine nation. good times, great friends, watching all this from here.

scrambling tonight. the head of the fbi says new clinton e-mails have come to light that they need to review. john kosich joins us now. we're learning that these e- mails aren't actually from her private server. >> that's right, the e-mails belong to one of her top advisers, huma abedin and her husband, former congressman anthony weiner. they say it's all in connection with the latest where weiner sent explicit pictures to a girl. in the middle of that investigation officials say they found e-mails connect to the clinton case. this afternoon james comey, corrector of the fbi, sent a letter to congress to alert them. her rival didn't waste any time addressing the news. >> i have great respect for the fact that the fbi and the department of justice are now

eyes to cleveland. something good is underway here. it is in the air. clevelanders are breathing it in. a growing feeling of community optimism. of course it helps when the city's baseball team is in the world series. the cleveland indians team has picked up the ball, and it, too, helps in the renewal and rebirth of cleveland. story, yes of an mesh league pennant and quest for a championship. but dig deeper, really more than that. a story of us. this land as home. drama on the baseball field also unfolds as pride of a community. the indians also represent us. national news organizations have picked up on the resurgence of cleveland. the rnc showed a can-do city. the cavs upped our image further. but we were rising even before. these events are simply more carrots on a ring of diamonds.

here in cleveland there are instances of that, too. but when good times come, it is good to build on them. so we applaud the cleveland indians. in a way, we applaud ourselves, because the indians are part of the extended family. world series, yes. but that is a community bloodline on a cleveland baseball diamond. so we root for a world series championship. but in many ways, cleveland has already won. so we do have some problems out some of them. every big city has problems. but there is a definite feel in cleveland of this city on the rise. you know, i'm a long timer here. raised, educated in cleveland, and i've covered cleveland for more than 30 years. so i see it. no let's rise some more with a cleveland world series championship for a population which already feels we're winning. for news 5, i'm leon bibb. >> yeah. >> ready to rise some more.
