but tonight we want to show you what it can do. melanie has more. >> reporter: this family has formed a bond after their son was borned with microcephaly. >> i remember my family doctor told my mom about joe's condition, and i just remember her crying. that's the earliest memory i have. i had never heard crying. i didn't know what was wrong. >> reporter: barry wilson will never forget the day his baby brother came home from the hospital. >> it's hard to take it in when you're so young. i tried to make it as normal as possible for darrell. >> reporter: that's where the bond began. the very first day he saw his infant brother born with the condition called microcephaly. >> i would do anything for him. it's at the point i would just do anything, and he has basically become my life at this point.

the start he would be darrell's protector, best friend and would never leave his side. he has made good on that promise. 16 years later, darrell functions on a 1st grade level, has health problems and needs 24-hour care. despite his limitations, his heart is full of love to give. >> i was devastated. absolutely devastated. i cried and cried for weeks. >> reporter: darrell's mother says it's been a tough road, but she is thrilled that it is being talked about. >> finally people will be educated, and finally my son will have a purpose in life. >> people learning about darrell's story and microcephaly, that's the most important thing to me. >> reporter: and you know tonight we want to thank the family for coming forward. they feel by talking about this and educating the public,

>> reporter: very happy in deed, keith. you know? this crime spree spanned over 5 counties, and there the victims in this crime, they were very relieved. they could breathe easier tonight knowing these two brazen burglars are off the streets. the damage from a break-in is still visible at this home. broken doorknobs and handles are all that remain. >> the front door was kicked in, the frame was busted, and we noticed, my wife had two jewelry cabinets that were missing. >> reporter: the thieves were in and out in less than 2 minutes. >> i got a call from a neighbor who said there were break-ins in the neighborhood and the police were in our house. >> reporter: detectives went to several homes that day. the bandits breaking in a number of houses on mark's street. >> i was just overwhelmed at how many houses they would hit.

peters and peters and harry damon are accused of breaking into 30 homes over the last month. >> they would take what they wanted and flee. >> reporter: the crime spree came to an end when they were arrested on saturday burglarizing another home. $200,000 in items were recovered. mark, his wife, cindy, and neighbor larry richards showed up to reclaim their stuff. >> i feel happy that a lot of people got some stuff back. not everyone got everything back, but it's good to know some justice will be served. >> reporter: detectives happened to get them off the streets before things got worse. when they took them into custody, they were warmed. >> i can't believe how many things stolen, recovered were on the table. you said $200,000, and this

damon, they are connected to other cases, you think? >> reporter: yeah, right now, again, this case is still under investigation, and you have to remember that this -- again, it happen in five counties, hillsborough, pasco, polk county, lake, and orange county. they believe victims from all the areas will come forward, and these guys will definitely face more charges. >> thank you. new information out in the case against bill cosby. the sexual assault case against the comedian is moving forward. the pennsylvania judge ruled there was no agreement with prosecutors and cosby not to press charges against him. it stems from a 2004 incident where he is charged of sexual assault by an associate. in western alabama, residents are cleaning up what is left after a tornado ripped through dozens of homes. trees and utility poles came down, and many were left without power.

were only minor injuries reported. the national weather service confirm several tornadoes touched down on tuesday night. tennessee felt the trail of destruction. you can see the destruction that was left behind. part of a school was damaged, and students were home from school today as the crews cleaned everything up. the same storm system created a bigger problem in the midwest. they were hit with a massive blizzard. you can see here the winter weather is causing some serious problems for drivers in nebraska, and thick snow and ice and slush made stretches of interstates and highways pretty much impassable, and drivers had to wait it out on the side of the road as the crews cleaned it all up. kentucky senator rand paul and rick santorum are calling it quits in their race for the white house. both had a disappointing showing in the iowa caucuses.

>> reporter: there isn't. the crimes keep going up and up and up, and i spoke to another expert, and he says they are monitoring 20,000 credit card thieves each and every month throughout the world. the problem is going nowhere fast, keith. >> paul miller live in st. petersburg. thank you, paul. new tonight a rash of thefts at a popular disney world resort has vacationers on alert. there's been 20-dollarries at saratoga spa. they are getting in through the sliding doors and stealing electronics, and it's a reminder to all of us, keep traveling. if you need a job, you may depot. they need 80,000 workers to handle the busy spring season. they have part-time and full- time positions available at stores and distribution centers, and each store will hire between 40 and 50 people.

a california man is suing mcdonald's over ingredient, and he says the cheese in the mozzarella sticks is not real in his federal lawsuit he points out there's filler ingredients, and he doesn't like that. according to him, the company mislead him because they promote authentic mozzarella in the ads and packaging. warm day today, a strong south wind helping. 84degrees, tieing the record set in 1990. yes, it was a warm day. the last warm day in some time, as you can see coming up here. the temperature trend, as a matter of fact, this is a long shot. a rough look at what is happening here throughout february. we will run through february, and temperatures below the midline here, jumping towards the end of the month this is a long-range forecast, but it's a rough idea certainly for the short-term.

71 for treasure island. 73 for crystal river, and also 72 for sarasota, and obviously it's mild just about everywhere you travel here. the cold front is changing temperatures behind the front. it's cooler. high pressure is holding on tough, and slowly this cold front will make progress to break down the western edge of the high pressure, and the rain has been falling across the panhandle, not severe thunderstorms today, mostly rain, and that's what we think primarily moving into the area. not impossible we could see an isolated thunderstorm, but it looks like most of the rain will push on through throughout the day for tomorrow. the early morning hours of the northern areas, and pushing south ward. at 7:30 in the morning, there's a possibility of seeing showers earlier in the day, and pushing southward, and as the day progresses, 54:50, -- 5:45, and this is updated. the sun will be out, and that will be nice, too. different day compared to today
