less than an hour ago when the nfl made it official. cutter and the rest of the buccaneers organization felt they had nothing to lose. and in his first year as offensive coordinator, cutter broke the franchise's franchise yardage record. dirk has been a head coach twice before but never at the professional level. he was the hc at arizona state from 2001 to 2006 and led the highland ram's high school team for a year in the 80s. actually won their first state championship that year. we're still waiting for an announcement of the press conference for the buccaneers.

the price of crude oil was up 227 points the s & p500 up 31. why is your cell phone bill so big? there's a good chance you're getting hit with overage charges. at&t customers are most likely to get hit 28% of the company's customers said, they paid for overages. sprint customers faired the best just 5% were charged extra. more k mart stores will be going away. sears holdings says it is preparing to shut down some locations. sears and k mart stores are on the chopping block but most of the cuts will involve k mart. the company isn't naming exact locations or saying how many stores will shut down only saying that the cuts are a very small percentage of the total number of stores. it looks like best buy did

the electronic chain says that its sales declined nearly 45%. the company had predicted its fourth quarter would be flat. now it's predicting domestic sales to shrink. checking out at aldi will be a little less sweet. the grocery chain plans to remove candy from check out aisles and moms everywhere rejoice. the candy will be replaced with healthier fair like granola bears and dried fruit, and kids everywhere crying. and chick-fil-a is going to start ordering happen kids apple juice. today a popular lip balm is facing a lawsuit.

with these thunderstorms. really anything this winter coming off the gulf of mexico. you need to watch very closely including the possibility of tornadoes. seminole 62 new port richie. very much sameness here to the temperatures from low 60s to mid-60s across the bay area. and the clouds have been a big factor today. low pressure back to our west. here's where our potential rain chance is coming from. lots of rain across south florida. light to moderate stuff today. we're starting to gather to the west that's why we're introducing rain chances here into the late evening hours. they usually put out a daily report for possible severe weather. this is what it sets up in the area for later tomorrow morning and into the mid-afternoon tomorrow.

in case you missed the breaking news at the top of the newscast. the tampa bay buccaneers appear ready to name their new head coach. the bucks are finalizing a deal to promote offensive coordinator dirk cutter. late last night, rumors surfaced that cutter was making plans to put together his coaching staff. a school in oklahoma has figured out a way to preserve chalkboards complete with drawings that date back to the 1800s.

the school in oklahoma city uncovered the chalkboards during renovation. long ago the school had simply covered them up complete with drawings, maps, a calendar other lessons. now the chalkboards are covered in plexi glass and sealed air tight. some will be on display others will once again be hidden to be rediscovered some day in the future. remember the snake smuggler from portland who smuggled a snake in his pants. the snake that endured being shoved into a guy's you know what region. the snake doing just fine. he has a feeling that the guy who returned the snake is a friend of the thief. but for now, no arrests has been made. good to know that one turned out all right. >> oh, yeah. okay. >> the snake is okay. that's the most important part.
