>> manatee county deputies are investigating a murder. eagle 8 is over the scene at bishop harbor road right now with the latest. >> reporter: good afternoon, josh. this is a fluid situation. we have only been here a short time. in that time we have seen the crime scene techs moving all around. this road is just north of 275 and just south of the skyway bridge, actually in palmetto. the body was found around 1:30 p.m., believed to be the body of a white female in her 20s, and foul play is suspected. homicide. you can see down here within the trees, the crime scene techs are down there trying to what's going on. they will be here for a while. any time they find a body, they have to be meticulous and get

once we get updates, we'll fill you in. >> thanks for that. again, a body of a woman in her 20s found in manatee county. we'll keep you updated. we are learning more about the four children who were injured but survived this weekend's deadly tornado. >> the grandparents of the kids were killed by that storm. the tornado ripped apart the mobile home the children and three adults were in on sunday. today a photo was posted on a gofundme account by the mother of some of the kids. the girls were more seriously injured than the boys but the boys have been released from the hospital. today the girls were released from intensive care and placed in standard hospital rooms. >> considering what's happened, they are doing really well. the outreach they have received from the community and the tremendous. >> family and friends set up the gofundme me account and the

medical and other expenses for all the children involved. cleanup continues in sarasota and they are working against the clock. today restoration teams continued cleaning debris while residents removed their belongings. this weekend is expected to bring more winds and rain to siesta key. this week crews will fashion a temporary roof over the building to protect it from the elements. orthodox christians took a brisk plunge as believers in siberia took an icy dip in that frozen lake. thousands gathered to watch brave worshipers dive into the black sea. and in the ukraine, youngsters took a bath in a local river at just 18 degrees.

at 4 forecast, nothing like that here in tampa. but we have seen colder weather for us. >> it is. we are tracking the coldest night yet so far of this winter season for us, freeze warnings posted for citrus, hernando and inland pasco county for tonight. protect the pets, plants and pipes tonight. if you live north of i-4, generally plan on seeing a freeze tonight. the majority of us are in the 30s by the time you wake up tomorrow morning. check out brooksville, 28 degrees there. we are looking at cold temperatures across the board, 34 in brandon and 39 tomorrow morning in tampa. all the winter gear, we don't get a lot of opportunity to use it here in the bay area but tomorrow morning is one of those cases. notice the clouds clearing, mostly clear skies expected across the tampa bay area tonight.

now with another look at the weather, julie is here. i see a lot of people bundled up out there. >> yes. we don't get to see a ton of days for the winter gear but right now is good. >> you can feel it. >> it's been a stretch. tonight is the coldest night of the season. a freeze warning has been posted for citrus, hernando and inland pasco county. if you're north of i-4, count on potentially seeing a freeze for tonight.

warmup and it will be brief, temperatures in the 70s for thursday and friday. then we're tracking our next storm chance already as well. a cold front is set to bring us higher rain and storm chances during the day on friday. so we're watching that system for you. for the rest of the evening, temperatures are dropping back quickly. we have mostly clear skies for tonight. winds are going to ease up, pretty much ideal conditions for the chilly temperatures. when you wake up, we're starting off tomorrow in the upper 30s, some areas even with some 20s on the maps in the northern low lying areas. so definitely a cold night for us. as we look at the current conditions, clouds off to the south. really we are seeing clear skies as high pressure builds in and that will allow us to stay mild overnight. we are 57 in sarasota and 55

chilly across not just florida but really across the entire great lakes northeast region. that high pressure allowed temperatures to stay in the teens this afternoon in chicago. it's 23 in detroit and 31 in new york city. so pretty much the eastern half of the country dealing with this bitter cold air mass. there's that area of high pressure. we are still kind of on the eastern side of it, north winds keeping us cool, and the area of high pressure generally keeping winds light in the overnight hours. most spots in the 30s tomorrow morning, then the winds shift northeast by wednesday afternoon, helping temperatures reach back up into the mid-60s. the area of high pressure continues to shift northeast and we are looking at temperatures in the 70s, mostly dry conditions. notice the next area of low pressure. this is set to move through on friday with about a 50% chance of storms. the timing right now looks to be throughout the day. behind this expect chilly and windy conditions as we head

it was a wild week on wall street. the markets were closed yesterday and maybe it was a good thing. but why were the markets so erratic? joining us now, john wax from wax advisors and raymond james. we see this happen, a bad stretch through the hashtags. how about the volatility last week? >> well, oil fell below $30 a barrel. that was a big point for a lot of people. and china entered into a bare market, which means they're down 20% from their peak. >> so oil prices are good for the pump but not good for markets. >> right. it's good for gas prices, things like that. but the companies of the stock market where earnings are based off their sales, when you bring in lower cost it translates

in the short-term. that's some of the pressure we have had. >> a lot of people buzzing about the economy weakening at this point. >> we did get some indicators last week that we're a little weaker than expected. but generally speaking we are very far away from anything recessionary. i wouldn't be too concerned. >> what should we watch for to see if things reverse course? >> we definitely want to see oil prices level off. they're not going to pay us to fill our gas tanks up. we'll grow from there. china needs to get ahead of what's going on in their economy and settle the fears around the world. >> should investors run for the hills or stay the course? >> right now stay the course.

accounts in your name. >> the only thing credit monitoring does at its best is let you know after the fact whether somebody opened a new account in your name. >> reporter: putting a freeze on your credit can last as long as you like and you won't get dinged for it. the cost can be $3 to $10 to freeze your credit and $2 to $12 to unfreeze it when you need a new line of credit or loan for a house or car. experian wants you to remember you have to lift the freeze before you need the new credit. >> the longest it could take is three days. but our experience and understanding is that it can happen online within 15 minutes. >> reporter: while a credit freeze won't stop bad guys from stealing your personal information that's already out

from opening new accounts. designers think it will be the safest helmet for football. a start-up company this week unveiled a new helmet. >> it's a tough conversation. >> reporter: as a pediatric neurosurgeon, samuel brown helped many kids with concussion. >> we see hundreds of kids a year come through the program for concussion. >> reporter: he reached out to the chair of the mechanical engineering department at the university of washington. >> we came together and tried to solve this problem. >> reporter: over the last two and a half years they came up with this, a four-layer helmet with a shell that absorbs impact, a layer that prevents skull fractures and another that improved the fit for athletes.

>> reporter: and it has a semisoft exterior shell. in this video they show why that matters. >> it's a high-tech layered design, completely different from the existing helmets. >> we are finding we are seeing significant improvements in what's compared to the helmets that are available today. >> now we have a company with a helmet that's ready for starting manufacturing. >> reporter: if it passes the final safety test, they hope to have nfl and college athletes using it as soon as the 2016 season, and eventually make it available to all sports that require a helmet.

now four headlines at 4:30. photos have been released of two of the three americans released by iran in a swap. amir hekmati is seen with his family. and the search continues for 12 marines on board two helicopters that collided off hawaii's coast. other agencies have searched by boat and with divers. the two choppers collided thursday. number three, the irs announced the 2016 filing season is open. they expect more than 150 year.

monday, april 18th to file your 2015 returns. number four, president obama welcomes australia's prime minister to the oval office. the two were set to talk about the global fight against isis and trade. there's an investigation involving some of the highest ranking members in polk county schools. >> we don't know many details because it is an ongoing investigation but we do know who the targets are. polk county superintendent catherine leroy had a complaint lodged against her by the superintendent ray rivers, who's worked for the district since 2010. an independent attorney is reviewing the complaint, the details of which have not been made public. most board members are refusing to talk about it.

further comment because we haven't even seen the complaint. >> associate superintendent rivers also declined to comment on why he filed the complaint or what it may involve. supporters of florida's private school voucher program came out in droves to florida's capitol tuesday. >> and they say they don't want to fight the public educators, they just want options. >> reporter: thousands of students came to rally in the name of school choice. more than 10,000 people, mostly florida tax credit scholarship students, marched and chanted, urging the florida education association to stop challenging the florida tax credit scholarship program.

keynote speaker this is the children of our state and their families being able to have options. >> reporter: the fda says the more than $500 million set aside for scholarships can better boost public education. >> the florida education association released a statement after the rally saying the court will decide whether it is constitutional or not. a 10-year-old has a story to tell after he got nipped by an alligator. bobby and his buddies were playing outside and got a little too close to a murky canal that's usually bone dry. a baby gator popped out and nipped him. the boys' says he felt the recent rain brought the gator into the neighborhood.

below freezing when you wake up tomorrow morn. bundle up for the bus stop. as this area of high pressure shifts east, a milder northeasterly flow develops by tomorrow afternoon and allows temperatures to top out in the mid-60s, so more pleasant. by thursday the serial flow allows us to warm up, topping out in the low 70s. enjoy thursday because the warmup doesn't last long. heading into friday, here is watching. it's beginning to pass throughout the day and friday temperatures. we are expecting scattered storms throughout the day. we have to watch potential for severe weather for this. potential isn't huge but we are watching it for friday. there. by saturday we are looking at cooler weather back into the forecast and really strong winds as well.

on saturday, it will be windy, making it feel even cooler. saturday is the gasparilla children's extravaganza. plan to bring the jackets, potentially gloves as well. temperatures will stay in the 50s throughout the parade. it's also going to be breezy and windy throughout the day. it will feel quite chilly, and that's pretty much what we're dealing with over the next couple weeks, ups and downs with the temperatures. we'll warm up next week and we are already tracking a second cold front after that. cold tonight, all of us most part. our next rain chance, 50% on friday with storm potential then as well. more now on the loss of musician glenn frey. there's and an outpouring of support following the death of the 67-year-old music legend

>> the band says for the past several weeks he'd been battling complications after pneumonia and a digestive issue. the condition even forced the group to postpone an appearance at the kennedy center last month. >> reporter: glenn frey's talent struck a chord with generations of fans. the detroit native moved to california as a young aspiring musician and hit it off with a drummer named don henley in 1970. >> from the first rehearsal, i felt we were working on a style of music none of us had ever heard before. >> reporter: they formed the eagles, one of the greatest song writing teams of all time, allowing country rock to take flight. >>

>> reporter: henley called frey the sparkplug and the man with the plan. the group turned california into a sound, landing them five number one hits, six grammys and five amas, their popularity outlasting them. went solo. he burned up the charts with several hits on his own and pursued an acting career including a role on miami vice. despite henley's claim that the eagles would only reunite when hell freezes over, the group reconciled in 1994 and inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame four years later. henley now reflecting on his band mate with a touching tribute, saying he was like a brother to me, and like most families there was some dysfunction. i'm not sure i believe in faith but i know crossing paths with
