we'll see you at 6:00. let's put shopping aside now. millions lined the streets for a thanksgiving tradition in new york. the macy's parade. this was the ninth year for the annual thanksgiving day parade. the route winds from uptown to midtown. this year's parade included more than two dozen floats, 16 characters balloons, hundreds of dancers, cheerleaders, clowns. security one worker set took him a full year just to be cleared as a balloon wrangler. >> they checked my background as good as you can. they got social security number and driver's license number and all those things. that morning at 5:15 i have to show a sheet of paper that's got a qr code on it that they will scan and then match with it my driver's license. >> the first macy's parade was way back in 1924. the show had to be put on hold during world war ii.

in the helium and rubber industries. they have turned their living room into a toy factory but what they are making goes far beyond fun and games. deanna and steve created a nonprofit to adapt regular off the shelf toys into toys that can be triggered by buttons and switches used by kids with special needs. their son max is here. people donate toys in to wish lists. >> you buy a toy forced 80. you don't know if it is going to work for them. on previous christmas the child could open the toy and it is not a toy they could play with. they couldn't squeeze the button that's on the hand or in the toy. by making this adaptation they can watch it since, watch the lights come on. >> that's a good idea. the watsons say the toys aren't just for fun.
