chicago sunday night and we knew it happened to the indians so they could come back home and win the championship in front of the home crowd and when we do win the world championship it is going to be a bit of a rare occurrence, rob, not because we haven't done so since 1948 but because the path that brought the team this far was victory. jason kipnis spoke about the opportunity to clench it at home. >> it would be nice to do it in front of the fans. it looks like detroit beat the division and boston and toronto. here is the question. what is it going to take to clench the game? >> a lot of stuff.

and raised money for a lot of charities. james giradi tells us where the money is headed. it is what the indians do. >> the indians play baseball well. what you may not know is that the tribe has do fated over two- and-a-half many dollars to the boys and girls club. the group has a heart for the city and cares about urban surprise when the money raised at three watch parties from 67,000 fans paying $5000 each totaling more than $330,000 was all given to local organizations including the boys and girls club. >> i want to thank the indians about thinking about the community as they always do. it is like i said consistent for them to kind of think about using this money for the greater good in the community. >> i was surprised. i was.

let's go tribe. new video as someone with their phone was able to get a hood of the video. police were struggling with the driver of a stolen car. >> the chase that started in oak wood village and when that man took off inside cleveland police cruiser. paul kiska from the police department in oak wood with this story. >> it was caught on tape as you said. and here is that video. >> this cell phone video shows on police officer struggling with a driver of a stolen car in cleveland. the chase started in oakwood village where a driver sideswiped two cars and the man ran after blowing a tire. the officer wrestled him to the ground and got slammed on his back. as the man got up, a 70 year- old passer by tried to get control of the man. the man got away and jumped

and the officer trying to pull him out of the car through the passenger side. the man drove away. the man crashed the police car into this tree a few blocks away in cleveland and took off running. police searched the area and the man is still on the loose. a loaded gun and ammunition were found in the stolen car. it is believed he used the stolen car. >> a suspected stolen vehicle. it was stolen and several armed robberies in cleveland. and again that oakwood village car was found crashed into the tree. as to the police officer taken to the hospital with cuts to both legs and he was treated and released. live from oakwood police department paul kiska, news 5. a world series live team coverage continues next at five. this is a live look at gateway plaza. filled with fans as we count down to the first pitch and you

all right. tonight we are looking into a decade old mystery. it has been solved. >> last week we told you that the indians world series pennant from 1948 was lost when the old municipal stadium was torn down. we think we found it. news 5 james gerardi is live outside the ball man contacted you to say he knows where the pennant is. >> he has a good idea. clues signaling that one of the two missing world series pennants that belongs to the indians may be right here inside progressive field. >> they pulled it out and displayed it. >> nearly 50 years ago a 12- year-old curious allen fenninger wrote the sports

series pennant. the team buried it in 1949 in a weird funeral for the indians playoff hopes. >> he says the next day they dug it up because the coffin was rented and they had to return it. they had the pennant in mothballs. >> we have quite a few storage spaces that have collected dust i guess so i guess we have a renewed interest to go to some places and get dirty. >> the thinking was brought to progressive years ago and tucked away unknowingly. >> it wouldn't the first time that something was loss but found. >> the indians have a history of missing things. a plaque honoring ray chapman. lost his life playing the game was originally on display in league park and then made its way to municipal. >> no one knew what happened to it and cleaning out the ballpark someone came across it. rather large and heavy plaque for ray chapman.
