>> and that's when you can be more aware. this conversation right here is making people more aware of the fact that it is a sliding effect. and that will affect their emotions. so when you can feel yourself getting angry or frustrated, tell yourself okay, i'm going to that place and you can come up with a better solution and a better thought. just thinking, i can do this and it is possible and negating the i can't or i'm bad at that starts to make you feel better. >> okay. and it's very important for how it affects the kids too. >> absolutely. >> they can pick up on this, right? >> absolutely. as we know, kids are like sponges so they'll pick up on your negativity but they'll pick up on your positivity and as parents, it's our job to be great positive role models for our children. >> and is there specific i am statements or just whatever the situation relates to? >> well, let's say your son or daughter is at the table and they yell out, i am bad at math

and i feel stupid. go over and first acknowledge their frustration but say, listen, it's okay to be frustrated but you want to say, i am good at math or i can at least learn math or it's possible to learn math. it's not a quick trick but when you core late these into your every day, you begin to feel more positive and you can feel that you can do this. >> and take hold of it. >> take hold of it. >> simple thing, just practice. >> all starts with your thoughts. >> all right. thank you so much. >> thank you. time now to check the forecast one more time. here's meteorologist julie phillips. thanks positively. >> positively. i can positively impact the forecast. i don't know about that because we are looking at high storm chances rolling into tomorrow morning. so even if you want to wish them away, it looks like the showers and storms are going to be starting up by the early morning hours. this even, quiet, temperatures in the mid-60s. winds are light out of the east. we're going to track the changes into tomorrow morning.

so big picture-wise, what to expect. tracking an area of low pressure. this is going to bring us storm possibly a few severe storms tomorrow which is friday. the best chance is friday morning and the early afternoon hours. so by friday even action we're not looking at much of a storm threat at all. and the biggest threat is going to be what we're most concerned about, the possibility to see damaging winds within some of the storms and maybe even an isolated tornado. we heard about the tornado in cape coral last week. and with the el nio weather pattern, we are more likely to see the areas of low pressure move in and we can see some severe weather. for this evening though, it is pretty quiet, still cloudy the. and a couple light showers through the overnight hours increasing but as we head into sunrise and into the late morning hour, the showers and storms are going to increase. temperatures still slightly warmer and it's going to be windy by tomorrow afternoon. the winds out of the southwest from 10 to 20 miles per hour. here's the cloud cover we're seeing. south towards naples, tracking showers there.
4:46 pm
these aren't necessarily moving in our direction but we have light rain in the gulf that may spread over the inland areas into the late evening hours. but here's the real low that we're watching. still a ways away, south of louisiana right now, bringing heavy showers and storm to portions of the gulf coast and it's racing towards the north and east. and by tomorrow morning, the early afternoon hour, that's when our storm chances will go up. for this even, notice just some sprinkles but as you wake up tomorrow morning, starting to see heavier downpours and then the showers and storms really increase as we head into the late morning hours. but they're going to move through quickly. by the late afternoon and the evening, this clears out and we even see some sunshine to end the day. and windy conditions will set in. saturday morning, actually looks like a nice day. some fog to start off with during the morning hours and then into the afternoon, it's going to be mild and warmer, in the mid-70s. so we want to show you the winds tomorrow morning from 15 to 20 miles per hour in the

morning hours out of the southeast. we're going to see gusts even higher and the winds will be higher over the gulf as well so really not a good day to be on the water. would not recommend that at all. friday even, the winds lighten up already out of the west between 5 to 10 miles per hour. storms in the morning and also breezy winds and besides that, a hurricane. it's mid-january but we have hurricane alex out in the eastern atlantic. winds at 85 miles per hour, it strengthened from last night. we weren't expecting it to do that. and now a category one storm and it will weaken as it moves to the north. so rain chances tomorrow, very high, near 70%. and sunday's rain chances have gone up as well. so it's more likely we will see storms roll right back into the forecast before our cool down comes and temperatures drop back into the low 60s for next week. >> all right. julie, thank you. now it's time for send it to stacie.

>> we have some terrific ones today. she captured this beautiful sunrise in lakeland. gorgeous. and though you can't tell from the sunrise shot, it's still cold outside. just ask kelly allison. she says hokie pokie is ready for gasparilla. and this is roxie who doesn't want the cold. she appears to be part jack russell. she is for sure 100% adorable.. and finally this adorable picture of his son caleb who loves trains. he finally took his first train ride on amtrak from orlando to tampa. based on his expression, i would say it's two thumbs up. >> boy, that had to be fun. being pumped about trains and getting first train ride. good for him. >> you can send it by tweeting your pictures with the #sendittostacie and share them
