i'm putting it in my name. so i called the cable company and they let me know that i already have an outstanding balance and if i want to get a new account, i need to take care of that balance before it transfers. they tell me that the address to this account is to an erica phillips and the old place that i was living in. - [cristina] did you open an account when you were living with your cousin? - never had an account, never had credit. never had anything. so i, i tell them that it might be a mistake so i give them my social security number and they tell me that my account number with my social security is linked to this outstanding balance. which made me realize that erica, my cousin erica, used my social security and ran up my credit and essentially stole from me. - okay so then how much was that bill? - i have it right here your honor. - any other bills? - i have the bills

- from everything that she. - so you have that outstanding bill from the. - from the cable company. - okay and what else? - i also have another bill from an electronic store in which erica purchased a tv, was about $900. and then i also have a credit card that she opened up in my name. that's about 2,200. - did you open these accounts? - yeah, she did. - erica owed me money. - [christina] it's a yes or no, it's a yes or no question. - she did. - yes. - did you use her social security number? - yes. - why? - well when she started working more hours your honor, i did ask her to pay money. - and she contributed 350 to $400 a month. - not all the time. - [narrator] judge perez's verdict when justice for all returns.
